    Temperature determination based on luminescence of rare-earth and transition metal doped powders

    Osnovni cilj ove doktorske disertacije je beskontaktno određivanje temperature korišćenjem luminescentne spektroskopije. Senzori temperature mogu biti najrazličitiji materijali, ali svi moraju imati zajedničko da im se neki fizički parametar manje ili više menja sa temperaturom. Za praktičnu primenu najznačajniji opseg temperatura je oko telesne i sobne temperature (20-50 °C) dok su za industriju interesantnije povišene temperature jer su radne temperature postrojenja dosta visoke (preko 500 °C). U okviru ove doktorske disertacije sintetisani su različiti materijali uz upotrebu dobro poznatih metoda sinteze sa definisanim temperaturama i dužinama žarenja. Seskvioksidi su sintetisani metodom polimerno-kompleksnog rastvora, litijum metatitanati su sintetisani jednostavnom metodom u čvrstoj fazi i magnezijum ortotitanati su sintetisani Pećini metodom. Materijali su dopirani jonima retkih zemalja i prelaznih metala. Svi uzorci su prvo okarakterisani XRD analizom kako bi se utvrdila čista faza i struktura uzorka. Najznačajniji deo ovih istraživanja je ispitivanje spektroskopskih karakteristika i njihovo ponašanje sa promenom temperature. Pokazano je da emisioni spektri i vremena života sintetisanih prahova zavise od temperature u širokom temperaturskom opsegu od 10-350 K. Visoke vrednosti relativne osetljivosti i temperaturske rezolucije koje su dobijene u okviru izrade ove doktorske disertacije pokazuju da ovi materijali mogu vrlo uspešno da se koriste kao senzori temperature.The basic objective of this PhD thesis was non-contact determination of temperature using luminescence spectroscopy. The temperature sensors could be a different type of material, but all must have one thing in common - one parameter is more or less changing with the temperature. The most important temperature range for practical application is around physiological and room temperature (20-50°C). Higher temperatures might be of interest to the industry because operating temperature of the plant is very high (above 500°C). In this study different type of materials were synthesized using well-known synthesis methods at optimum temperatures. Sesquioxide was synthesized using a polymer-complex method, lithium metatitanate using solid-state method and magnesium orthotitanate was synthesized using Peccini-type of synthesis. Rare earth and transition metal ions were used as a dopant. All samples were first investigated using XRD analysis to confirm pure phase and crystalline structure. The most important part of this study was investigation of spectroscopic characteristic and their behavior with changes of temperature. It was shown that emission spectra and lifetime of the synthesized powders are temperature-dependent in large temperature range (from 10-350K).     Spatial planning and ecological networks in Serbia

    The paper explains the importance and role of spatial planning in the context of the preservation and sustainable use of ecological networks. The concept of ecological networks is presented in terms of its main goals, structure, functions and approaches to biodiversity conservation. The paper gives an overview of ecological network development in Serbia, but also an overview of the activities carried out in establishing the NATURA 2000 European ecological network. Possibilities for improving the spatial planning process in light of the functional development of ecological networks in Serbia are indicated through an analysis of the requirements arising from the policies relevant for spatial planning and the development of ecological networks using the example of drawn up spatial plans

    Seasonality and Characteristics of Marriages in Sremska Mitrovica

    Marriage is a socially acceptable institution in which biological and socio-cultural components interact. One of the most important features of marriage is seasonality because different factors affect the time of entering into marriage, which is the primary subject of this research, analyzed on the example of the settlement Sremska Mitrovica. In agrarian societies, natural conditions were mostly between key factors that influenced the date of entering into marriage. Religion was often the deciding factor of seasonal marriage because of the limitation of dates in which it was allowed, because of religious holidays and periods that were preceded by religious holidays. The goal of this research is to highlight and notice specific trends, marital norms and patterns, the seasonality of marriage as well as to connect those changes with historical, political, economical, cultural and social contexts. Data were obtained from marriage registers (1900-2011) in Sremska Mitrovica. The characteristics of marriage in Sremska Mitrovica in the period from 1900 to 2011 were changing under the influence of historical and demographic heritage as well as the factors mentioned which also affected the seasonality of marriage in this period.     Evaluation of green roof characteristics in green building assessment

