Shao et al., PRL 103, 108701 (2009) the authors claim that a model with majority rule coarsening exhibits in d=2 a percolation transition in the universality class of invasion percolation with trapping. In the present comment we give compelling evidence, including high statistics simulations on much larger lattices, that this is not correct. and that the model is trivially in the ordinary percolation universality class.Comment: 1 pag

    Understanding collaborative workspaces:spatial affordances & time constraints

    Abstract. This thesis presents a generic solution for indoor positioning and movement monitoring, positioning data collection and analysis with the aim of improving the interior design of collaborative workspaces. Since the nature of the work and the work attitude of employees varies in different workspaces, no general workspace layout can be applied to all situations. Tailoring workspaces according to the exact needs and requirements of the employees can improve collaboration and productivity. Here, an indoor positioning system based on Bluetooth Low Energy technology was designed and implemented in a pilot area (an IT company), and the position of the employees was monitored during a two months period. The pilot area consisted of an open workplace with workstations for nine employees and two sets of coffee tables, four meeting rooms, two coffee rooms and a soundproof phone booth. Thirteen remixes (BLE signal receivers) provided full coverage over the pilot area, while light durable BLE beacons, which were carried by employees acted as BLE signal broadcasters. The RSSIs of the broadcasted signals from the beacons were recorded by each remix within the range of the signal and the gathered data was stored in a database. The gathered RSSI data was normalized to decrease the effect of workspace obstacles on the signal strength. To predict the position of beacons based on the recorded RSSIs, a few approaches were tested, and the most accurate one was chosen, which provided an above 95% accuracy in predicting the position of each beacon every 3 minutes. This approach was a combination of fingerprinting with a Machine Learning-based Random Forest Classifier. The obtained position results were then used to extract various information about the usage pattern of different workspace areas to accurately access the current layout and the needs of the employees

    Design and manufacturing of the Myoelecterical prosthesis (in compared to Mechanical prosthesis) is time consuming and expensive. Therefore, considering the high cost of these prostheses should be increase the satisfaction of prosthesis. This study was conducted on assessing the quality of life between two groups. The two groups compared from the aspect of quality of life. The participants were categorized in two groups of 20 below elbow amputation veterans that use from Mechanical or Myoelectrical prosthesis that refer to central technical orthopedic Kosar. For gathering the data we use TPEAS questionnaire. This questionnaire evaluates participants from 3 items: psychosocial adaptation, functional limitation and satisfaction of life. For data analysis use to t independent and ANOVA test. The obtained results revealed that there are significant differentiations in prosthesis satisfaction. This identified that the Myoelecterical groups have upper prosthesis satisfaction in compare to Mechanical group.     It is well established that the Myoelecterical prosthesis must also be effective, smart, light, strong and high permanence, compared to those of Mechanical prosthesis. It is time consuming and expensive that has ultimately led to significant increases in the price of Myoelecterical prosthesis. Therefore, considering the high cost of these prostheses should be decrease the functional limitation, hence assessment the functional limitations between two groups must be clear and explicit. Therefore this study was conducted in this regard.     Use of artificial neural network for medical risk assessment analysis

    For new medical products and new drugs, unanticipated side effects that rise after consuming the new product is a dominant factor in decision making. In this project, an artificial neural network (NN) engine is designed and developed by the authors to the aim of a medical risk assessment. Firstly, an appropriate NN system is designed and trained. We mostly concerned with the procedure of how the developed NN construction and training. The designed NN for this case has three layers of neuron. These three layers include an input layer, a hidden layer and finally an output layer, with 25 neurons in the hidden layer. The results from NN models can match the data used for training.     Safety evaluation of chloramine-T on ornamental zebra fish (Danio rerio) using LC50 calculation and organ pathology

    The need of aquarists for proper and safe disinfection of fish with Chloramine-T (CL-T) necessitates toxico/pathologic examinations. This study assays toxicity level of CL-T and histopathologic changes of gills, liver, kidney and brain of treated zebrafish (Danio rerio). Groups of 10 Zebrafish were treated with 0 (control), 5, 10, 15, 30, 50, 100 and 200 mg/L of CL-T. Mortality was recorded at every 6 hours until 96h after the beginning of the treatment and lethal concentration for 50% of population (LC50 at 24h and 96h) was calculated. The histopathologic samples were taken from dying fish during the exposure period. Histopathological changes were not evident in organs of the control group. In the gills of treatment groups, congestion, edema, separation of epithelium of secondary lamella from basal membrane, fusion and hypertrophy of secondary lamella, telangiectasis and necrosis of lamella epithelium were observed. In the liver of treatment groups degenerative changes and necrosis of hepatocytes were visible. The kidney samples represented hydropic degeneration, necrosis, dilation of periglomerular urinary space and hyaline droplets in renal tubules in high concentration. The brain of treatment groups showed spongiosis and increase in glial cells. Severity of these lesions was related to the concentration of CL-T. LC50 24h for CL-T was 428.649 mg/L and LC50 96h was 11.044 mg/L which reveals the low level of toxicity for few hours of treatment. The concentrations below 15mg/L are reasonably safe and recommended for usage in D. rerio treatment during 24h of bath

