An Outlook of the Work-Study Program for Chineses College Students from the Perspective of Times

The poverty student’s work is an important part in constructing a harmonious campus. How to make the best use of the work-study program requires us to view the issue from a long-term perspective. The article presents briefly the change and development of the connotation, object and subject of the program through an analysis of the history, current situation and future development of the work-study program. “Helping students out of poverty, providing them with good education and helping them grow into useful people" is a main theme that is in line with the development of times. Therapeutic effect of Lianbeijuqin (a Chinese herbal cocktail) on periodontitis in rat

Purpose: To investigate the therapeutic effect of Lianbeijuqin (LBJQ) decoction on periodontitis in rats in vivo and in vitro.Methods: High performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) was used to analyze the main constituents of LBJQ. Periodontitis in rats was induced in rats by ligation with bacteria-infected silk. Gingival index (GI) and attachment loss (AL) were evaluated. Additionally, the antibacterial activity of LBJQ against Porphyromonas gingivalis, Prevotella intermedius, Actinobacillus actinomycetemcomitans, Fusobacterium nucleatum, Streptococcus sanguis and Streptococcus mutans were evaluated usingminimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) and minimal bactericidal concentration (MBC) values. Furthermore, the inhibitory effect of LBJQ on the release of TNF-α, IL-1 β and IL-6 was also determined.Results: HPLC revealed the presence of phellodendrine, baicalin, palmatine, berberine, baicalein, wogonin and obacunone in LBJQ. LBJQ decoction  dose-dependently (200, 400 and 800 mg/kg) and significantly decreased GI and AL (p < 0.05) in the periodontitis model rats. It also exerted significant antibacterial effect against P. gingivalis (MIC, 0.64 mg/mL; MBC, 2.56 mg/mL), P. intermedius (MIC, 0.32 mg/m; MBC, 2.56 mg/mL), A. actinomycetemcomitans (MIC, 1.28 mg/mL; MBC, 5.12 mg/mL), F. nucleatum (MIC, 0.16 mg/mL; MBC, 0.64 mg/mL), S. sanguis (MIC, 0.64 mg/mL; MBC, 5.12 mg/mL), and S. mutans (MIC, 0.16 mg/mL; MBC, 1.28 mg/mL). Moreover, LBJQ decoction dose-dependently and significantly decreased the release of TNF-α (p < 0.01), IL-1 β (p < 0.01) and IL-6 (p < 0.01) in LPSinduced RAW 264.7 cells.Conclusion: LBJQ exerts therapeutic activity against periodontitis in rats via  inhibition of the release of inflammatory cytokines and growth of oral anaerobic  bacteria.Keywords: Lianbeijuqin decoction, Periodontitis, Phellodendrine, Baicalin, Palmatine, Berberine, Porphyromonas gingivalis, Prevotella intermedius, Inflammatory cytokine

Joint optimal measurement for locating two incoherent optical point sources near the Rayleigh distance

The simultaneous optimization of the centroid estimation and the separation estimation of two incoherent optical point sources is restricted by a tradeoff relation through an incompatibility coefficient. At the Rayleigh distance the incompatibility coefficient vanishes and thus the tradeoff relation no longer restricts the simultaneous optimization of measurement for a joint estimation. We construct such a joint optimal measurement by an elaborated analysis on the operator algebra of the symmetric logarithmic derivative. Our work not only confirms the existence of a joint optimal measurement for this specific imaging model, but also gives a promising method to characterize the condition on measurement compatibility for general multiparameter estimation problems.Comment: 5 pages, 2 figure

The Impact on Citation Analysis Based on Ontology and Linked Data

Research focus: The aim of this chapter is to introduce a new citation analysis and service framework based on the semantic web technologies (e.g., ontology and linked data). Research methods: This research project is based on a review of relevant literature and a series of experimental results based on ontology and linked data. Motivation: Traditional citation analysis methods and tools are overly dependent on citation databases, and traditional citation information service may ignore the semantics of knowledge resources and lack ability to store and query data in a machine-readable mode. Findings: The findings underline that the new citation analysis and service system framework based on ontology and linked data are feasible, which can integrate information requirements and knowledge services, and provide users with more personalized and comprehensive services
