The Occupational Impacts that Sexual Assault has on Female College Students

    Get PDF
This mixed methods study outlines some of the occupational impacts that sexual assault has on female college students. Data was collected by both a survey and personal testimonies from readily available experiences. This paper introduces the problem and some things that can be done from an occupational therapy perspective.https://soar.usa.edu/otdcapstonessummer2023/1026/thumbnail.jp

Energy efficiency improvements through surveillance applications in industrial buildings

Presence sensors for energy control based on classic technologies to detect movement are now commonly seen in many areas of life. However, their use in structurally complex environments is not very common, due to their lack of reliability in these types of situations. Falling prices in technologies associated with surveillance applications are leading to a huge increase in their use in all types of environment, with monitoring of traffic and people the most common of these. In this work, we carry out an analysis of occupancy patterns in manufacturing industries with the aim of determining the possible energy savings that could be obtained using these new technologies. We also carry out an analysis of the possibilities of using these technologies as presence sensors, analyzing the trends and limitations associated with them.

The gaseous mixture flowing through an ommonia synthesis reactor shows considerable divergences from the behovior of ideal gases. These divergences are examined at three operating pressures (150, 300 and 500 atm), and the corresponding design equations for an optimum temperature progression are determined. The main diver gences are those caused by fugacity. The others are of lesser importance. At the same time, the great influence of total pressure is demonstrated

Development And Test Results for a Vision-Based Approach to AVCS

    No full text
To improve ground transportation, the United States began a program called the Intelligent Vehicle / Highway Systems (IVHS), sometimes called Smart Cars / Smart Roads. One of five IVHS components, the Advanced Vehicle Control Systems (AVCS), envisions autonomous vehicles that drive themselves, following their lane and avoiding other vehicles, all the while receiving routing and road information from an automatic traffic surveillance and planning system. Potentially, computer vision can fulfill many of the sensory requirements of mobility and traffic monitoring. This paper presents the vision-based technology for AVCS developed at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). Atestbed vehicle has demonstrated autonomous roadfollowing on a test course and on a highway at speeds of up to 90 km/hour under various weather and outdoor light conditions. This paper describes the latest highway tests, the algorithm development for autonomous vision-based car following, and the traf..