    Methodology of building evaluation based on green building characteristics is rapidly gaining momentum, mainly in foreign, but also in domestic building practice. This methodology is being carried out through different Green Building Certification Systems, which are complex evaluation mechanisms based on numerous criteria of sustainability, addressing both ecological issues, but also economic and social ones. Green roof represents one of the 'must have' features of contemporary buildings aiming to gain green label. This paradigm is based on their numerous characteristics which contribute to different aspects of building sustainability, among which are savings in energy and water consumption, but also ecological balance and quality of built environment. Criteria used for evaluation of green roof solutions and their overall contribution to the building, are integral part of all of the mentioned certification systems, but the way they are structured and formulated inside each system varies significantly, hence causing differences in evaluation results. This paper presents the analysis of green roof related criteria of three characteristic green building certification systems: LEED, BREEAM and CASBEE. These systems are chosen primarily because of the different evaluation methodology, but also because of their market prevalence and perspectives of usage in the domestic practice. Conclusions driven from these analyses and comparisons provide insight into main aspect of green roof planning and construction which are relevant for the overall building sustainability assessment.Методологија вредновања зграда по разноврсним критеријумима одрживе изградње већ увелико узима маха како у иностраној, тако и у домаћој пракси. Ова методологија се спроводи путем различитих система сертификације, сложених механизама процене који укључују бројне критеријуме одрживости, како еколошке, тако и економске и друштвене. Кровни вртови представљају један од императива савремене изградње која тежи да се класификује као одржива и верификује одређеним сертификатом. Ова парадигма заснована је, пре свега, на њиховим својствима која доприносе побољшању одрживих карактеристика бројних аспеката проблематике грађења, међу којима су уштеда енергије и воде, еколошка равнотежа грађене средине, квалитет непосредног окружења итд. Критеријуми којима се вреднује одрживост кровних вртова и њихов допринос квалитету зграде, саставни су део свих ових система, али се њихово формулисање, из кога произилази и начин примене при процени, разликује међу системима. У раду је приказана анализа критеријума везаних за проблематику кровних вртова и њиховог доприноса квалитету зграда три карактеристична система сертификације: LEED, BREEAM и CASBEE. Ови системи одабрани су пре свега због карактеристика методологије процене, али и заступљености примене и перспективе примене у домаћој средини.     Pituitary ACTH cells in female rats after neonatal treatment with SRIH-14.

    The prolonged effects of neonatal SRIH-14 treatment on pituitary ACTH cells were investigated. Neonatal female rats were injected subcutaneously with SRIH (20 microg/100g b.w.) every 12 hours for five consecutive days (3rd-7th day of life). Groups of rats were then killed at the juvenile (16th day), peripubertal (38th day) or adult (80th day) stage. ACTH cells were visualized using the peroxidase-antiperoxidase immunocytochemical procedure. Morphometry and stereology were used to evaluate the ACTH-immunoreactive cell volume and volume density.     Hydrogen storage properties of MgH2-Ni system

    The effect of pure Ni addition (5 wt.%) in MgH2 powder was investigated mechanochemically for short milling times (15, 30, and 45 min). Obtained MgH2-Ni system was characterized by XRD, SEM-EDS, PSD, DSC, and TPD. Compared to pure MgH2, uniform distribution of nickel reduces the temperature of H2 desorption by more than 100 °C. It is shown that influence of two important processes, grinding and catalysis, may be followed separately.     Development of pituitary ACTH and GH cells in near term rat fetuses

    This study describes the development of ACTH and GH cells in 19- and 21-day-old rat fetuses using immunohistochemistry and morphometric measurements. Between days 19 and 21 of pregnancy, the total volume of fetal ACTH cells was unchanged, while their volume density and number per unit of area decreased significantly. ACTH-like immunopositivity in the pars intermedia increased during the examined period. The cell volume, volume density and number of GH cells per unit of area all markedly increased in parallel with fetal development, i.e., from gestational days 19 to 21. GH-like immunopositivity is demonstrated in the pars intermedia of 21-day-old fetuses for the first time.Prezentovano istraživanje opisuje razvoj ACTH i GH ćelija hipofize fetusa pacova, neposredno pred rođenje korišćenjem imunohistohemije i morfometrijskih merenja. Od 19. do 21. dana gestacije volumen ACTH ćelija fetusa bio je nepromenjen, dok su volumenska gustina i broj ćelija po jedinici površine značajno smanjeni. Intenzitet ACTH imunopozitivnosti u pars intermedia povećavn je tokom ispitivanog perioda. Volumen GH ćelija, volumenska gustina i brojnost po jedinici površine značajno su povećani tokom završnog perioda fetalnog razvoja, tj. od 19. do 21. dana gestacije. GH imunopozitivnost prvi put je demonstrirana u ćelijama pars intermedia kod fetusa starih 21 dan.nul
