    Saccharin is a class of food additives permitted by Indonesia Republic Minister of Health Regulation No. 33 of 2012 for use in drinks, but if consumed in excess can cause harmful effects on health such as causing allergies and bladder cancer. The purpose of this study was to determine the presence of saccharin in coconut ice drinks in Pasar Rajawali Kota Palangka Raya. The sample used was 5 samples and the sampling technique was saturated sampling. Saccharin examination is done qualitatively using the resorcinol method. The results of research that has been done show that all samples of coconut ice drinks that have been tested negatively contain saccharin sweeteners

    Pengaruh Jenis Media dengan Hormon Tumbuh NAA-BAP terhadap Pertumbuhan dan Kandungan Flavonoid Kalus Daun Echinaceae purpurea (L.) Moench

    Echinaceae purpurea (L.) Moench merupakan tanaman obat yang mempunyai khasiat salah satunya imunomodulator dan imunostimulan. Tanaman ini mengandung metabolit sekunder salah satunya yaitu falvonoid. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan media dalam menginduksi kalus dan mempengaruhi kandungan flavonoid dalam kalus daun E. purpurea (L.) Moench. Eksplan adalah daun E. purpurea (L.) Moench yang segar, sehat, dan tidak terlalu tua. Sterilisasi eksplan dilakukan dengan Dithane M-45 2 %, dengan penambahan Tween 80, Agrept 20/WP 2 % dengan penambahan Tween 80, alkohol 70 %, dan Bayclin® 10 %. Penanaman eksplan dilakukan dengan menggunakan media MS, ½ MS, dan Gamborg dengan penambahan kombinasi zat pengatur tumbuh NAA dan BAP masing-masing konsentrasi 1 ppm. Evaluasi kalus dilakukan terhadap prosentase keberhasilan pembentukan, waktu induksi, dan rata-rata berat kalus. Analisa flavonoid dalam kalus dilakukan secara kualitatif dengan reaksi warna, tes Wilstater Cyanidin, Kromatografi kertas , dan Kromatografi Lapis Tipis, serta semikuantitatif dengan KLT-Densitometri Hasil penelitian menujnukkan bahwa jenis media mempengaruhi keberhasilan pertumbuhan kalus dan kandungan flavonoid kalus daun E. purpurea (L.) Moench. Media Gamborg berpengaruh paling baik dalam menginduksi kalus sedangkan media ½ MS berpengaruh paling baik terhadap kandungan flavonoid di banding jenis media lain

    One of the plants that are often used as medicinal plants is Black Seed, Black Seed is a medicinal plant known in Indonesia by the name of black cumin. Black cumin seeds and essential oils (Nigella sativa L.) have been widely used in traditional medicine. Many studies have proven the effects of Nigella sativa extract. In various studies, black cumin seed oil shows efficacy as an anti-cancer, anti-free radical and immunomodulator, analgesic, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, a spasmolytic, bronchodilator, hepatoprotective, and anti-hypertensive Advanced chemical analysis found that Black Seed contains carotene that is converted into vitamin A by heart. The purpose of this study was to determine the potential inhibition of methanol extract of black cumin seeds (Nigella Sativa L.) against Streptococcus. This research uses a quantitative approach with an experimental method. This research was conducted in the Pharmacognition and Microbiology Laboratory of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Muhammadiyah University, Palangkaraya. The sample used was a sample of plant material, namely Black Cumin Seed (Nigella sativa L) which had been dried and pollinated and then extracted and then tested against bacteria. The results of testing the antibacterial activity showed that from low concentration to high concentration the diameter of the resulting inhibition showed that the activity could inhibit the bacteria streptococcus mutants. The highest inhibition at a concentration of 6% is 0.83 mm and the lowest concentration at a concentration of 3% against Streptococcus mutants

    Medicine is all substances such as chemical, animal or vegetative in a possible dose that could heal, assuage or prevent the disease and its symptoms. Infectious disease is still the most of health society problem, especially in developing country. Antibiotics are chemical substances generated by microorganisms which have the ability to obstruct the growth or eliminate another microorganism. Antibiotics are the most widely used medicine for infectious which caused by bacteria. The accurate recipe and good consumption of antibiotics use will give well beneficial and effective for the patient. Otherwise, using antibiotics which not suitable for the instruction will conduct the decrease of the medicine function itself (antibiotics resistance), and could make new disease caused by the wrong application. Anjir Mambulau village is located in Province of Central Kalimantan, particularly the part of Kapuas Hilir district, Kapuas. These villagers mostly obtain the medicines from a small shop and consume it based on the experiences and family suggestions only. The purpose of this research is to know the knowledge level of Anjir Mambulau villagers about antibiotics use, using the descriptive method with the valid questionnaire, to the sample of the village's population by purposive sampling technique, the questionnaire contains any questions with semi-open way which made by the researchers that should be answered by the respondent. This research sourced from 309 respondents results that 35,5% villagers of AnjirMambulau have not the cognize of using antibiotics

