In this paper we consider class of continuous functions, called quasiaharmonic functions, admitting best approximations by harmonic polynomials. In this class we prove a uniqueness theorem by analogy with the analytic functions

Non-Specific Prophylaxis in the Tien Shan High-Mountain Natural Plague Focus: Past and Present

    Get PDF
Since 1943, in the territory of Kirgizia in the Tien Shan high-mountain natural plague focus, the methods and measures of non-specific prophylaxis, aimed at extermination of the main carriers, grey souslik, and elimination of vectors - the fleas, have been developed and implemented. Established has been the fact that subsurface application of pulicide inside the souslik holes is more efficient in the context of long-term suppression of focal epizootic activity, rather than the elimination of carriers themselves. Presently, for epizootic inter-phase (resting stage) maintaining local treatments with environmentally-safe pesticides in the areas of continuous plague agent persistence and epizooties activation are performed

Current Epizootic Condition of Natural Plague Foci in Kyrgyz Republic and Measures Aimed at Provision of Epidemiological Welfare as regards Plague

    Get PDF
Objective of the study is to characterize the mountain plague foci in Tien Shan and Pamir-Alai, to assess the results of the performed field disinsection activities, to describe the current epizootic condition of natural foci in Kyrgyz Republic and measures aimed at provision of epidemiological welfare as regards plague. Materials and methods. Archival epizootic and epidemiological data from the Republican Center of Quarantine and Particularly Dangerous Infections, Ministry of Health of Kyrgyz Republic, as well as copyright author’s materials were used for the analysis. Results and Conclusions. It is noted that following sanitation activities in 1971–1989, using deep disinsection of marmot burrows, epizootic activity of Tien Shan and Alai natural foci significantly decreased, up to long inter-epizootic periods. In the light of revitalization of high-mountain plague foci in Kyrgyz Republic, epizootiological monitoring of enzootic territories has been considerably strengthened, control over the state of populations of main agent carriers and vectors has been improved. In order to lower the risk of infection, 1750 km2 of the focal territories were treated twice, using deep disinsection of marmot burrows applying ecologically safe insecticides, in particular “Absolute-dust”

Group analysis and exact solutions of a class of variable coefficient nonlinear telegraph equations

A complete group classification of a class of variable coefficient (1+1)-dimensional telegraph equations f(x)utt=(H(u)ux)x+K(u)uxf(x)u_{tt}=(H(u)u_x)_x+K(u)u_x, is given, by using a compatibility method and additional equivalence transformations. A number of new interesting nonlinear invariant models which have non-trivial invariance algebras are obtained. Furthermore, the possible additional equivalence transformations between equations from the class under consideration are investigated. Exact solutions of special forms of these equations are also constructed via classical Lie method and generalized conditional transformations. Local conservation laws with characteristics of order 0 of the class under consideration are classified with respect to the group of equivalence transformations.Comment: 23 page

Fixed duration pursuit-evasion differential game with integral constraints

    Get PDF
We investigate a pursuit-evasion differential game of countably many pursuers and one evader. Integral constraints are imposed on control functions of the players. Duration of the game is fixed and the payoff of the game is infimum of the distances between the evader and pursuers when the game is completed. Purpose of the pursuers is to minimize the payoff and that of the evader is to maximize it. Optimal strategies of the players are constructed, and the value of the game is found. It should be noted that energy resource of any pursuer may be less than that of the evader
