Turkey's tourism policies in the period of planned development

The purpose of this study is to investigate the tourism policies of Turkey in the period of planned development which started in 1963. It is a descriptive study in terms of purpose and a qualitative study in terms of data. The data were obtained from secondary sources and analyzed using descriptive analysis technique. According to the five-year development plans and the Tourism Strategy of Turkey 2023 document, Turkey's tourism policies have been created economically. In particular, the first four plans have often emphasized the economic orientation of tourism and mass tourism. The fifth plan highlighted the diversification of tourism, while the sixth plan highlighted the participation of the local community in tourism. The seventh plan aims to meet the expectations of local people and tourists with a competitive and productive tourism economy. The eighth, ninth and tenth plans have emphasized that the investments paying attention to physical and cultural environment should be supported for spread of tourism all over the country and year. Moreover, in the last three development plans and Tourism Strategy of Turkey-2023 document, the participation of different stakeholders in decision mechanisms and focusing on the tourism types generating more tourism revenue policies have been adopted

Wage and performance components in the Turkish construction sector and perception of justice on wages.

Bu çalışmanın amacı; Türk inşaat sektöründe faaliyet gösteren teknik elemanların motivasyonunu ve verimliliğini arttırabilecek bir ücretlendirme sistemi oluşturulabilmesi için ücretlerine etki eden faktörlerin analiz edilmesidir. Çalışma sonuçları kişinin demografik özelliklerinin ve şirket/proje özelliklerinin teknik elemanların ücretlerinde etkili olduğunu göstermiştir. Ayrıca çalışanların mevcut ücret sistemlerinden dolayı örgütsel adalet algılarının düşük olduğu gözlemlenmiştir. Çalışmanın sonucunda ücret ve performans bileşenleri belirlenmiş ve hem sektörel, hem de akademik öneriler sunulmuştur.Human resource is one of the key sources for project-type productions which is the one of the labor-intensive productions. Achieving the motivation and efficiency of manpower is very important in terms of project success. The purpose of this study is; to analyze the factors affecting the wages in order to create a compensation system that can increase the motivation and efficiency of the technical staff working in the Turkish construction sector. The results of the study has shown that both the demographic characteristics of the employee and the company/project features are effective on the wages of technical staff. In addition, it has been determined that the organizational justice perceptions of the employees are low due to the existing wage systems within the industry. Wage and performance components have also been determined by the findings of the study and both sectoral and academic recommendations are presented

Evaluation of the Performance of Equity Funds in Turkey

Purpose – The young population, the ongoing inflation problem, dynamic market structure, and the ongoing geopolitical risks place Turkey in a unique position in comparison with other emerging markets. Recently, with the decrease in interest rates, the demand for stocks has surged and the number of stock investors has increased by 30% in a short period of time. This situation has boosted the need for equity funds, and it has become important to measure the performance of these funds effectively. The purpose of this study is to measure the performance of stock funds and to determine the statistical significance levels of the fund performances announced to the public on the TEFAS platform. Design/methodology/approach – In this study the performance of equity funds in Turkey has been tested by following the FF3F approach. Firstly, reference portfolios to be used for performance comparison were created. Then stock-based performances of all equity funds that operate continuously in Turkey during the last five years were tested. Findings – According to the findings of the research, it was observed that the funds on average had performances exceeding the index. However, it has been determined that the results in the TEFAS platform may not be very meaningful when comparing the stock funds among themselves. Discussion – Although the performance difference between the funds is high according to the TEFAS platform data, it has been determined that this difference is due to the investment of some funds in small scale companies and is not sustainable

