Synthesis of Mn0.2Zn0.8Fe2O4 particles by high energy ball milling and their applications
Ultra fine Mn0.2Zn0.8Fe2O4 magnetic particles are developed by high energy ball milling technique and investigated for physical properties. The crystalline phase, crystallite size, surface morphology, metal oxide bonding and porosity of these magnetic particles are analyzed. The porosity increases on increasing the grinding period due to decrease in the particle size and crystallinity reduces. The IR spectra measured in the range of 4000-400 cm-1 exhibit symmetric stretching mode of (FeO4) and (ZnO4) tetrahedral at 669.7 cm-1 and 545.6 cm-1. The lattice strain induced by ball milling process has been determined. The porosity plays an important role in chemisorption and physisorption of species on the sites of the particles. Background. Bone metastasis is very common in the advanced stage of numerous carcinomas. In penile carcinoma, lymph nodes metastasis is somehow common but it is very rare reported to be secondary from penile cancer. till the date, there are only few cases of penis carcinoma reported bone metastasis in literature worldwide.Case Presentation. Herein, We presented a 51-year-old Nepalese male with squamous cell carcinoma of penis. computed tomography (ct) scan of the patient revealed that there was carcinoma involving glans penis and precure with bilateral external & internal inguinal lymphadenopathies. After then, the patient was under gone for partial penectomy and bilateral inguinal lymphadenectomy and complete 6-cycle chemotherapy. After one year of treatment, patient developed thigh pain and headache and he advised to have magnetic Resonance imaging (mRi) of brain, 99mTc-MDP whole body bone scan and ct scan of pelvis and thigh. The examination report reveals that there was a sclerotic change in vertex of skull bone and moderate 99mTc-MDP uptake in right proximal shaft of femur just below the neck d/d metastasis. The histopathological examination of the true cut biopsy taken from the lesion of the femur showed metastatic keratinizing squamous cell carcinoma which is rare case of femoral shaft bone metastasis secondary from penile carcinoma. Then patient was sent for surgical reconstruction of femur. Based on the case studies review femur shaft bone metastasis from penile cancer is extremely rare.Conclusion. Cloud-scale VM Deflation for Running Interactive Applications On Transient Servers
Transient computing has become popular in public cloud environments for
running delay-insensitive batch and data processing applications at low cost.
Since transient cloud servers can be revoked at any time by the cloud provider,
they are considered unsuitable for running interactive application such as web
services. In this paper, we present VM deflation as an alternative mechanism to
server preemption for reclaiming resources from transient cloud servers under
resource pressure. Using real traces from top-tier cloud providers, we show the
feasibility of using VM deflation as a resource reclamation mechanism for
interactive applications in public clouds. We show how current hypervisor
mechanisms can be used to implement VM deflation and present cluster deflation
policies for resource management of transient and on-demand cloud VMs.
Experimental evaluation of our deflation system on a Linux cluster shows that
microservice-based applications can be deflated by up to 50\% with negligible
performance overhead. Our cluster-level deflation policies allow overcommitment
levels as high as 50\%, with less than a 1\% decrease in application
throughput, and can enable cloud platforms to increase revenue by 30\%.Comment: To appear at ACM HPDC 202
Docetaxel-induced photolichenoid eruption
A 58-year-old man presented with complaints of blackish discoloration
of forearms and face of five months duration. The lesions occurred
episodically after taking anti-cancer medications, each episode lasting
for two weeks. Histopathology confirmed a lichenoid eruption.

study is to evaluate the anti-diarrhoeal activity of the petroleum ether extract
of leaves of Quisqualis indica L.
against experimentally induced diarrhoea. Petroleum ether extract of the drug
were evaluated for anti-diarrhoeal
activity, using experimentally induced diarrhoea models: castor-oil induced
diarrhoea, and charcoal induced gastrointestinal motility test in albino wistar
rats of either sex. The earlier reported
preliminary phytochemical screening of petroleum ether extracts revealed
the presence of alkaloids, glycosides, flavonoids, tannins and phenolic
compounds. petroleum ether
extract of Quisqualis indica L. leaves
at the doses (100, 200 mg/kg, p.o) were administered through the oral route.
The plant extracts exhibited dose dependent anti-diarrhoeal effects in the all
treated groups and the results were compared with that of standard drugs (Loperamide
(3 mg/kg, p.o) and Atropine sulphate (0.1 mg/kg intraperitoneal), respectively as
reference standard drugs. Statistically processed results support the
conclusion, that the petroleum ether extracts of Quisqualis indica L. leaves (100 mg/kg and 200 mg/kg)
possesses dose dependent, significant (P<0.05)
antidiarrhoeal activity against experimentally induced diarrhoea.