    Effect of Weissella cibaria as probiotic on some on growth factors in Siberian sturgeon Acipenser baerii

    The present study was designed to investigate the effect of bacteria Weissella cibaria as to probiotic on growth factors on Siberian sturgeon. The fish averaged 143.55 ± 0.04 g in weight were placed in 12 tanks for 60 days in four treatments everyone to three replicates including 0.2 g probiotic containing 107CFU / g for the first treatment (TA); 2 g probiotic containing 108CFU / g for the second treatment (TB) and 20 mg probiotic containing 109CFU / g for the third treatment (TC), and diet without probiotics for the control treatment (C), respectively and at the end of the trial meantime measurement the growth rate proceed to means Statistical analysis (ANOVA one- way- 95%) although, all probiotics-treated diets were resulted in to increases parameters feed conversation ration (FCR), specific growth rate (SGR) and protein efficiency ratio (PER), body weight index (BWI) comparing to the control group. However, no significant difference Condition Factor (CF) was observed between the treatments and group. Thus using this type of probiotics can be effective in improving the growth parameters

    Histopathological changes in liver and gill of Acipenser persicus fry in short term exposure to Nodularia spumigena

    Persian sturgeon, Acipenser persicus is a native, commercially important and highly steemed fish species in the Caspian Sea. In this study, effects of Nodularin (NODLN), a cyclic pentapeptide hepatotoxin, on liver and gill tissues of A. persicus were studied. Nodularin was produced in high amounts by Nodularia spumigena, a cyanobacterium species during the algal bloom in the Caspian Sea and was accumulated in biota of the Sea. Persian sturgeon were exposed directly to NODLN as prolonged immersion containing N. spumigena in two different doses (1×104 and 1× 108 cells.ml-1) for 24, 48 and 96 hours to examine its histopathological effects on fish liver and gill. Histopathological examinations revealed loss of liver architecture, degeneration of hepatocytes, nuclear pyknosis, karyolysis and finally necrosis of the cells over the time. Observation of gill tissues following immersion in algal cells treatments showed hypertrophy, fusion of secondary lamellae due to proliferation (hyperplasia) of branchial epithelium in low dose and vacuolization of epithelial and pilar cells, tellangiectasis, fusion of secondary and primary lamellae, complete necrosis and sloughing of secondary lamellar epithelium in high dose

    Infection of skipjack tuna Katsuwonus pelamis (Linnaeus 1758) of Oman Sea with cestode Trypanorhyncha (Diesing 1863)

    Numerous reports on existence of white cysts in musculature of skipjack tuna Katsuwonus pelamis and lack of information about the quality of cysts and individual responses of fish to them led the authors to focus on this fish as a commercially valuable species. This study investigated the histopathologic responses of skipjack tuna to highly prevalent cystic larval stages of Trypanorhyncha. Some 92.25% of 400 examined skipjack tuna of Oman Sea (Iran) captured from processing center in Chabahar have been diagnosed infected by Trypanorhyncha Larvae through gross muscle examination. Minimum of 5 to maximum of 19 cysts were observed per each flank flesh with no significant difference between number of cysts from right (9 ± 4) and left flanks (10 ± 4) and also males and females (p>.05, t- student test (spss version 16)). Using hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) staining of 4µm sections of surrounded cysts with muscle and light microscopy observations each metacestode was distinguished encapsulated by surrounding fibrous cyst wall consists of thin inner layer and a thick outer layer with the minimal histopathologic changes around it. The highly prevalent Trypanorhyncha infection in Oman Sea represents the high rate of infection among elasmobranches. The ability of encapsulated parasite to escape from the immune system of the host is assumed as one reason for the observed minimal tissue response in infected fish and the continuation of infection among elasmobranches and teleosts of Omen Sea