STOCK SELECTION TIMING SKILLS OF EQUITY FUND MANAGERS IN TURKEY

Bu çalışmada, hisse senedi fonlarının hisse senedi seçimlerindeki zamanlama yetenekleri araştırılmıştır. Araştırma, Türkiye’de 2015 ve 2020 yılları arasında aralıksız 5 yıl faaliyet göstermiş olan 20 adet hisse senedi fonuna ait hisse senedi pozisyonlarının performansını kapsamaktadır. Araştırmada fon bazında yapılan analizlerde t testi sonuçlarına göre ağırlığı artan ve azalan hisselerin takip eden performansları arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı fark yoktur. Fonların toplamı baz alınarak oluşturulan gruplarda ise istatistiksel olarak %1 anlam derecesinde, ağırlığı artırılan hisselerin, ağırlığı azalan hisselere kıyasla %1,8 oranında daha fazla performans gösterdiği tespit edilmiştir. Fakat yeni açılan ve tamamen kapatılan pozisyonlar arasında performans farkı bulunmamaktadır. Araştırma bulgularına göre, hisse senetleri fonlarının özellikle ağırlıklarını artırdıkları hisse senetlerinde zamanlama yeteneği söz konusudur. This research has been implemented in Turkey and included 20 equity funds’ stock positions between 2015 and 2020. In the analysis made based on the specific funds in the research, no statistically significant difference was found between the subsequent performances of the stocks whose weight increased and decreased according to t-test results. Based on the overall performance of all funds, it was determined that the stocks whose weight has been increased have 1.8% higher performance compared to the stocks whose weight has been decreased, with a statistical significance of 1%. But there is no difference in performance between newly opened and completely closed positions. According to the findings of the research, it has been determined that equity funds have the timing skills especially in stocks whose weight has been increased. İNŞAAT SEKTÖRÜNDE TOPLU KORUMA SİSTEMLERİNİNKULLANIMI – GÜVENLİK AĞI UYGULAMALARI

İnşaat sektöründe iş sağlığı ve güvenliği uygulamalarında KKD kullanımı çok önemli olmakla beraber toplu koruma sistemlerinin de kullanımı ve düzgün uygulanması büyük önem taşımaktadır. Yüksekte yapılan işler, ölümlü kaza ve sakatlanma riskinin en fazla olduğu iş grubunu oluşturmaktadır. KKD kullanımıyla beraber toplu düşmeyi durdurma sistemleri olan güvenlik ağları da çalışanlara pasif koruma sağlamaktadır. İnşaat firmalarının toplu koruma önlemlerine yaklaşımlarının incelenmesi amacıyla şantiyelerdeki güvenlik ağı uygulamaları incelenmiş ve eksiklikler belirlenerek firmalara öneriler sunulmuştu

Critical Success Factors for Successful Supply Chain Management Applications of Construction Firms

İnşaat sektörü ülkelerin ekonomik gelişmesinde önemli bir role sahiptir. İnşaat proje bazlı bir üretim olup, hammadde, makine, finans, teknoloji ve insan kaynağının etkin ve verimli kullanımını gerektirir. Tedarik Zinciri Yönetimi yenilikçi bir yönetim stratejisi olarak inşaat projelerinin verimliliğini ve etkinliğini artırmak için yapım yönetiminde temel bir unsur haline gelmiştir. Bu çalışma Türkiye?de hizmet veren yüklenici firmaların tedarik zinciri yönetimi uygulanmasında başarıya ulaşabilmeleri için ön plana çıkan kritik başarı faktörlerinin belirlenmesine odaklanmaktadır. Konu ile ilgili veri toplanması amacıyla bir anket düzenlenmiştir. Toplanan veriler faktör analizi yapılarak değerlendirilmiş ve kritik başarı faktörleri belirlenmiştir.Construction sector has an important role in the economic development of each country. Yapı Denetim Firmalarının Proje Denetim ve Uygulama Sürecinde Karşılaştıkları Sorunlar

Ülkemizde Yapı Denetimi ile ilgili 2001 yılı sonrasında yapılan resmi düzenlemeler yapı kalitesini arttırmakla beraber sorunların tam olarak çözülmesini sağlamamıştır. Bu çalışmada, yapı denetim firmalarının proje denetim ve uygulama sürecinde karşılaştıkları sorunları ve bu sorunların kaynaklarını belirlemek amacıyla Adana ilinde faaliyet gösteren 73 yapı denetim firması çalışanına bir anket çalışması yapılmıştır. Yapı denetim firması çalışanlarının karşılaştıkları hatalar ve nedenleri belirlenmiş ve sürecin iyileştirilmesi için inşaat sektöründeki tüm paydaşlara öneriler sunulmuştu
