    Effect of Polyamines on Storability and Quality of Pomegranate Fruit (Punica granatum L.) Cv. Bhagwa

    Pomegranate cv. Bhagawa fruits harvested at adequate stage of maturity were dipped in aqueous solutions containing various concentrations of the polyamines putrescine (1mM, 2mM and 3mM) and spermidine (0.5mM, 1mM and 1.5mM), along with Tween-20 as a surfactant, for 5 minutes. The fruits were then stored at 5°C and 8°C temperature with under 90-95% relative humidity. Polyamine-treated fruits showed reduced chilling-injury, weight loss and respiration rate during storage at these 5°C and 8°C temperatures. An increasing trend in total soluble solids (TSS) content, and a decreasing trend in acidity were found in polyamine-treated fruits during storage at 5°C and 8°C temperature. Maximum reduction in chilling-injury was obtained with putrescine (2mM) at both the storage temperatures. Control fruits stored at 5°C and 8°C temperature rapidly developed chilling-injury developed symptoms of brown discoloration of skin and weight-loss in pomegranate fruits

    A Survey on Implementation of Homomorphic Encryption Scheme in Cloud based Medical Analytical System

    The privacy of sensitive personal information is more and more important topic as a result of the increased availability of cloud services. These privacy issues arise due to the legitimate concern of a) having a security breach on these cloud servers or b) the leakage of this sensitive information due to an honest but curious individual at the cloud service provider. Standard encryption schemes try to address the ?rst concern by devising encryption schemes that are harder to break, yet they don’t solve the possible misuse of this sensitive data by the cloud service providers. Homomorphic encryption presents a tool that can solve both types of privacy concerns. The clients are given the possibility of encrypting their sensitive information before sending it to the cloud. The cloud will then compute over their encrypted data without the need for the decryption key. By using homomorphic encryption, servers guarantee to the clients that their valuable information to have no problems after being in a difficult situation.

    Studies on Development and Testing of Sensor for Automatic Irrigation System

    In India, agriculture is the main sector for increasing the food production. In India, agriculture depends on the monsoons which is not sufficient source of water. So the irrigation is used in agriculture field. Every type of plant requires different amount of water to grow. To reduce the wastage of water and apply the optimum amount of water to the plants irrigation scheduling is needed. For irrigation scheduling it requires to determine the moisture content present in the soil. So to determine the moisture content the methods are very time consuming and less accurate. This project is an attempt to reduce the time consumption to determine the moisture content and to make it automatic and easy to use. We developed a moisture sensing kit and compared its reading with the gravimetric method. Also we design the automatic motor operating irrigation system on the basis of that moisture sensor reading. That is the motor is on when moisture is less than 50% and continues up to 80%.If moisture is greater than 80% then motor will automatically stopped. Also we provide GSM system with that microcontroller. If moisture is less than 50% then message will be automatically receive on the mobile.     Nanocrystalline Manganese Substituted Nickel Ferrite Thick Films as PPM Level H2S Gas Sensors

    A simple sol-gel auto combustion technique is introduced for the synthesis of nanocrystalline manganese substituted nickel ferrite dry powders. These dry powders were mechano-chemically mixed with organic binders to prepare thixotropic pastes. Thixotropic pastes of as prepared ferrite powders were formulated and screen printed on glass substrates to form thick films, followed by firing at 450oC. The crystal structure, phase, surface morphology and topography of the samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction study, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, etc. The gas sensing behavior of the samples were characterized by exposing the films to various inflammable and toxic gases like LPG, NH3, CO2, ethanol, H2S and Cl2. It was found that the sensors made from the composition containing x=1.0, exhibits highly selective and most sensitive towards 20 ppm of H2S gas at 3500C.     Water droplets can jump during vapor condensation on solid benzene near its melting point. This phenomenon, which can be viewed as a kind of micro scale steam engine, is studied experimentally and numerically. The latent heat of condensation transferred at the drop three phase contact line melts the substrate during a time proportional to R the drop radius . The wetting conditions change and a spontaneous jump of the drop results in random direction over length 1.5R, a phenomenon that increases the coalescence events and accelerates the growth. Once properly rescaled by the jump length scale, the growth dynamics is, however, similar to that on a solid surface

    How to measure influence in social networks?

    Today, social networks are a valued resource of social data that can be used to understand the interactions among people and communities. People can influence or be influenced by interactions, shared opinions and emotions. How-ever, in the social network analysis, one of the main problems is to find the most influential people. This work aims to report on the results of literature review whose goal was to identify and analyse the metrics, algorithms and models used to measure the user influence on social networks. The search was carried out in three databases: Scopus, IEEEXplore, and ScienceDirect. We restricted pub-lished articles between the years 2014 until 2020, in English, and we used the following keywords: social networks analysis, influence, metrics, measurements, and algorithms. Backward process was applied to complement the search consid-ering inclusion and exclusion criteria. As a result of this process, we obtained 25 articles: 12 in the initial search and 13 in the backward process. The literature review resulted in the collection of 21 influence metrics, 4 influence algorithms, and 8 models of influence analysis. We start by defining influence and presenting its properties and applications. We then proceed by describing, analysing and categorizing all that were found metrics, algorithms, and models to measure in-fluence in social networks. Finally, we present a discussion on these metrics, al-gorithms, and models.
