Latest results from ALICE
In this paper selected results obtained by the ALICE experiment at the LHC
will be presented. Data collected during the pp runs taken at sqrt(s)=0.9, 2.76
and 7 TeV and Pb-Pb runs at sqrt(s_NN)=2.76 TeV allowed interesting studies on
the properties of the hadronic and nuclear matter: proton runs gave us the
possibility to explore the ordinary matter at very high energy and up to very
low pt, while Pb-Pb runs provided spectacular events where several thousands of
particles produced in the interaction revealed how a very dense medium behaves,
providing a deeper picture on the quark gluon plasma(QGP) chemical composition
and dynamics.Comment: Proceeding of the Conference "New Trends in High Energy Physics",

Study of the Photonuclear interaction of muons in rock with the MACRO experiment
We present first results about the measurement of the charged hadrons
production by atmopsheric muons in the rock above MACRO. A comparison between
the measure rate with the Monte Carlo expectation is presentedComment: 4 pages, 2 figures, to be published in Proc. of Xth ISVHECR
Results on ultra-peripheral interactions in Pb-Pb and p-Pb collisions in ALICE
Ultra-relativistic heavy ions generate strong electromagnetic fields which
offer the possibility to study -nucleus and -proton
interactions at the LHC in the so called ultra-peripheral collisions (UPC).
Here we report ALICE results on J/psi photoproduction measured in Pb-Pb
collisions at = 2.76 TeV and in p-Pb collisions at
= 5.02 TeV.Comment: Presented at EDS Blois 2013 (arXiv:1309.5705
Study of neutrino induced upgoing muon energy
An estimate of the energy of neutrino-induced muons in MACRO is provided by a multiple Coulomb scattering measurement. The MACRO original upward-muon data sample has been subdivided according to the reconstructed muon energy. The results are interpreted in terms of neutrino oscillation
NOE: a neutrino experiment for the CERN-Gran Sasso Long Base line project
The project of a large underground experiment (NOE) devoted to long baseline
neutrino oscillation measurement is presentedComment: 7 pages, 9 figures, Talk at 5th International Workshop on Tau Lepton

Review of Cosmic Ray experiments with underground detectors
The most important underground detectors addressing Cosmic Ray physics are
described, with a special emphasis on the description of the used technology.Comment: Invited talk at 6th International Conference on advanced Technology

Performance of a large limited streamer tube cell in drift mode
The performance of a large (3x3 ) streamer tube cell in drift mode is
shown. The detector space resolution has been studied using cosmic muons
crossing an high precision silicon telescope. The experimental results are
compared with a GARFIELD simulation.Comment: 18 pages, 7 figures. Accepted by Nucl. Instr. and Methods
