Exploring the IT usage in SMEs from New Zealand, Columbia and Chile using action-research methodology
The theory on the adoption and use of information technology (IT) in small and medium enterprises (SMEs) is abundant. However, methodologically speaking, action-research (AR) has been little explored as a method of construction of this theory, despite the use of this methodology could improve understanding of how SMEs use IT. Therefore, we researched the use of IT in SMEs using a methodology adapted from AR. The methodology was tested in companies from New Zealand, Colombia and Chile. The use of this methodology was well evaluated by the top management of SMEs, in fact, the recommendations coming from the analysis were well received by the management of participants. These results are auspicious regarding the use of AR in SMEs and could help encourage other researchers to use this methodology, which remains little used in information systems research
When is the Haar measure a Pietsch measure for nonlinear mappings?
We show that, as in the linear case, the normalized Haar measure on a compact
topological group is a Pietsch measure for nonlinear summing mappings on
closed translation invariant subspaces of . This answers a question posed
to the authors by J. Diestel. We also show that our result applies to several
well-studied classes of nonlinear summing mappings. In the final section some
problems are proposed
All-optical 3D atomic loops generated with Bessel light fields
The propagation invariance of Bessel beams as well as their transversal
structure are used to perform a comparative analysis of their effect on cold
atoms for four different configurations and combinations thereof. We show that,
even at temperatures for which the classical description of the atom center of
mass motion is valid, the interchange of momentum, energy and orbital angular
momentum between light and atoms yields efficient tools for all-optical
trapping, transporting and, in general, manipulating the state of motion of

Multiplicative structures of hypercyclic functions for convolution operators
In this note, it is proved the existence of an infinitely generated
multiplicative group consisting of entire functions that are, except for the
constant function 1, hypercyclic with respect to the convolution operator
associated to a given entire function of subexponential type. A certain
stability under multiplication is also shown for compositional hypercyclicity

A space-time DPG method for the wave equation in multiple dimensions
A space-time discontinuous PetrovâGalerkin (DPG) method for the linear wave equation is presented. This method is based on a weak formulation that uses a broken graph space. The well-posedness of this formulation is established using a previously presented abstract framework. One of the main tasks in the verification of the conditions of this framework is proving a density result. This is done in detail for a simple domain in arbitrary dimensions. The DPG method based on the weak formulation is then studied theoretically and numerically. Error estimates and numerical results are presented for triangular, rectangular, tetrahedral, and hexahedral meshes of the space-time domain.
