Electron tunneling to the surface states at photocatalysis

    Get PDF
Simulation of tunneling electrons excited by the sunlight in TiO2 to surface states is performed for TiO2/Si nanostructure. The tunneling transmission coefficient of the surface states created by organic compounds was calculated by phase function method. Dependence of the transmission coefficient of tunneling electrons on potential barrier parameters is explained by interference of transmitted and reflected waves

The article deals with the functioning of cultural stereotypes in French, American and Russian linguistic consciousness. Cross-cultural interaction is interpreted within the framework of mastering linguocultural communication codes and the worldview of allophones. The analysis of factual data is based on the linguosemiotic approach to its interpretation within a discursive utterance

    Radiological diagnosis of copd exacerbations

Review of the literature in problems of diagnosis of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) exacerbation and the main radiological techniques of COPD exacerbation were presented. Diagnostic possibilities of screen-film radiography, functional low-dose digital fluorography (LDDR), high-resolution computed tomography (HRCT), inspiration-expiration HRCT, ventilation-perfusion pulmoscintigraphy and magnetic resonance tomography in patients with COPD exacerbation were described. The advantages offunctional LDDR in patients with COPD exacerbation were shown

THE ASSESSMENT OF CLIMATE CHANGE AND WATERSHED EFFECT ON THE HETEROTROPHIC METABOLISM IN THE LAKE ONEGO ECOSYSTEM

    Get PDF
Lake Onego, as one of the largest water bodies in a humid zone, is the recipient of terrestrial carbon and plays an important role in the global balance of this element. Due to heterotrophic metabolism in the Lake Onego ecosystem, substantial emissions of carbon dioxide from this lake into the atmosphere can be assumed. However, the extent of this phenomenon is still poorly known. As a climate change has led to an increase in water and organic matter flow into the northern water bodies, the carbon balance study of aquatic ecosystems is of particular relevance. The elements of the water balance for the Lake Onego catchment area in the current climate conditions are assessed. Based on satellite images the model of Lake Onego watershed terrestrial ecosystems is used to simulate the flow of organic matter into the lake with different types of vegetation and topography consideration. The assessment of the benthic communities habitat is carried out taking into account the accumulation of organic matter in various parts of Lake Onego

Study of the characteristics of bitumen with adhesive additive using method of X-ray analysis

© SGEM 2017. All Rights Reserved. The most appropriate way to increase grip of bitumen with mineral materials is the use of adhesive additives which are slowing down the process of aging of bitumen due to oxidation and increasing durability of pavement. Adhesive properties of bitumen are important characteristics, as they are having a huge impact on operational properties of composite materials, such as asphalt mixtures. To understand the chemical behavior of the binder components interaction and improve adhesion to mineral components of asphalt concrete mixtures, it is important to study the nature of interaction of road bitumen adhesion with additives. Experimental data are presented in this article shows difference of the diffraction maximums of bitumen samples after mixing with adhesive additive using radiographic method of analysis. The results showed that all samples of modified binders, except bitumen modified with 1% of the mass. additive (which nevertheless shows decline of intensity), missing diffraction maximum, which is specific to additive «Adgezolin» (2θ = 19.6°). Interplanar spaces are also reduced. This allows for the conclusion that during mixing additive “Adgezolin” with the bitumen we have not just physical adsorption, but also a chemical interaction, leading to changing the structure of the binder

Temperature dynamics of organic matter of the bazhenov suite from electron paramagnetic resonance

© SGEM2017. All Rights Reserved. Revealing the conditions and mechanisms of evolution of oil deposit based on optical and electron microscopy, electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) is a necessary step to create improved of recovery methods. Application EPR for study temperature, mechanical and radiation dynamics of organic matters were presented in this communication. The subject of the investigation was the core material from Bazhenov suite (East Siberian oil and gas province). In order to reveal the features of the material composition and the generation potential of the organic matter of rocks, the EPR spectra of the Bazhenov suite samples were investigated. Methods of chloroform extraction, isothermal treatment at a temperature of 350°C and 600°C in hydrogen atmosphere for samples from core section were used. The main hydrocarbon generation zone was established during the degradation of kerogen at 350°C. The inhomogeneity of distribution of carbonate matter is revealed. The main phase of oil generation in the area of 350°С is accompanied by the destruction of kerogen and the formation of a liquid phase of hydrocarbons and leaching of iron. Potential hydrocarbon generation opportunities are associated with destruction of kerogen at 350°C

Based on hypotheses concerning the role of stress in acute pancreatitis development, the experimental approach for the decrease stress damage via the use the compound with proven antistress/neuroleptic action was conducted. The study was aimed to discover 2-morpholino-5-phenyl-6H-1,3,4-thiadiazine hydrobromide (compound L-17) therapeutic action in experimental acute pancreatitis. The experimental model used was the ligation model. The trial was carried out on 50 male Wistar rats with average body weight 180-240g. Histological picture of the pancreas was studied and biochemical and enzyme-immunoassays were carried out on the first and seventh days. The significant reduction in mortality on the background of L-17 compound administration was observed. While levels of all cytokines increased in induced experimental acute pancreatitis groups, the cytokine level rise was decreased when compound L-17 was administered. On the cellular level, the study revealed L-17’s ability to prevent granulocytosis and decrease granulocytes infiltration to inflammatory foci. The decrease in inflammatory reaction magnitude and prevention of abscess formation in experimental acute pancreatitis accompanied by sistemic inflamamtion was due to L-17’s ability to reduce neutrophilia and neutrophil entry into the injury zone. © 2018, Slovak Academy of Sciences.
