    Sr, Nd Pb isotopic characteristics of granulite and pyroxenite xenoliths in Hannuoba basalts, Hebei Province, and their implications for geologic processes

    Rb-Sr, Sm-Nd and Pb isotopic systematics are reported for granulite and pyroxenite xenoliths in Hannuoba basalts, Hebei Province. The isotopic characteristics of xenoliths suggest t hat they might have formed recently , although there is no strict constraint on the precise age. The decoupling of low Rb/Sr and high [87]Sr/[86]Sr ratios implies the multi-stage evolution history and strong mixing processes. There are close ties between granulite and pyroxenites with different mineral assemblages on the Sr-Nd, Pb-Sr and Pb-Nd correlation figures. The granulite is the common end-member o f the three kinds o f pyroxenite.     河北汉诺坝玄武岩中长英质麻粒岩、镁铁质麻粒岩和辉石岩捕虏体的主量元素和微量元素特征, 反映了下地壳及壳鳗过渡带组成具有高度化学不均一性。不相容元素原始地慢标准化曲线特征的差异表明捕虏体成因复杂。MgO 与不相容元素无或仅有很弱的相关性, 与相容元素的相关性则相对较明显。这些特征反映了下地壳及壳慢过渡带存在较强和多元的混合作用。捕虏体的加权平均值比基于麻粒岩地体资料估算的下地壳平均组成偏基性, 揭示了二者可能的成因差异。The major and trace element data of granulite and pyroxenite xenoliths, which are entrained in Hannuoba basalt Hebei Province, North China, suggest the highly chemical heterogeneity in the lower crust and crust-mantle transitional zone. There is no or only POor linear correlation between MgO and incompatible elements. Whereas a bit remarked correlations are observed between MgO and most compatible elements.The geochemical characteristics suggest that the strong and multiple mixing processes may have Occurred universally both in the lower crust and crust-mantle transitional zone. The weighed average composition of xenoliths shows a more mafic composition of the lower crust than that estimated from granulite data, which may imply the difference in the genesis.published_or_final_versio

    A Design and Implementation of an Ambulatory Electrocardiogram (ECG) Acquisition Circuit for Emergency Application

    © 2018 IEEE. This paper presents the design and development of an ECG data acquisition circuit for emergency applications. The ECG signal extraction method and the design of the analogue front-end circuit are discussed. This design has been implemented in a printed circuit board (PCB), with comparable size to a 50 cent Australian coin. By applying the testing approach with this prototype, the output ECG trace quality is overall satisfactory with a clear display of QRS complex and certain robustness to motion artifacts

    Propagation of coherent waves in elastically scattering media

    A general method for calculating statistical properties of speckle patterns of coherent waves propagating in disordered media is developed. It allows one to calculate speckle pattern correlations in space, as well as their sensitivity to external parameters. This method, which is similar to the Boltzmann-Langevin approach for the calculation of classical fluctuations, applies for a wide range of systems: From cases where the ray propagation is diffusive to the regime where the rays experience only small angle scattering. The latter case comprises the regime of directed waves where rays propagate ballistically in space while their directions diffuse. We demonstrate the applicability of the method by calculating the correlation function of the wave intensity and its sensitivity to the wave frequency and the angle of incidence of the incoming wave.Comment: 19 pages, 5 figure

    UAV Swarm Mission Planning in Dynamic Environment Using Consensus-Based Bundle Algorithm.

    To solve the real-time complex mission-planning problem for Multiple heterogeneous Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) in the dynamic environments, this paper addresses a new approach by effectively adapting the Consensus-Based Bundle Algorithms (CBBA) under the constraints of task timing, limited UAV resources, diverse types of tasks, dynamic addition of tasks, and real-time requirements. We introduce the dynamic task generation mechanism, which satisfied the task timing constraints. The tasks that require the cooperation of multiple UAVs are simplified into multiple sub-tasks to perform by a single UAV independently. We also introduce the asynchronous task allocation mechanism. This mechanism reduces the computational complexity of the algorithm and the communication time between UAVs. The partial task redistribution mechanism has been adopted for achieving the dynamic task allocation. The real-time performance of the algorithm is assured on the premise of optimal results. The feasibility and real-time performance of the algorithm are validated by conducting dynamic simulation experiments

    Local chromatin dynamics of transcription factors imply cell-lineage specific functions during cellular differentiation

