    Shooting the Stars

Typically, on a campout or something you have nothing better do. In the evening after the fire’s gone out it the dark, everybody kind of goes off into a field and there’s, just, you can’t see anything no lights at all, all you can see are the stars. And you have one person standing in the middle of a big group of kids and the kids will have a flashlight that they kind of hide, so there’s no light showing, and the kid in the middle just looks up at the stairs and just start spinning. So, they spin and spin and spin and just staring at the stars til like the whole sky starts spinning, and like, you can tell they are super dizzy, and then when we feel like there are ready all the kids pull out their flashlights and shine it right at their face. And for some reason it’s like a sensory overload. It causes them to fall over like immediately. It’s the funniest thing ever, and sometimes people even and stop from falling over at the end but they can’t. [laughter] you just fall over every time, it’s really funny to watch, and it’s a fun game to play and we would do it all the time in a group of kids. And that’s shooting the stars

    Golden Nugget

My neighbor who lived through the block from me. He was always in the scouting and my principal of my elementary school, he says he was with his friends as a teenager, well probably older than that. He said a lot of things. They were up hiking up American fork canyon and they found a golden nugget just sitting there that they couldn’t lift. So they went home to get a truck, and get stuff to lift it and they couldn’t find it again

    Magical Wheat

In a cave up American Fork canyon, my neighbor found some vases full of wheat which had been there for a long time and they sent them to General Mills and they said it can fight diseases naturally, this wheat, and they asked if they could do some more tests on it and stuff, he told them they could, but he grew some every year and his friend grew some every year so they would have some. They would give them out to the scout kids when they would tell this story. They told us to chew it up

Tricks of the Trade at Thanksgiving Point

I was the setup manager, so in charge of setting up any event at thanksgiving point. We do anything from like a small business meetings to dinners receptions weddings concerts, festivals. We would have to setup all of our wedding chairs or metal chairs, 8 tops, 6 tops cabs linens, bring all the plates down, make sure there are cups and forks. New people would need to know the process of setting up the room all the legs of the tables have to be a certain way line have to be set out a certain way, where all the silverware goes. How to set the chairs. If it it’s an 8 top or 10 tops. All the different sizes of linens. It’s confusing on the sizes. We would say a Jimmy set or Jimmy buffet for a regular buffet or a Jimmy dean for a breakfast buffet set. Common mistakes would be that they would ask questions. Number one rule on setup is don’t ask questions. Some mess-ups are Tabor, Kjeisten, and who else…Colby drove up the vista mound which is only meant for golf carts. Or not even that, you guys popped a tire. Mike backed the little truck down by hidden falls and didn’t pull out straight so he ripped the whole side of the truck. And I was on vacation so when I got back nobody had said anything but he got fired after that

    Christmas Eve Book

Ever since I can remember so ever since we were little. Our Mom would get us a book and wrap it, and that would be our present we would unwrap on Christmas Eve. And she would read it to us. And we still do it and it’s fun cuz now there is Kai. Our nephew. Our Mom used to write in it, a nice note to the kids. Usually she tries to keep them about Christ. Sometimes they’re like fun ones…not like that’s not fun. But like How the Grinch Stole Christmas kind of. Like those ones but I think we got that one last year. So that’s why I can remember it. My favorite is the You are Special One

    Alec the Strongman

    Get PDF
So his name is Alexander Christofferson, he went by Alec, he was the first Lehi city Marshall the police chief, he came to Lehi when he was 12 years old. He was the first city marshal to have automobile, first to use fingerprints. He worked at Geneva steel and was known as the strongman. He operated a threshing machine for 20 years and one time the little bridge over the ditch broke, and he like I don’t exactly how he did it, if he was on his hands and knees or if he was on his back and had his hands and legs up holding the bridge but he held the bridge up while the thresher went across the bridge. And then he could shear 300 sheep a day. So he did something with sugar beets. He would dig up sugar beets and get paid by the pound. So most people would have a pitch fork with 3 prongs so you would get a couple sugar beets at a time but like he invented his own pitchfork that was double wide, so he could work twice as fast. He was also a famous like fighter or boxer and people would come from all over to see him fight. So he took on the greatest fighters in the world. He was offered like a million dollars to fight at Madison square garden but he turned it down. So I named my son after him cuz he’s strong

I lived on a reservation in Saskatchewan, right? They would tell us at night when the northern lights are out, that you couldn’t whistle, cuz if you whistled they would just come down and get you and carry you off. So I never whistled and I was scared of death of them. I whistled once, then I ran all the way home

Les déterminants à faire de l'activité physique ou à être inactif chez les étudiants: une revue qualitative : travail de Bachelor

    Get PDF
