Azimuthal asymmetries and Collins analyzing power
Spin azimuthal asymmetries in pion electro-production in deep inelastic
scattering off longitudinally polarized protons, measured by HERMES, are well
reproduced theoretically with no adjustable parameters. Predictions for
azimuthal asymmetries for a longitudinally polarized deuteron target are given.
The z-dependence of the Collins fragmentation function is extracted. The first
information on e(x) is extracted from CLAS A_LU asymmetry.Comment: 5 pages, 7 figures. Talk presented by A.V. Efremov at DIS2002,

Transversity in Drell-Yan process of polarized protons and antiprotons in PAX experiment
Estimates are given for the double spin asymmetry in lepton-pair production
from collisions of transversely polarized protons and antiprotons for the
kinematics of the recently proposed PAX experiment at GSI on the basis of
predictions for the transversity distribution from the chiral quark soliton
model.Comment: 4 pages, 2 eps-figures, style files. To be published in Proceedings

Collins Effect in SIDIS and in Annihilation
We review the present understanding of the nucleon transversity distribution
and Collins fragmentation function, based on Ref.\cite{Efremov:2006qm}, and
discuss how Drell-Yan experiments will improve it.Comment: Talk at Moscow ICHEP 26.7-2.8.2006 and Kyoto Symposium on Spin

Capsulation of moldings made from silicon ceramic material
Ceramic articles are potted for hot isostatic pressing by porous glass and/or ceramic coating which is sintered to a pressure-tight coating in vacuo. Thus, a powdered SiO2 glass mixture with saturated alcohol sterin is sprayed on a SI3N4 ceramic, dried, introduced into the press which is evacuated to less than 0.013 mbar and heated to approximately 1200 C to drive off the organic binder and leave a powdered glass coating on the ceramic. The coating is sintered by heating to approximately 1200 C for 0.5 to 2 hours and forms a tight gass-impermeable layer. The press is heated to approximately 1700 C at 1000-300 bar and isostatic pressing is performed in the conventional manner
Pion mass dependence of the nucleon mass in the chiral quark soliton model
The dependence of the nucleon mass on the mass of the pion is studied in the
framework of the chiral quark-soliton model. A remarkable agreement is observed
with lattice data from recent full dynamical simulations. The possibility and
limitations to use the model results as a guideline for the chiral
extrapolation of lattice data are discussed.Comment: 14 pages, 12 figures, 4 tables. v2: References added, new figure

Rounding in earnings data
A report showing that although rounding in earnings data is typically ignored, its systematic nature affects some commonly used statistics based on earnings data, particularly those focusing on a specific region of the wage distribution.Wages ; Statistics
