Regulation of ligand-independent notch signal through intracellular trafficking
Notch signaling is an evolutionarily conserved mechanism that defines a key cell fate control mechanism in metazoans. Notch signaling relies on the surface interaction between the Notch receptor and membrane bound ligands in an apposing cell. In our recent study, we uncover a non-canonical receptor activation path that relies on a ligand-independent, intracellular activation of the receptor as it travels through the endosomal compartments. We found that Notch receptor, targeted for degradation lysosomal degradation through multivesicular bodies (MVBs) is “diverted” toward activation upon mono-ubiquitination through a synergy between the ubiquitin ligase Deltex, the non-visual β-arrestin Kurtz and the ESCRT-III component Shrub. This activation path is not universal but appears to depend on the cellular context
To freeze or not to: Quantum correlations under local decoherence
We provide necessary and sufficient conditions for freezing of quantum
correlations as measured by quantum discord and quantum work deficit in the
case of bipartite as well as multipartite states subjected to local noisy
channels. We recognize that inhomogeneity of the magnetizations of the shared
quantum states plays an important role in the freezing phenomena. We show that
the frozen value of the quantum correlation and the time interval for freezing
follow a complementarity relation. For states which do not exhibit "exact"
freezing, but can be frozen "effectively", by having a very slow decay rate
with suitable tuning of the state parameters, we introduce an index -- the
freezing index -- to quantify the goodness of freezing. We find that the
freezing index can be used to detect quantum phase transitions and discuss the

On Orientifold Constructions of Type IIA Dual Pairs
In this paper we analyze the earlier constructions of the type IIA dual pairs
through orientifolding. By an appropriate choice of -matrix basis for
the spinor representations of the -duality group, we give an explicit

Symmetries of Heterotic String Theory
We study the symmetries of the two dimensional Heterotic string theory by
following the approach of Kinnersley et al for the study of stationary-axially
symmetric Einstein-Maxwell equations. We identify the finite dimensional groups
and for the Einstein-Maxwell equations. We also give the
constructions for the infinite number of conserved currents and the affine
symmetry algebra in this formulation. The generalized Ehlers
and Harrison transformations are identified and a parallel between the infinite

PHYTOCHEMICALS IN THE TREATMENT OF ARTHRITIS: CURRENT KNOWLEDGE
The objective of the present review is to evaluate the therapeutic potential of phytochemicals against arthritis, which is asymptomatic disorder of chronic joint inflammation followed by swelling and pain. Here, we discussed about the anti-arthritic activity of many phytomolecules such as Norisoboldine, Berberine, Triptolide, Hesperidin Hesperidin, Madecassocide, Hydroxy napthoquinone, Ginsenoside, Cryptotanshinone, Kirenol, Thymoquinone, Chlorogenic acid, Curcumin, Bromelain, Andrographolide and Allicin. These compounds are able to control inflammatory responses, proinflammatory cytokines, osteoclast differentiation and to prevent bone erosion in the joints. In this article, we reviewed anti-arthritic activities of phytichemicals from 2011-2019, using various scientific websites like PubMed, Google Scholar, Science Direct etc. Till date clinical trials conducted with anti-arthritic phytomolecules are very less. Hence, more clinical trials are needed to bring plant molecules as safe and effective anti-arthritic drugs in the market, either alone or in combination with other anti-arthritic agents
Oscillating D-Strings from IIB Matrix Theory
We present a class of BPS solutions of the IIB Matrix Theory which preserve
1/4 supersymmetry. The solutions desrcibe D-string configurations with
left-moving oscillations. We demonstrate that the one-loop quantum effective
action of Matrix Theory vanishes for this solution, confirming its BPS nature.

Fortification of orange juice with microencapsulated Kocuria flava Y4 towards a novel functional beverage: Biological and quality aspects
To commercialize functional foods, probiotics must exhibit high resistance and acceptable stability under various unfavorable conditions to maintain the quality of fruit juices. This study will provide an insight into fortification of orange juice with a plant probiotic Kocuria flava Y4 by microencapsulation. Therefore, this study investigated the colony release, physicochemical and phytochemical parameters, and antioxidant activity of the orange juice exposed to microencapsulated probiotics and the one without probiotics (control). Evaluation of orange juice on the growth of probiotic bacteria showed that the fortification with alginate and psyllium micro-particles showed highest encapsulation efficiency (99.01%) and acceptable viability of probiotic cells (8.12 ± 0.077 CFU/mL) during five weeks storage at 4 °C. The morphology and functional properties of beads was studied by SEM, Zeta-potential and FTIR analysis. The sucrose and organic acids concentrations decreased significantly during fortification period (0–72 h) except ascorbic acid. Furthermore, glucose, pH, acidity, TSS were maintained. The results affirm the suitability and feasibility of developing a plant probiotic beverage using orange juice by encapsulation method
A similar to 50 ka record of monsoonal variability in the Darjeeling foothill region, eastern Himalayas
Pollen, phytoliths and delta C-13 signatures of soil organic matter from two fluvial sedimentary sequences of the Darjeeling foothill region, eastern Himalayas are used to portray palaeoclimatic oscillations and their impact on regional plant communities over the last similar to 50 ka. Quantitative palaeoclimate estimation using coexistence approach on pollen data and other proxies indicate significant oscillations in precipitation during the late part of MIS 3 (46.4-25.9 ka), early and middle part of MIS 2 (25.9-15.6 ka), and 5.4 to 3.5 ka. Middle to late MIS 3 (ca 46.4-31 ka.) was characterized by a comparatively low monsoonal activity and slightly higher temperature than that during ca 31 ka onwards. Simultaneous expansion of deciduous trees and chloridoid grasses also imply a drier and warmer phase. Between 31 and 22.3 ka (late MIS 3 to mid-MIS 2), higher precipitation and a slightly cooler temperature led to an increase in evergreen elements over deciduous taxa and wet-loving panicoid grasses over dry-loving chloridoid grasses than earlier. After ca 22.3 ka, shrinking of forest cover, expansion of C4 chloridoid grasses, Asteraceae and Cheno-ams in the vegetation with lowering of temperature and precipitation characterized the onset of the LGM which continued till 18.3 ka. End of the LGM is manifested by a restoration in the forest cover and in the temperature and precipitation regime. Later, during 5.4 to 4.3 ka, a strong monsoonal activity supported a dense moist evergreen forest cover that subsequently declined during 4.3 to 3.5 ka. A further increase in deciduous elements and non-arboreals might be a consequence of reduced precipitation and higher temperature during this phase. A comparison between monsoonal rainfall, MAT and palaeoatmospheric CO2 with floral dynamics since last similar to 50 ka indicates that these fluctuations in plant succession were mainly driven by monsoonal variations.
