    Get PDF
During the last years, use of security protocols has increased significantly. Protection of the communications had been provided by security protocols and architectures, however some problems have appeared, revealing that the potential expansion of ICT can be limited if some interoperability problems are not solved. Our group have created and implemented a new methodology in order to reduce the interoperability problems of the implementations of security protocols and architectures. This methodology develops a completed conformance evaluation with the particular security standard and furthermore realizes a performance analysis of the more important parameters for the development of security protocols

An efficient methodology to simulate mixed spectral signatures of land covers through Field Radiometry data

    Get PDF
An efficient methodology to simulate mixed spectral signatures of land covers, from endmember data, using linear statistical modelling based on the least squares estimation approach, is proposed. The optimal set of endmember has been obtained by measurements in situ with a field spectroradiometer GER 1500. Also, it is proposed the use of new sub-pixel methods based on statistics and certain “units of sampling” to apply to the landscapes. The resultant point estimations for these new units will be the “observations” and all of them will carry out an special role to simulate the final spectral signature. This methodology is used to simulate spectral signatures of a Mediterranean forest landscape near to Madrid (Spain). Furthermore the spectral signature model obtained through Field Radiometry data will be correlated with the image data of the same zone provided by the Landsat 7 Enhaced Thematic Mapper Plus (ETM+) sensor once corrected. The results obtained in correlation studies seem to conclude its efficiency. At the same time, the results open new research guidelines

Landcover degradation analysis of Mediterranean forest by means of hyperplanes obtained from mixture linear algorithms (MLA)

The percentage alteration of the Mediterranean forest landscape is one of the primary indicators for its degradation. In this sense, the land cover abundances change analysis by using mixture linear algorithms (MLA), is presented like a good alternative to study this degradation. This research analyzes the use of two information sources like Remote Sensing (Landsat-ETM+) and Field Radiometry (GER 1500) to obtain mixture hyperplanes. These are calculated by models based on least square estimations, assuming that each pure land cover (endmember) belonging to any geographic area, behaves as a random variable which distribution function is known. The mixture hyperplanes provide spectral signatures with a suitable correlation level with regard to the supplied from remote satellite sensors once corrected, for the same geographical zone. These established hyperplanes can be used in future researches about Mediterranean forest landscape changes, because they can represent the different levels of its degradation. In this sense, it is proposed that they will feed a land cover spectral library with free accessibility

This report deals with the study ofsome of the measures of educational character, included in the “Strategy of Entrepreneurship and Youth Employment 2013-16”, in which the government of Spain has designed to combatyouth unemployment, early s chool leaving and insuf?cient professional quali? cation that characterizes young Spanish people under the age of 30 years old. The importance of counting on training and professional quali? cation is now a basic requirement to succeed in the labour market and therefore a third of the one hundred measures proposed in this strategy isbased on developing initiatives that allow the acquisition of greater employability in youth who are currently outside the labor market. Prominent among the proposed short-term measures are three types of programs, those aimed at obtaining professional certi?cates, traininginvolving the commitment of hiring, and programs that facilitate the acquisition of the title of compulsory secondary education amongst youth that leave their studies prematurely. To understand the scope of these proposals it is necessary to perform an analysis of the processthat has taken place in the Spanish educational system to suit the structure ofsocial-labour of the European Union and the implications on citizens

This communication is based on the Research Project “Schools moving towards educational inclusion: working with the local community, students’ voices and educational support for promoting change”, developed in A Estrada (Pontevedra, Spain). The aim of this project is to promote inclusive educational processes, articulated on a gradual basis from the educational centres to the local community . Development of the project is expected to progress in an inter-dependent manner, in three areas of action: intra-school, inter-schools and inter-services. In this work, we take a more indepth look at one of the studies initially conducted at inter-schools level. This is a participatory study on the Educational Transitions in A Estrada, carried out with the collaboration of teachers in Infants, Primary and Secondary Education besides students, families and the local community through different activities. Analysis is made of the information contributed by teachers at the nine educational centres regarding the different types of educational Transitions. Results are presented around three points of interest–concerns and fears expressed by the teaching staff in terms of the different educational transitions; actions to deal with these moments of change; and proposals for improvement put forward in order to facilitate such processes.peerReviewe

USV based automatic deployment of booms along quayside mooring ships: scaled experiments and simulations

    Get PDF
This article explores possible uses of marine Unmanned Surface Vehicles (USV) for the fully automatic deployment of containment booms along quayside mooring ships. The task of the USV is to tow the boom along adequate trajectories. The target is the prevention of contaminant spills in harbors or near the coast, for example during crude transfers. Surrounding ships with booms is becoming a common practice. This scenario belongs to the target of our research: to transfer robotic techniques to marine applications. The article experimentally shows that the USV based automatic deployment can be done, in accordance with a suitable planning in terms of waypoints. Actually, the article presents a successful automatic deployment, with a scale USV and a 50 m long experimental light boom. For the purposes of the research a set of models, of the boom, cables, and the USV dynamics, have been established. Based on these models, a simulation platform has been developed. The platform has been employed for analyzing and planning of experiments, and for the simulation of a real scale boom deployment scenario described in the article. Some recommendations are included in the final section
