The Υ(1S)\Upsilon(1S) leptonic decay using the principle of maximum conformality

In the paper, we study the Υ(1S)\Upsilon(1S) leptonic decay width Γ(Υ(1S)→ℓ+ℓ−)\Gamma(\Upsilon(1S)\to \ell^+\ell^-) by using the principle of maximum conformality (PMC) scale-setting approach. The PMC adopts the renormalization group equation to set the correct momentum flow of the process, whose value is independent to the choice of the renormalization scale and its prediction thus avoids the conventional renormalization scale ambiguities. Using the known next-to-next-to-next-to-leading order perturbative series together with the PMC single scale-setting approach, we do obtain a renormalization scale independent decay width, ΓΥ(1S)→e+e−=1.262−0.175+0.195\Gamma_{\Upsilon(1S) \to e^+ e^-} = 1.262^{+0.195}_{-0.175} keV, where the error is squared average of those from αs(MZ)=0.1181±0.0011\alpha_s(M_{Z})=0.1181\pm0.0011, mb=4.93±0.03m_b=4.93\pm0.03 GeV and the choices of factorization scales within ±10%\pm 10\% of their central values. To compare with the result under conventional scale-setting approach, this decay width agrees with the experimental value within errors, indicating the importance of a proper scale-setting approach.Comment: 6 pages, 4 figure

At present, there is an increasing interest on the use of calcium sulphoaluminate (C4A3)incement.Inthispaper,puremineralofsulphoaluminate(C4A3) in cement. In this paper, pure mineral of sulphoaluminate (C4A3) was prepared in laboratory. Different dosages of steel slag and C4A3wereblendedintocement.Theaimofthispaperistoinvestigatethecompressivestrengthofthisternarysystem.ThetestresultsshowthattheadditionofC4A3 were blended into cement. The aim of this paper is to investigate the compressive strength of this ternary system. The test results show that the addition of C4A3 can improve the strength of cement. Larger C4A3dosage(7 dosage (7%) may reduce the 28 days strength. The optimal C4A3 dosage is 5%. In ternary system, C4A3$ has no obvious improvement, while 5% dosage could improve the strength a little

High-order localized spoof surface plasmon resonances and experimental verifications

We theoretically demonstrated and experimentally verified high-order radial spoof localized surface plasmon resonances supported by textured metal particles. Through an effective medium theory and exact numerical simulations, we show the emergence of these geometrically-originated electromagnetic modes at microwave frequencies. The occurrence of high-order radial spoof plasmon resonances is experimentally verified in ultrathin disks. Their spectral and near-field properties are characterized experimentally, showing an excellent agreement with theoretical predictions. Our findings shed light into the nature of spoof localized surface plasmons, and open the way to the design of broadband plasmonic devices able to operate at very different frequency regimes.Comment: 29 pages, 10 figure

Tensor-Based Multi-Modality Feature Selection and Regression for Alzheimer's Disease Diagnosis

The assessment of Alzheimer's Disease (AD) and Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) associated with brain changes remains a challenging task. Recent studies have demonstrated that combination of multi-modality imaging techniques can better reflect pathological characteristics and contribute to more accurate diagnosis of AD and MCI. In this paper, we propose a novel tensor-based multi-modality feature selection and regression method for diagnosis and biomarker identification of AD and MCI from normal controls. Specifically, we leverage the tensor structure to exploit high-level correlation information inherent in the multi-modality data, and investigate tensor-level sparsity in the multilinear regression model. We present the practical advantages of our method for the analysis of ADNI data using three imaging modalities (VBM- MRI, FDG-PET and AV45-PET) with clinical parameters of disease severity and cognitive scores. The experimental results demonstrate the superior performance of our proposed method against the state-of-the-art for the disease diagnosis and the identification of disease-specific regions and modality-related differences.