    Chromatin dynamics across cellular differentiation states is an emerging perspective from which the mechanism of global gene expression regulation may be better understood. While the roles of some histone marks have been partially interpreted in terms of their association with gene transcription, the dynamics of histone marks from a loci-specific perspective during cellular differentiation is not well studied. We established a method to systematically assess the histone modification variations of genes across various cellular differentiation states. We calculated the histone modification variation scores of H3K4me3, H3K27me3 and H3K36me3 for over 1300 curated transcription factors (TFs) during human blood cell differentiation. Hematopoietic-specific TFs (identified by literature mining) were significantly overrepresented by TFs with higher histone modification variation scores. Hierarchical clustering of all TFs based on the histone modification variation scores defined a group of TFs where known or potential hematopoietic-specific TFs were remarkably enriched. Our results suggest that local chromatin state dynamics of transcription factors across cellular differentiation states could imply cell lineage-specific functions. More importantly, our method can be applied to broader systems, holding the promise to discover de novo, lineage-specific TFs by interrogating their histone modification dynamics across cell lineages

    Note on New KLT relations

    In this short note, we present two results about KLT relations discussed in recent several papers. Our first result is the re-derivation of Mason-Skinner MHV amplitude by applying the S_{n-3} permutation symmetric KLT relations directly to MHV amplitude. Our second result is the equivalence proof of the newly discovered S_{n-2} permutation symmetric KLT relations and the well-known S_{n-3} permutation symmetric KLT relations. Although both formulas have been shown to be correct by BCFW recursion relations, our result is the first direct check using the regularized definition of the new formula.Comment: 15 Pages; v2: minor correction

    On tree amplitudes with gluons coupled to gravitons

    In this paper, we study the tree amplitudes with gluons coupled to gravitons. We first study the relations among the mixed amplitudes. With BCFW on-shell recursion relation, we will show the color-order reversed relation, U(1)U(1)-decoupling relation and KK relation hold for tree amplitudes with gluons coupled to gravitons. We then study the disk relation which expresses mixed amplitudes by pure gluon amplitudes. More specifically we will prove the disk relation for mixed amplitudes with gluons coupled to one graviton. Using the disk relation and the properties of pure gluon amplitudes, the color-order reversed relation, U(1)U(1)-decoupling relation and KK relation for mixed amplitudes can also be proved.     Quality of Service Provisioning for Heterogeneous Services in Cognitive Radio-enabled Internet of Things

    IEEE The Internet of Things (IoT) is a network of interconnected objects, in which every object in the world seeks to communicate and exchange information actively. This exponential growth of interconnected objects increases the demand for wireless spectrum. However, providing wireless channel access to every communicating object while ensuring its guaranteed quality of service (QoS) requirements is challenging and has not yet been explored, especially for IoT-enabled mission-critical applications and services. Meanwhile, Cognitive Radio-enabled Internet of Things (CR-IoT) is an emerging field that is considered the future of IoT. The combination of CR technology and IoT can better handle the increasing demands of various applications such as manufacturing, logistics, retail, environment, public safety, healthcare, food, and drugs. However, due to the limited and dynamic resource availability, CR-IoT cannot accommodate all types of users. In this paper, we first examine the availability of a licensed channel on the basis of its primary users' activities (e.g., traffic patterns). Second, we propose a priority-based secondary user (SU) call admission and channel allocation scheme, which is further based on a priority-based dynamic channel reservation scheme. The objective of our study is to reduce the blocking probability of higher-priority SU calls while maintaining a sufficient level of channel utilization. The arrival rates of SU calls of all priority classes are estimated using a Markov chain model, and further channels for each priority class are reserved based on this analysis. We compare the performance of the proposed scheme with the greedy non-priority and fair proportion schemes in terms of the SU call-blocking probability, SU call-dropping probability, channel utilization, and throughput. Numerical results show that the proposed priority scheme outperforms the greedy non-priority and fair proportion schemes

    Effect of end-groups on sulfobetaine homopolymers with the tunable upper critical solution temperature (UCST)

    One-step syntheses of well-defined Poly(3-((2-(Methacryloyloxy) ethyl) (dimethyl) ammonio)-1-propanesulfonate) (PDMAPS) with a carboxylic acid end-functional reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) agent and further end-group modification were described. The upper critical solution temperature (UCST) of homo-zwitterions can be precisely adjusted by the surrounding pH due to the presence of a carboxyl end-group. Meanwhile, after esterification of the carboxylic acid group by methyl, ethyl, hexyl, phenethyl alcohol, UCST of all resulted PDMAPS with ester terminated groups showed more significant increases. Dynamic light scattering (DLS), Zeta-potential and small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) results demonstrated that the ionization/protonation from the carboxylic end-group and hydrophobicity of ester groups contribute significantly to the tunability. This end-group modification technique provides an easy and economical way of synthesizing temperature-responsive homo-polyzwitterions with precise and controllable temperature range owing to the designability of RAFT polymerization, where the products are suitable for biomedical and environmental engineering applications
