    Event Organization 101: Understanding Latent Factors of Event Popularity

    The problem of understanding people's participation in real-world events has been a subject of active research and can offer valuable insights for human behavior analysis and event-related recommendation/advertisement. In this work, we study the latent factors for determining event popularity using large-scale datasets collected from the popular Meetup.com EBSN in three major cities around the world. We have conducted modeling analysis of four contextual factors (spatial, group, temporal, and semantic), and also developed a group-based social influence propagation network to model group-specific influences on events. By combining the Contextual features And Social Influence NetwOrk, our integrated prediction framework CASINO can capture the diverse influential factors of event participation and can be used by event organizers to predict/improve the popularity of their events.     Design and feasibility analysis of a novel auto hold system in hydrostatic transmission wheeled vehicle

    Auto hold refers to vehicle’s function of automatic braking under shutdown condition and automatic relieving braking force when vehicle starts. This paper presents a concrete structure of the novel auto hold system of hydrostatic transmission wheeled vehicle, and deeply analyses the working mechanism and control method. To validate its feasibility, AMESim software is adopted to establish the simulation model of the auto hold system based on mathematical theories. By using the data of a certain comprehensive operation mode as input, the curve of braking force of the auto hold system is obtained through simulation. It can be known through analysis that the proposed auto hold system can realize rapid response and provides stable braking force under different road conditions. Finally, the feasibility of the proposed auto hold system is validated by comparing the simulation data with actual braking force required and the electronic vehicle parking technology. It turns out that the auto hold system can meet the requirements of all road conditions. Besides, it also can provide a fault tolerance range for real vehicle experiments, and it will not cause adverse impacts due to excessive parking brake force

    LHX1 as a potential biomarker regulates EMT induction and cellular behaviors in uterine corpus endometrial carcinoma

    Objectives: To investigate the expression of LHX1 and its role as a biomarker in the diagnosis and prognosis of Uterine Corpus Endometrial Carcinoma (UCEC). Methods: The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database was used to detect the expression level of LHX1 in UCEC cells and tissues, and to find out the effect of LHX1 on prognosis. Co-expressed genes were then identified by Spearman correlation analysis, and the protein-protein interaction network was constructed using Cytoscape software. The R “clusterProfiler” package was used to conduct Gene Ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathway enrichment analyses. A series of in vitro experiments were performed to evaluate LHX1 expression and detect UCEC cell proliferation, invasion, and migration. Western blotting was used to determine the effect of LHX1 on expression levels of Epithelial-Mesenchymal Transition (EMT)-related proteins. Results: LHX1 was upregulated in UCEC tissues and correlated with poor overall survival and disease-specific survival outcomes. Functional enrichment analysis suggested that genes co-expressed with LHX1 were enriched in cell adhesion. The expression of LHX1 was positively correlated with the expression levels of genes related to EMT induction and invasion. LHX1 can enhance the proliferation, migration, and invasion activities of UCEC cells in vitro, and alter the expression levels of EMT-related proteins. Conclusion: LHX1 expression was highly upregulated in UCEC cells and tissues, which was correlated with the prognosis of patients with UCEC. LHX1 may regulate UCEC progression at least in part by modulating EMT induction