    Profil Penggunaan Obat Antibiotik Golongan Penisilin di Apotek Rawat Jalan RSUD Kuala Kurun

    This study aims to determine the profile of the use of penicillin-class antibiotics in Kuala Kurun Hospital. The method used in this study is the descriptive method, the population in this study were all prescription outpatients that included penicillin group antibiotics at Kuala Kurun Hospital during the period of September-November 2015 totaling 132 prescriptions, all of which were used as samples. Data collection techniques used in the form of documentation is by calculating the use and classifying the antibiotic groups of penicillin based on the type of preparation. Based on the results of the study it was found that the most widely used antibiotic dosage forms in the period September-November 2015 were tablet preparations. The use of Amoxicillin tablets was prescribed for 92 prescriptions with 69.7% usage percentage. Ampicillin tablets are prescribed as many as 18 prescriptions with a usage percentage of 13.6%. Whereas antibiotics in the penicillin group, Amoxicillin syrup preparations total use as many as 22 recipes with a percentage of 16.7%. Based on the visit of patients who came to Kuala Kurun Hospital in the period of September-November 2015 there were 132 prescriptions of patients using penicillin class of antibiotics. After the data is grouped, it is known that the most widely used penicillin antibiotic form is a tablet preparation with Amoxicillin and Ampicillin

    Pharmacophore Optimization Of Berberine As HER2 Inhibitor

    Previous research has shown that berberine, an alkaloid found in several plants such as akar kuning (Arcangelisia flava) shows the potential for inhibition of Human epidermal receptor-2 (HER2). Pharmacophore modification on the berberine was predicted could increase the affinity of berberine derivatives against HER2. The present study aims to determine the main pharmacophore of berberine with the highest influence towards berberine affinity against HER2. Molecular docking was performed on several modified pharmacophore of berberine against HER2. The docking results show that O atom at position number 23 has the most important influence on the berberine affinity towards HER2, where modification of O atom resulting in a decrease of berberine affinity. The highest affinity showed by derivate berberine-6 with the free energy of binding score and dissociation constant -10.80 kcal/mol and 12.17 nM, respectively. In contrast with other berberine derivatives, the berberine-6 derivate does not interact with the amino acid threonine at position 862. It provides a prediction that interaction of that amino acid potentially decrease the berberine activity towards active site of HER2. Further, derivate berberine-6 could be developed into HER2 inhibitor and should be potential to be developed as HER2-positive breast cancer therapy.Penelitian sebelumya menunjukkan bahwa berberin, alkaloid yang terdapat pada beberapa tumbuhan seperti akar kuning (Arcangelisia flava) menunjukkan potensi inhibisi terhadap Human epidermal receptor-2 (HER2). Modifikasi pharmacophore pada struktur kimia berberin diprediksi dapat meningkatkan afinitas derivat berberin terhadap HER2. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menemukan pharmacophore utama pada berberin yang memiliki pengaruh paling penting terhadap afinitas berberin pada HER2. Metode yang digunakan adalah molecular docking hasil modifikasi pharmacophore terhadap HER2. Hasil docking menunjukkan atom O pada posisi nomor 23 memiliki pengaruh penting terhadap afinitas berberin pada HER2, dimana modifikasi atom O menurunkan afinitas berberin. Afinitas tertinggi ditunjukkan oleh derivat berberin-6 dengan energi bebas ikatan dan konstanta disosiasi secara berturut-turut sebesar -10,80 kcal/mol dan 12,17 nM. Berbeda dengan derivat berberin lainnya, derivat berberin-6 tidak berinteraksi dengan asam amino treonin pada posisi 862. Hal tersebut memberikan prediksi bahwa interaksi pada asam amino tersebut berpotensi menurunkan afinitas berberin terhadap sisi aktif HER2. Lebih jauh derivat berberin-6 dapat dikembangkan menjadi inhibitor HER2 dan berpotensi untuk dikembangkan pada terapi kanker payudara HER2-positif

