1Mbps is enough: video quality and individual idiosyncrasies in multiparty HD video-conferencing
Most video platforms deliver HD video in high bitrate encoding. Modern video-conferencing systems are capable of handling HD streams, but using multiparty conferencing, average internet connections in the home are on their bandwidth limit. For properly managing the encoding bitrate in videoconferencing, we must know what is the minimum bitrate requirement to provide users an acceptable experience, and what is the bitrate level after which QoE saturates?. Cross-National Logo Evaluation Analysis: An Individual Level Approach
The universality of design perception and response is tested using data collected from ten countries: Argentina, Australia, China, Germany, Great Britain, India, the Netherlands, Russia, Singapore, and the United States. A Bayesian, finite-mixture, structural-equation model is developed that identifies latent logo clusters while accounting for heterogeneity in evaluations. The concomitant variable approach allows cluster probabilities to be country specific. Rather than a priori defined clusters, our procedure provides a posteriori cross-national logo clusters based on consumer response similarity. To compare the a posteriori cross-national logo clusters, our approach is integrated with Steenkamp and Baumgartner’s (1998) measurement invariance methodology. Our model reduces the ten countries to three cross-national clusters that respond differently to logo design dimensions: the West, Asia, and Russia. The dimensions underlying design are found to be similar across countries, suggesting that elaborateness, naturalness, and harmony are universal design dimensions. Responses (affect, shared meaning, subjective familiarity, and true and false recognition) to logo design dimensions (elaborateness, naturalness, and harmony) and elements (repetition, proportion, and parallelism) are also relatively consistent, although we find minor differences across clusters. Quasifree photoabsorption on neutron-proton pairs in 3He
Three-body photodisintegration of 3He is calculated in the photon energy
range 200 - 400 MeV assuming quasifree absorption on np pairs both in initial
quasideuteron and singlet configurations. The model includes the normal
nucleonic current, explicit meson exchange currents and the Delta(1232)-isobar
excitation. The total cross section is increased by a factor of about 1.5
compared with free deuteron photodisintegration. Well below and above the Delta
region also some spin observables differ significantly from the ones of free
deuteron disintegration due to the more compressed wave function of the
correlated np pairs in 3He compared to the deuteron. The initial singlet state
causes a significant change in the analyzing power Ay. These differences could
presumably be seen at the conjugate angles where two-body effects are maximized
and where photoreactions could complement similar pion absorption experiments.

Hopf algebras and Markov chains: Two examples and a theory
The operation of squaring (coproduct followed by product) in a combinatorial
Hopf algebra is shown to induce a Markov chain in natural bases. Chains
constructed in this way include widely studied methods of card shuffling, a
natural "rock-breaking" process, and Markov chains on simplicial complexes.
Many of these chains can be explictly diagonalized using the primitive elements
of the algebra and the combinatorics of the free Lie algebra. For card
shuffling, this gives an explicit description of the eigenvectors. For
rock-breaking, an explicit description of the quasi-stationary distribution and

Ultrasound attenuation in gap-anisotropic systems
Transverse ultrasound attenuation provides a weakly-coupled probe of momentum
current correlations in electronic systems. We develop a simple theory for the
interpretation of transverse ultrasound attenuation coefficients in systems
with nodal gap anisotropy. Applying this theory we show how ultrasound can
delineate between extended-s and d-wave scenarios for the cuprate

Super-conservative interpretation of muon g-2 results applied to supersymmetry
The recent developments in theory and experiment related to the anomalous
magnetic moment of the muon are applied to supersymmetry. We follow a very
cautious course, demanding that the supersymmetric contributions fit within
five standard deviations of the difference between experiment and the standard
model prediction. Arbitrarily small supersymmetric contributions are then
allowed, so no upper bounds on superpartner masses result. Nevertheless,
non-trivial exclusions are found. We characterize the substantial region of
parameter space ruled out by this analysis that has not been probed by any
previous experiment. We also discuss some implications of the results for

The Predictive Value of PITX2 DNA Methylation for High-Risk Breast Cancer Therapy: Current Guidelines, Medical Needs, and Challenges
High-risk breast cancer comprises distinct tumor entities such as triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) which is characterized by lack of estrogen (ER) and progesterone (PR) and the HER2 receptor and breast malignancies which have spread to more than three lymph nodes. For such patients, current (inter)national guidelines recommend anthracycline-based chemotherapy as the standard of care, but not all patients do equally benefit from such a chemotherapy. To further improve therapy decision-making, predictive biomarkers are of high, so far unmet, medical need. In this respect, predictive biomarkers would permit patient selection for a particular kind of chemotherapy and, by this, guide physicians to optimize the treatment plan for each patient individually. Besides DNA mutations, DNA methylation as a patient selection marker has received increasing clinical attention. For instance, significant evidence has accumulated that methylation of the PITX2 (paired-like homeodomain transcription factor 2) gene might serve as a novel predictive and prognostic biomarker, for a variety of cancer diseases. This review highlights the current understanding of treatment modalities of high-risk breast cancer patients with a focus on recommended treatment options, with special attention on the future clinical application of PITX2 as a predictive biomarker to personalize breast cancer management
