In the previous couple of years, the internet of things (IoT) is gaining additional and a lot of attention each within the academia and in the industrial worlds. A wide accepted notion of the internet of things (IoT) is stated the chance of militarization everyday objects with adequate technology to permit them to speak with alternative objects, identify themselves, or perhaps participate to distribute computing. These things are customarily stated as SO2019;s (Smart Object), might be drawn as actual relics augmented with computing, communication, actuations and storing functionalities. Their importance resides within the capabilities they need to create physical environments 201C;smart201D; therefore as to offer novel cyber physical service to individuals. smart Objects, that are vital elements of the IOT, are everyday objects that are equipped with hardware components like radio for communication, a CPU hardware to process tasks, sensors to be responsive to the globe within which they're located and to regulate it at a given instant. Even so, as sensible objects have restricted resource constraints to appoint sturdy protection mechanisms, they're at risk of subtle security attacks. For this reason, a smart authentication mechanism that considers every helpful resource constraints and safety is needed

Tourism, one of the largest industries in the world, has recorded  consistent  growth  since  the  end  of  Second World  War.  Travel  is  a  key  factor  in  the  process  of tourism, where the tourist is the main player as well as the  ultimate  consumer  of  the  products  and  services offered to him/her. A tourist‟s decision to travel is  by itself a complex process because there are many factors that influence the decision. The New media, which has emerged  in  the  wake  of  tremendous  advancements  in information  and  communication  technologies  is also influencing the decision making process in modern times. Here, an attempt has been done to examine the influence of new media in the various stages of decision making process and the role played by it. A questionnaire based survey was  undertaken  to  conduct  the  study  and  the analysis reveals various kinds of influences of new media

L-deprenyl attenuates the rotenone-induced dopaminergic neurotoxicity: experimental evidences in rats

    Get PDF
Parkinson disease (PD) is progressive neurological disorder because of massive degeneration of nigrostriatal dopaminergic neurons. The pathogenesis of PD is unknown, but considerable evidence suggests multifactorial factors including genetic, mitochondrial dysfunction, oxidative stress, excitotoxicity, calcium cytotoxicity, environmental factors and apoptosis. We investigated the role of oxidative damage produced by intranigral infusion of a potent mitochondrial complex-I inhibitor, rotenone and studied the neuroprotective effects with a well-known antiparkinsonian drug L-deprenyl in rats. Unilateral stereotaxic intranigral infusion of rotenone 6 lg caused significant decrease in dopamine levels. L-deprenyl (10 mg/kg) treatment significantly attenuated the DA depletion caused by rotenone. Parallely, a significant decrease in the concentration of GSH was also observed in the SN was reverted by L-deprenyl treatment. L-deprenyl significantly attenuated the rotenone-induced decrease in tyrosine hydroxylase immunoreactivity in striatum. The results suggest that L-deprenyl can rescue the dopaminergic neurons from the rotenone mediated neurodegeneration in this experimental animal model

Cropping duration and non-rhizomorphic mycelial phenotype of Pleurotus djamor woody1 co-segregate in the hybrid progenies

Crop duration of the cultivated Pleurotus spp. is 45 to 50 days. P. djamor isolate woody-1 was collected as natural selection and was found to be short cropping duration variety with total cropping duration of 30 days but it is less palatable. It produced very thin, loose and non-rhizomorphic mycelia appearing light white color. Whereas, other commercial Pleurotus varieties such as P. florida and P. djamor MDU1 are long crop duration varieties and palatable producing thick, compact and rhizomorphic mycelia with bright white color. Co-segregation of non-rhizomorphic mycelial phenotype and short cropping duration trait of P. djamor woody- 1 in hybrid progenies was evaluated. Hybrid strains viz., H2W12 and H2W14 have thin, loose and non-rhizomorphic mycelium and they produced primordia in 9-10 days after spawning with total cropping duration of 29-32 days. Whereas, hybrid strain namely Pf1W2 has thick, compact and rhizomorphic mycelial phenotype and it produced primordia in 20 days after spawning with the total cropping duration of 47 days. This study indicated that genes governing short cropping duration and non-rhizomorphic mycelial pattern were tightly linked and co-segregated in the progenies. Thus, non-rhizomorphic mycelial phenotype of P. djamor woody1 can be used as a phenotypic marker for selection of hybrid cultivar having short cropping duration with other desired agronomic traits in future breeding strategy

Efficient Circuit Configuration to Reduce Comparator Requirement of 8-Bit Flash Analog to Digital Convertor

    Get PDF
Need constantly exists for converters with higher resolution, faster conversion speed and lower power dissipation. High-speed analog to digital converters (ADC’s) have been based on flash architecture, because all comparators sample the analog input voltage simultaneously, this ADC is thus inherently fast. Unfortunately, flash ADC requires 2N - 1 comparators to convert N bit digital code from an analog sample. This makes flash ADC’s unsuitable for high-resolution applications. This paper demonstrates a simple technique to reduce comparator requirement of 8-bit flash ADC that requires as few as 65 comparators for 8-bit conversion. In this approach, the analog input range is partitioned into 64 quantization cells, separated by 63 boundary points. A 6-bit binary code 000000 to 111111 is assigned to each cell. A 8-bit flash converter requires 256 comparators, while proposed technique reduces number of comparator requirements to 65 for 8-bit conversion. DOI: 10.17762/ijritcc2321-8169.150711

Early postoperative outcomes of dunking pancreatojejunostomy

Background: There is no gold standard method for pancreatico-enteric reconstruction.  In our department, dunking pancreatojejunostomy (DPJ) and Duct to mucosa PJ technique are done as per surgeon’s choice.  In this study, authors evaluate the early postoperative outcomes following DPJ based on ISGPS (2007).Methods: A Retrospective analysis of prospectively collected data from January 2008 to December 2015. Detailed information on these patients was maintained on a prospectively held computerized database. Routine drain amylase estimations are being done on POD 3and 5 for all patients undergoing pancreatic resections and on all subsequent days if output is suggestive of pancreatic fistula. Details of patients who have undergone pancreatic resection with duct to mucosa type of pancreato-intestinal anastomosis during the same period (64 patients) were also collected prospectively and analysed. DPJ and Duct to mucosa groups were not comparable with respect to age, duct size, pancreatic gland texture and co-morbidities. Hence direct comparison between the two groups has not been carried out. Results: A total of 75 of 139 pancreatic resections with pancreatointestinal anastomosis who had dunking PJ and fulfilled the study criteria were analysed; none were excluded for analysing early outcomes. 19 out of 75 (25.5%) developed grade ‘A’ POPF, five out of 75 (6.6%) developed Grade ‘B’ POPF and three out of 75 (3.3%) developed Grade ‘C’ POPF. 20 out of 75 (26.6%) had grade ‘A’ DGE, five out of 75 (6.6%) had grade ‘B’ DGE. PPH occurred in four out of 75 (5.3%), two out of four were early PPH, one was managed by coiling and other by re-laparotomy, two were late PPH both managed by coiling of the pseudo aneurysms. There was no 30-day mortality. Conclusions: Dunking (Invagiantion) pancreatojejunostomy has accepatable early outcomes with clinically significant/relevant postoperative pancreatic fistula rates of Grade B (6.6%) and Grade C (4%), delayed gastric emptying (33.2%) and post pancreatic hemorrhage (5.3%) rates. The outcomes are comparable with Duct-to-mucosa PJ mentioned in literature