    Health services quality is one manifestation of the demands of society in the current era of globalization so it must be carried out in accordance with the established code of ethics and health service standards, in order to provide satisfaction for each patient. In addition, this is very necessary because it is the right of every customer so that it can provide an opportunity for health service facilities to win the competition by providing other health services. The purpose of this study is to determine the level of availability of prescribed drugs for outpatient in pharmacy installation of PKU Muhammadiyah Islamic Hospital Palangka Raya in August to December 2017. This research is a non-experimental study using a descriptive method. Based on the results of the research conducted at the Pharmacy Installation of PKU Muhammadiyah Islamic Hospital Palangka Raya there were 4,956 prescription sheets with an average number of items of 3,035 prescribed drugs and 2,975 items of drugs submitted to obtain the average percentage of drug availability in the year 2017 is 98.02%. Based on the results of research conducted at the Pharmacy Installation of PKU Muhammadiyah Islamic Hospital Palangka Raya, it can be concluded from this study that the level of drug availability for outpatients of Pharmacy Installation at PKU Muhammadiyah Islamic Hospital Palangka Raya in August to December 2017 has shown well with an average percentage of drug availability of 98.02%

    Upaya pencegahan terjadinya masalah lingkungan di masa depan memerlukan upaya nyata yang harus dilakukan untuk meningkatkan kualitas lingkungan, salah satunya dengan menumbuhkan sikap peduli lingkungan melalui pendidikan lingkungan kepada anak-anak sejak usia dini. Pengabdian  ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap pelestarian lingkungan dan menanamkan sikap peduli lingkungan pada siswa SDN 7 Pahandut dan siswa SDN 14 Palangka di Kota Palangka Raya setelah diberikan pelatihan pendidikan lingkungan hidup sebanyak  52 orang. Kegiatan ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode presentasi, demostrasi (praktik menanam pohon di sekitar sekolah) dan evalusi. Evaluasi kegiatan PkM melalui observasi dan tes (prestes dan postes). Hasil postes  dari kegiatan PkM pada SDN 7 Pahandut  rata rata 77,5 dan dan pada SDN 14 Palangka rata-rata 80, hal ini menunjukan bahwa kegiatan pengabdian dapat di pahami siswa dengan baik karena  telah mencapai indicator yang ditentukan sebelumnya yaitu rata-rata 70. Sedangkan hasil observasi dengan menggunakan rubrik pada SDN 7 Pahandut dengan kriteria baik dan pada SDN 14 Palangka dengan kriteria Sangat baik. Dengan demikian PkM ini dapat dikatakan tercapai sesuai dengan tujuan yaitu  mampu menanamkan sikap peduli siswa SDN sejak dini untuk pelestarian lingkungan sekitar

    Uji Daya Hambat Ekstrak Etanol Daun Jerangau Hijau terhadap Staphylococcus aureus

    Jerangau Hijau is a medicinal plant believed by the people of Central Kalimantan to have an efficacy of treating fever, postpartum injuries, and anti-inflammatory. Based on previous research, Jerangau Hijau is known to contain chemical compounds namely flavonoids and saponins that have activity as an antibacterial. The purpose of this study was to find out whether the ethanolic extract of Jerangau Hijau leaves able to inhibit the growth of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria and to know the concentration of ethanolic extract of Jerangau Hijau leaves that able to inhibit the growth of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. This research was conducted using the Kirby-Bauer method with disc paper. The extraction process was carried out by percolation method using 96% ethanol solvent. The results showed that the ethanolic extract of Jerangau Hijau leaves was able to inhibit the growth of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria, at concentrations of 1%, 5%, 10%, and 15% with mean inhibitory zones respectively 22±0.2 mm; 32.3±1.4 mm; 26.5±3.8 mm; and 13.1±3 mm

    Sosialisasi Peran dan Aksi Muhammadiyah Disaster Management Center (MMDC) Pada Penanggulangan Bencana Hidrometeorologis di Kota Palangka Raya

    Kelurahan Bereng Bengkel berpotensi  mengalami banjir yang cukup tinggi. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dimaksudkan untuk: 1) mensosialisasikan keberadaan Tim MDMC Kalimantan Tengah, 2) memberikan pemahaman tentang Mitigasi bencana Hidrometeorologis, 3) membentuk Satgas MDMC di kelurahan Bereng Bengkel, dan  4) Memberikan aksi nyata MDMC berupa layanan pengobatan gratis bagi warga kelurahan Bereng Bengkel. Metode pelaksanaan melalui ceramah, diskusi, dan aksi. Sasaran peserta  adalah warga desa, perangkat desa, dan mahasiswa relawan UMPR. Total peserta yang mengikuti kegiatan pengabdian adalah 50 peserta. Berdasarkan evaluasi, kegiatan  pengabdian ini  peserta telah memiliki pemahaman sangat baik, target terbentuknya satgas atau kader MDMC di Kelurahan Bereng Bengkel tercapai dan aksi nyata MDMC layanan kesehatan gratis terlaksana dengan sukses dan lancar. Pada dasarnya bimbingan MDMC kota Palangkaraya dan Lurah Bereng Bengkel diperlukan untuk menyusun program kerja dan  monitoring sehingga aksi MDMC di masyarakat  dapat di laksanakan secara berkelanjutan.
