    Distributed Kafka Clusters: A Novel Approach to Global Message Ordering

    In contemporary distributed systems, logs are produced at an astounding rate, generating terabytes of data within mere seconds. These logs, containing pivotal details like system metrics, user actions, and diverse events, are foundational to the system's consistent and accurate operations. Precise log ordering becomes indispensable to avert potential ambiguities and discordances in system functionalities. Apache Kafka, a prevalent distributed message queue, offers significant solutions to various distributed log processing challenges. However, it presents an inherent limitation while Kafka ensures the in-order delivery of messages within a single partition to the consumer, it falls short in guaranteeing a global order for messages spanning multiple partitions. This research delves into innovative methodologies to achieve global ordering of messages within a Kafka topic, aiming to bolster the integrity and consistency of log processing in distributed systems.     Eosinophilic Esophagitis seems to be an ever-changing disease, from patient-to-patient and from year-to-year in the same patient. Improvements in these patients’ lives have been made with the realization that elimination of dietary antigens helped with symptom relief and treatment with topical steroids assisted in eradication of esophageal eosinophils. This case study has two very important aspects that should be emphasized. The first is the realization that it may be consistency of the steroid mixture rather than the ingredients that infer the effectiveness of the EoE treatment, and the second aspect is the willingness of the medical team to listen to the research and suggestions of the patient’s parents and applying them to the treatment plan

    Karonda and Jamun seeds’ in vitro anticancer efficacy

    In the search for potential anticancer agents from fruits, the present research work was carried out to examine the in vitro cytotoxic potential of seed part of Carissa carandas (karonda) and Syzygium cumini (jamun) against nine human cancer cell lines from eight different origins namely MCF-7, T-47D (breast), SF-295 (CNS), HCT-116 (colon), A-549 (lung), MDA-MB-435 (melanoma), OVCAR-5 (ovary), PC-3 (prostate) and A-498 (renal). Methanolic extracts were used as test material and anticancer activity was determined via SRB assayat 100 ÎĽg/mL. Results revealed that seeds suppressed the proliferation of human cancer cells with growth inhibition range of 78-100% (karonda) and 71-93% (jamun). Karonda seeds exhibited 100% growth inhibition of A-549 and OVCAR-5 cancer cells where as jamun seeds displayed 93% growth inhibition of SF-295 cancer cells. The seeds were then evaluated at lower concentrations of 50, 30, 10 and 1 ÎĽg/mL in which seeds exhibit significant in vitro cytotoxic effect against lung cancer cells (A-549). Further, IC50 values were calculated and it was observed that seed extracts from both the fruits showed IC50<10 in case of lung cancer cells whereas karonda seed extract also showed IC50<10 in case of colon cancer cells. To conclude, karonda and jamun seeds possess certain constituents with cytotoxic properties that can be used to develop anticancer agents especially for lung cancer therapy and to provide a great service to cancer patients, further studies are required for the isolation of active ingredients from these seeds

    Virilization is a portentous sign that suggests the possibility of an ovarian or adrenal neoplasm. Diagnosis may be delayed in some patients due to nonspecific symptoms and overlapping symptoms with that of polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). However, it must be remembered that PCOS usually causes mild to moderate elevation of serum testosterone with hirsutism whereas serum testosterone levels are many times elevated in cases of androgen secreting tumors and virilization is a norm. So high testosterone level with new onset virilization rule out PCOS. Authors are reporting two cases of Sertoli Leydig cell tumor despite their similar histopathology and equivalent levels of serum testosterone had a varied clinical spectrum of virilization
