On holographic three point functions for GKP strings from integrability
Adapting the powerful integrability-based formalism invented previously for
the calculation of gluon scattering amplitudes at strong coupling, we develop a
method for computing the holographic three point functions for the large spin
limit of Gubser-Klebanov- Polyakov (GKP) strings. Although many of the ideas
from the gluon scattering problem can be transplanted with minor modifications,
the fact that the information of the external states is now encoded in the
singularities at the vertex insertion points necessitates several new
techniques. Notably, we develop a new generalized Riemann bilinear identity,
which allows one to express the area integral in terms of appropriate contour
integrals in the presence of such singularities. We also give some general
discussions on how semiclassical vertex operators for heavy string states
should be constructed systematically from the solutions of the Hamilton-Jacobi

Wave functions and correlation functions for GKP strings from integrability
We develop a general method of computing the contribution of the vertex
operators to the semi-classical correlation functions of heavy string states,
based on the state-operator correspondence and the integrable structure of the
system. Our method requires only the knowledge of the local behavior of the
saddle point configuration around each vertex insertion point and can be
applied to cases where the precise forms of the vertex operators are not known.
As an important application, we compute the contributions of the vertex
operators to the three-point functions of the large spin limit of the
Gubser-Klebanov-Polyakov (GKP) strings in spacetime, left unevaluated
in our previous work [arXiv:1110.3949] which initiated such a study. Combining
with the finite part of the action already computed previously and with the
newly evaluated divergent part of the action, we obtain finite three-point
functions with the expected dependence of the target space boundary coordinates

Skeletal muscle volume is associated with prognosis of cancer patients. Maintenance of skeletal muscle is an essential concern in cancer treatment. In nutritional intervention, it is important to focus on differences in metabolism between tumor and skeletal muscle. We examined the influence of oral intake of glucose (0%, 10%, 50%) and 2% medium-chain fatty acid (lauric acid, LAA, C12:0) on tumor growth and skeletal muscle atrophy in mouse peritoneal metastasis models using CT26 mouse colon cancer cells and HT29 human colon cancer cells. After 2 weeks of experimental breeding, skeletal muscle and tumor were removed and analyzed. Glucose intake contributed to prevention of skeletal muscle atrophy in a sugar concentration-dependent way and also promoted tumor growth. LAA ingestion elevated the level of skeletal muscle protein and suppressed tumor growth by inducing tumor-selective oxidative stress production. When a combination of glucose and LAA was ingested, skeletal muscle mass increased and tumor growth was suppressed. Our results confirmed that although glucose is an important nutrient for the prevention of skeletal muscle atrophy, it may also foster tumor growth. However, the ingestion of LAA inhibited tumor growth, and its combination with glucose promoted skeletal muscle integrity and function, without stimulating tumor growth. Non-parametric Bayesian drift estimation for stochastic differential equations
We consider non-parametric Bayesian estimation of the drift coefficient of a
one-dimensional stochastic differential equation from discrete-time
observations on the solution of this equation. Under suitable regularity
conditions that are weaker than those previosly suggested in the literature, we
establish posterior consistency in this context. Furthermore, we show that
posterior consistency extends to the multidimensional setting as well, which,
to the best of our knowledge, is a new result in this setting.Comment: 27 page
OpenLB User Guide: Associated with Release 1.6 of the Code
OpenLB is an object-oriented implementation of LBM. It is the first
implementation of a generic platform for LBM programming, which is shared with
the open source community (GPLv2). Since the first release in 2007, the code
has been continuously improved and extended which is documented by thirteen
releases as well as the corresponding release notes which are available on the
OpenLB website (https://www.openlb.net). The OpenLB code is written in C++ and
is used by application programmers as well as developers, with the ability to
implement custom models OpenLB supports complex data structures that allow
simulations in complex geometries and parallel execution using MPI, OpenMP and
CUDA on high-performance computers. The source code uses the concepts of
interfaces and templates, so that efficient, direct and intuitive
implementations of the LBM become possible. The efficiency and scalability has
been checked and proved by code reviews. This user manual and a source code
documentation by DoxyGen are available on the OpenLB project website
Engineering the isobutanol biosynthetic pathway in Escherichia coli by comparison of three aldehyde reductase/alcohol dehydrogenase genes
Biofuels synthesized from renewable resources are of increasing interest because of global energy and environmental problems. We have previously demonstrated production of higher alcohols from Escherichia coli using a 2-keto acid-based pathway. Here, we have compared the effect of various alcohol dehydrogenases (ADH) for the last step of the isobutanol production. E. coli has the yqhD gene which encodes a broad-range ADH. Isobutanol production significantly decreased with the deletion of yqhD, suggesting that the yqhD gene on the genome contributed to isobutanol production. The adh genes of two bacteria and one yeast were also compared in E. coli harboring the isobutanol synthesis pathway. Overexpression of yqhD or adhA in E. coli showed better production than ADH2, a result confirmed by activity measurements with isobutyraldehyde

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) provides life-saving humanitarian aid for 5·4 million Palestine refugees now entering their eighth decade of statelessness and conflict. About a third of Palestine refugees still live in 58 recognised camps. UNRWA operates 702 schools and 144 health centres, some of which are affected by the ongoing humanitarian disasters in Syria and the Gaza Strip. It has dramatically reduced the prevalence of infectious diseases, mortality, and illiteracy. Its social services include rebuilding infrastructure and homes that have been destroyed by conflict and providing cash assistance and micro-finance loans for Palestinians whose rights are curtailed and who are denied the right of return to their homeland
