As the maximum principle does not hold true for nonlinear problems unless global, restrictive and often nonphysical assumptions are imposed over the whole domain, we introduce less restrictive, viable assumptions and show that the theory of upper and lower solutions is an appropriate substitute for the maximum principle in the case of singularly perturbed time-dependent semilinear reaction-diffusion problems with Dirichlet boundary conditions. The boundary function method for a singularly perturbed time dependent reaction-diffusion problem with Neumann boundary conditions is modified by means of a small parameter (p) featuring in the layer functions, which allows the indication of their exponential decay rates. These functions derived by first order perturbation theory are the ingredients of upper and lower solutions providing existence of solution in the absence of a maximum principle. THE ECOLOGICAL AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS – SOURCES OF RAW MATERIALS FOR QUALITY FOOD PRODUCTS

Organic agricultural products are the best raw materials for food products with high nutritional density (food supplements, functional foods, and nutraceuticals). The applied technologies in the organic farming system use inputs free of hormones, GMOs, pesticides, antibiotics and other synthetic substances - and all of these allow both the preservation of the bio-availability of the active compounds during processing and the elimination of toxicological risks in final food products. The authors present an innovative approach to the production technology specific to a food product with high nutritional density that is developed from raw materials from Romania. The production of quality foods with high nutritional density can be supported both by Romania's huge potential within the production system specific to ecological agriculture and by the increased demand for such products with added value. The use of special techniques of Atomic Absorption Spectrometry (AAS), extraction of active bio-compounds with the help of supercritical agents (SFE), molecular absorption spectrometry (MAS) facilitates the monitoring of food safety for both raw materials and final foods

STUDIES REGARDING THE FRAUDULENT PRACTICES AND OTHER NONCONFORMITIES ENCOUNTERED IN THE WINES MARKETED IN DOLJ COUNTY DURING THE PERIOD 2006-2014

The aim of the study is to analyse: the types of nonconformities existing in the wines displayed for marketing, the number of wine samples with detected additions that are not allowed, the geographic area that they come from and the evolution of nonconformities during the studied period. The analysis of the wines existing in the commercial network of Dolj County duringthe period 2006-2014 highlights nonconformities and falsifications of the wines through the dilution of the wine with water, non-vinous addition of alcohol, through hiding some faults or alterations of the wine, through additions and the use of any practices that are illegal according to the current wine law
