Along with recent development in Next Generation IoT, the Deep Learning (DL) has become a promising paradigm to perform various tasks such as computation and analysis. Many security researchers have proposed distributed DL supporting DL task at the IoT device level to deliver low latency and high accuracy. However, due to limited computing capabilities of IoT devices, distributed DL is failed to maintain Quality-of-service demand in practical IoT applications. To this end, BlockDeepEdge, a Blockchain-based Distributed DL with Mobile Edge Computing (MEC) is proposed where MEC supports the lightweight IoT devices by delivering computing operations to them at the edge of the network. The blockchain provide a secure, decentralized and P2P interaction among IoT devices and MEC server to carryout distributed DL operation

The present study was carried out to evaluate the possible synergistic interactions on antioxidant efficacy of some selected flavonoids in the present study, synergistic antioxidant effects of two flavonoids, rutin and quercetin, have been investigated by. DPPH, NO, free radical scavenging assays. Biological free radicals are highly unstable molecules that react with various organic substrates such as lipids, proteins, DNA causing cellular injury. At high concentrations, they generate oxidative stress, a damaging process that can damage all cell structures. At present, the research is focused on the use of antioxidants in preventing many diseases caused by the free radicals. The study was designed to evaluate in vitro antioxidant potential of quercetin, rutin, individually and synergistic antioxidant effects by using various in-vitro antioxidant assays i.e. DPPH, NO, assays.  The scavenging effect of quercetin, rutin and standard on the DPPH radical was 83±2.71 %, 79±1.51% and 86±1.04 % at 60μg/ml. On NO Quercetin, rutin and standard exhibited 83±0.09 %, 76±0.09 % and 85±0.22%. The scavenging activity increased in a dose dependent manner. The results indicate drugs shows significant free radical scavenging and their combination demonstrated considerable synergistic effect as compared to standard. Keywords: Quercetin, Rutin, Free radical scavenging, Antioxidan

Background: Socioeconomic structure, policies and cultural traditions play important roles in the determining the epidemiological characteristics of spinal injury patients. An understanding of epidemiology of spinal injuries is essential for planning and implementation of preventive measures as well as clinical services. The objective of this study is to describe the epidemiology of spinal injury patients admitted to the Department of Orthopaedics, King George Medical University (KGMU).Methods: Age, sex, time since injury to admission, site of injury, mechanism of injury, stability of injury, vertebral level, collision type, visibility, type of road, associated injuries, complications and outcome at the end of hospital stay was recorded. Results: Mean age of the 149 enrolled patients was 33.62±13.47 years. Male to female ratio was 2.63. More than fifty percent (52.3%) patients were admitted more than 48 hrs after injury. Most of the patients sustained injury in the house (59.1%). Falls were the most common mechanism of injury (79.2%). 54.23% of the falls were less than body height. Stable injuries (51%) were more common than unstable injuries. 21.48% patients had multiple levels of injury. 1st lumbar vertebra was the most common vertebra injured (20.88%). Ninty six (64.42%) patients had associated injuries. Most common complication were pulmonary (16.10%).Conclusions: Traumatic spinal injuries predominantly involve young males. Household falls are the most common cause of traumatic spinal injuries. There is a need to determine the modifiable factors that contribute to household falls. There is a significant association between falls and complete injuries.

The paper aims to analyze the information needs of Indian Members of Parliament (MPs) related to the rural and urban development in their constituency or region. Rural Connectivity is a key component of the rural development, thus the current study explores the level of awareness of Indian MPs about the status of rural connectivity with the Urban areas and rural accessibility via various means of Transport available for the people in their region/constituency for Intercity and Interstate Travel. The implementation of various Government schemes for the development of rural India by the Indian MPs has also been studied. The data is collected through survey methodology with the help of a predefined structured questionnaire including interview method to get the exact insight about the rural and urban development information needs of Indian MPs. The survey results were tabulated and analyzed with the help of descriptive statistical methods and hypothesis testing is done with Pearson\u27s Chi Square testing technique. The findings reveals that the majority of people use Auto Rickshaw (98.7%) and Taxi (98.7%) followed by Rickshaw (93.6%) for local travelling in their area or region. The major modes of transportation available in the constituencies are Bus (100%) & Rail (97.4%) respectively. The majority of MPs have implemented \u27Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana\u27 (i.e. 94.9%) and \u27Pradhan Mantri Aawaas Yojna\u27 (i.e. 89.5%) in the villages/rural areas of their constituencies. The majority of MPs have responded that HDFC Bank is the Top loan provider agency in both Rural (23) and Urban (24) areas respectively. Lastly, the study concludes that highest number of beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Aawaas Yojna (PMAY) are from North region (i.e., 4,01,100) of India followed by 2,78,920 beneficiaries from Central region and 2,45,600 beneficiaries respectively from South region

Cereal cyst nematode (CCN) is a major threat to cereal crop production globally including wheat (Triticum aestivum L.). In the present study, single-locus and multi-locus models of Genome-Wide Association Study (GWAS) were used to find marker trait associations (MTAs) against CCN (Heterodera avenae) in wheat. In total, 180 wheat accessions (100 spring and 80 winter types) were screened against H. avenae in two independent years (2018/2019 "Environment 1" and 2019/2020 "Environment 2") under controlled conditions. A set of 12,908 SNP markers were used to perform the GWAS. Altogether, 11 significant MTAs, with threshold value of -log10 (p-values) >/= 3.0, were detected using 180 wheat accessions under combined environment (CE). A novel MTA (wsnp_Ex_c53387_56641291) was detected under all environments (E1, E2 and CE) and considered to be stable MTA. Among the identified 11 MTAs, eight were novel and three were co-localized with previously known genes/QTLs/MTAs. In total, 13 putative candidate genes showing differential expression in roots, and known to be involved in plant defense mechanisms were reported. These MTAs could help us to identify resistance alleles from new sources, which could be used to identify wheat varieties with enhanced CCN resistance

    Get PDF
The wearing out of the occlusal surfaces of the acrylic teeth of a complete denture with its use over a period of time is a common phenomenon. Other factors which lead to the wearing of denture teeth are some unconditional forces & eating habits of the edentulous patients. Following a successful insertion of the complete denture with acrylic teeth the dentures were taken back from the patient & the occlusal surfaces have been modified with cast metal using the lost wax technique. The final restorations were cemented on the prepared plastic teeth. This article describes a simplified method for making cast metal occlusal surfaces & to improve the retention of the same with the underlying plastic structure
