Fuzzy Based Texton Binary Shape Matrix (FTBSM) for Texture Classification

    Get PDF
Texton is a extensively applied approach for texture analysis. This technique shows a strong dependence on certain number of parameters. Unfortunately, each variation of values of any parameter may affect the texture characterization performance. Moreover, micro structure texton is unable to extract texture features which also have a negative effect on the classification task. This paper, deals with a new descriptor which avoids the drawbacks mentioned above. To address the above, the present paper derives a new descriptor called Fuzzy Based Texton Binary Shape Matrix (FTBSM) for clear variation of any feature/parameter. The proposed FTBSM are defined based on similarity of neighboring edges on a 3D7;3 neighborhood. With micro-structures serving as a bridge for extracting shape features and it effectively integrates color, texture and shape component information as a whole for texture classification. The proposed FTBSM algorithm exhibits low dimensionality. The proposed FTBSM method is tested on Vistex and Akarmarble texture datasets of natural images. The results demonstrate that it is much more efficient and effective than representative feature descriptors, such as logical operators and GLCM and LBP, for texture classification

Experimental evaluation of select servers and firewalls under denial of service security attacks

Internet security requires newer prevention mechanisms to be implemented on web-servers and routers. Firewall/Intrusion Prevention mechanisms (IPS) can be deployed on host servers or routers as an added line of defense against Internet attacks. In this thesis, we evaluate performance of security mechanisms provided by these devices against Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks. The host based firewalls on Windows servers-2003 and 2008 were evaluated. In this thesis, we also evaluated Juniper Networks Netscreen-5GT firewall/IPS, and Cisco ASA-5510/IPS that are used in protecting web-servers against DDoS attacks. It was found that the host based firewalls and protection mechanisms on the windows servers were not capable of defending against the DDoS attacks. Our performance evaluation showed the computing resource of the servers to be completely exhausted under these attacks. The evaluation of firewalls and IPS under different loads of attack had varying performance in supporting the number of web connections

The main objective of this article is to highlight the new trends that have emerged in the enhancement of the HPLC which have given rise to the use of UHPLC. This innovative tool is much more reliable and effective as compared to HPLC, in the investigation of many chemical compounds. In this article, special insight is given on the changes that have been made with regards to both instruments. In this article focus is also placed on the implementation of UPLC in various fields of interest, in order to enhance the processes for which it is utilized. The pros and cons of the utilization of this method are also addressed in this article, along with other relevant characteristics of the same

QFSRD: Orthogenesis Evolution based Genetic Algorithm for QoS Fitness Scope aware Route Discovery in Ad hoc Networks

    Get PDF
Here in this paper we devised a novel orthogenesis evolution based GA technique for QoS fitness scope aware routing in Mobile Ad hoc Networks. The past decade research towards route discovery strategies for mobile ad hoc networks is continuing with magnitude speed. However, the majority of the routing solutions devised in past are dealing only with the optimality of the data transmission. QoS aware hop level connections in a given rute are not supported with the desired frequency. Hence the QoS aware routing in mobile ad hoc networks is grabbing the attention of many researchers as this domain is on the hot edge of the current research

The aim of this work is to study the first order chemical reaction and heat source effects on unsteady viscous (laminar) flow over a continuously moving plate with constant heat and mass flux. The effects of various physical parameters of the flow, on velocity, temperature, concentration, Skin friction coefficient, Nusselt number and Sherwood number are presented through graphs and tables. It is observed Keywords: Chemical Reaction, Heat source, Mass flux, vertical surface

Natural language processing concerns about interpretation of language between human and machine such a way that machine can understand human language and communicate with a human so that human can understand. Challenging topics in this field is processing the Indian languages . The objective is to reduce human effort and time taken to perform tasks , improve the throughput and quality of a service. Chandhassu is a basic information to know whether a given poem is syntactically correct or not .Some poems are meaning full even though they doesn’t follow Chandhassu but those are not good when listening and reading .Nowadays so many peoples are writing poetry but those poems are not popular as much as ancient poets due to the lack of knowledge about Chandhassu and vyakaranamu. Proposed system is help full to check whether a given poem is syntactically correct or not. This system can be developed based on predefined rules for each type of Chandhassu .In Sanskrit Chandhassu types are called vruthas, some vruthas are adapted to write telugu poetry, Vruthas based on number of letters. In telugu Chandhassu types are called jaathulu and upajaathulu . these are dependent on number of ganalu. And also it checks whether poem follows yathi and prasa properties . Poetry can be useful to represent large amount of information in a small and structured format such a way that it can be easy to remember. Main applications of Chandasu is to write a poems, songs, prabhandas (collection of poems), dwipada (poems that follow a typical pattern), Sataka (collection of 100 poems) etc. By using poetry we can able to effectively represent sthayi bhavalu (symptoms) . It is helpful to represent science of Chandhassu ,vyakarana ,alnkara ,sahithyamu . Poetry is also used to represent dictionaries , medicine ,math’s , testing of vasthu ,pearls ,authentication purpose in data transition

Regression Models For Prediction Of Water Quality In Krishna River

    Get PDF
The River Krishna and its tributaries drain three important states of South India. The river water plays a very important role in the overall socioeconomic development of Andhra Pradesh.  In large river basins monitoring non-point sources pollution is rather difficult and expensive and is subjected to analytical errors. Hence, modeling water quality using land use data of the basin is attempted in the present study. The contribution from non-point sources (runoff from the river basin) is quiet considerable as the river drains various type of land uses. In this context, it is necessary to make a detailed study of the water quality of the river, to estimate the level of pollution and also main sources of pollution. Correlation studies explain the relationships, between dissolved solids concentration and land use of the basins. The multiple regression models accounted for significant variation in concentrations for majority of dissolved solids. The predicted concentrations are in good agreement with the observed values. The proposed models can be useful for planning land use controls in integrated water quality management program. As water quality of flowing water is closely linked to the land use in the basin, it is essential to include land use management in future river basin planning. Carefully designed land use studies to identify characterized and quantity of non point sources is essential elements to be emphasized to plan water quality management programme. The results of study indicate relative importance of non point sources pollution in addition to point sources pollution. The concrete dilution process assumes a remarkable role in the construction of solid microstructure and pore structure. The idea of self-comfort is to reduce the water dissipation of the concrete and thus increase the water holding limit of the solid compared to normal cement. An unwise restoration can reduce the quality of the cement without too much stretching. It was found that the water soluble polymers used as additives in solid effects, the dilution quality characteristics of hard cement take a prominent role in the construction of a compact solid structure and thus improve its rigidity and workmanship. The quality of compression does not decrease with the use of SAP in self-healing concretes. The excision flexibility with SAP is not reduced in self-curing concrete. SAP can be used up to 0.6% of the bond weight without changing the different quality of the cement
