Non-linear Quantization of Integrable Classical Systems
It is demonstrated that the so-called "unavoidable quantum anomalies" can be
avoided in the farmework of a special non-linear quantization scheme. A simple
example is discussed in detail.Comment: LaTeX, 14 p
Discretization of Information Collecting Situations and Continuity of Compensation Rules
A canonical procedure is described, which associates to each infinite information collecting situation a related information collecting situation with finite state and action spaces, in such a way that the two corresponding IC-games are near to each other.Compensations for informants are then also near to each other in the two IC-situations, if they are based on continuous compensation rules.cooperative games;information
Time-resolved photoluminescence of n-doped SrTiO_3
Following the recent surge of interest in n-doped strontium titanate as a
possible blue light emitter, a time-resolved photoluminescence analysis was
performed on nominally pure, Nb-doped and oxygen-deficient single-crystal
SrTiO3 samples. The doping-effects on both the electronic states involved in
the transition and the decay mechanism are respectively analyzed by comparing
the spectral and dynamic features and the yields of the emission. Our
time-resolved analysis, besides shedding some light on the basic recombination
mechanisms acting in these materials, sets the intrinsic bandwidth limit of the
proposed blue light emitting optoelectronic devices made of Ti-based
perovskites heterostructures in the GHz range
Towards explainable face aging with Generative Adversarial Networks
Generative Adversarial Networks (GAN) are being increasingly used to perform face aging due to their capabilities of automatically generating highly-realistic synthetic images by using an adversarial model often based on Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN). However, GANs currently represent black box models since it is not known how the CNNs store and process the information learned from data. In this paper, we propose the first method that deals with explaining GANs, by introducing a novel qualitative and quantitative analysis of the inner structure of the model. Similarly to analyzing the common genes in two DNA sequences, we analyze the common filters in two CNNs. We show that the GANs for face aging partially share their parameters with GANs trained for heterogeneous applications and that the aging transformation can be learned using general purpose image databases and a fine-tuning step. Results on public databases confirm the validity of our approach, also enabling future studies on similar models
