Marine geodesy a multipurpose approach to solve oceanic problems
Various current and future problem areas of marine geodesy are identified. These oceanic problem areas are highly diversified and include submersible navigation under ice seas, demarcation and determination of boundaries in deep ocean, tsunamis, ecology, etc., etc. Their achieved as well as desired positional accuracy estimates, based upon publications and discussions, are also given. A multipurpose approach to solve these problems is described. An optimum configuration of an ocean-bottom control-net unit is provided
Analytical approach to the transition to thermal hopping in the thin- and thick-wall approximations
The nature of the transition from the quantum tunneling regime at low
temperatures to the thermal hopping regime at high temperatures is investigated
analytically in scalar field theory. An analytical bounce solution is
presented, which reproduces the action in the thin-wall as well as thick-wall
limits. The transition is first order for the case of a thin wall while for the
thick wall case it is second order.Comment: Latex file, 22 pages, 4 Postscript figure
Anatomical Changes in the Skin of Rattus Norvegicus After Artificial UV Exposure
Acute and subacute artificial UV exposure to albino rats exhibit morphological and histo-anatomical changes in the skin of albino rat. The anatomical changes include hyperplasia, hyperkeratosis, hypergranulosis and acanthosis beside numerical changes in keratinocytes, Langerhans, melanocytes and fibroblast seen after acute and subacute artificial UVB exposure

The rural non-farm economy in India: Some policy issues
The annual growth rate of the male workforce in the rural non- farm sector in India was 4.3 per cent during 1977-88 and 2.0 per cent during 1988-2000, whereas in agriculture it was only one per cent during 1977-99. Thus the non-farm sector in India has immense potential to generate new jobs with relatively low direct investments. However its expansion depends upon a number of factors, which are influenced by government policies – directly or indirectly. These are discussed in this report
