Superconducting phase diagram of NaxCoO2.yH2O
We synthesized Nax(H3O)zCoO2yH2O samples with various Na/H3O ratios but with
the constant Co valence of s = +3.40, and measured their magnetic properties to
draw phase diagrams of the system. The superconductivity is very sensitive to
the Na/H3O ratio. With varying x under fixed s of +3.40, magnetically ordered
phase appears in the intermediate range of x sandwiched by two separated
superconducting phases, suggesting that the superconductivity is induced by
moderately strong magnetic interactions. In the vicinity of the magnetic phase,
transition from the superconducting state to the magnetically ordered state was
induced by applying high magnetic field. This transition is of the second
order, at least, above 1.8 K. The upper-critical field is expected to be much
higher than the Pauli limit for a phase located far away from the magnetic
phase regarding the Na/H3O ratio.Comment: proceedings of ISS200
Lymphatic vessels around the uterus: D2-40 (podoplandin) immunohistochemistry using elderly cadavers
Using D2-40 immunohistochemistry, we examined the morphology of lymphatic vessels (LVs) in, along and around the uterus of 10 donated female cadavers (mean age, 85 years). All these women had 1 or 2 children with vaginal delivery, but the other obstetrics information was unknown. When compared with the bladder, vagina and the subperitoneal tissue, the percentage area of LVs in a 3 × 2 mm square including the hot spot was extremely high along the uterine artery and superficial uterine vein, in spite of the silent physiology of the elderly uterus. Notably, the LVs along the uterine artery and superficial uterine vein were highly dilated and embedded in the tight connective tissue around the artery and vein. In contrast, the LVs were separated from the artery and vein in the so-called vesico- -uterine ligament. Thus, surgical separation of the LVs from the artery and vein, i.e., skeletonisation, appears very difficult along the uterine artery and superficial uterine vein. This may become a major factor limiting the future application of robot-assisted surgery for uterine cancers
The Density Perturbation Power Spectrum to Second-Order Corrections in the Slow-Roll Expansion
We set up a formalism that can be used to calculate the power spectrum of the
curvature perturbations produced during inflation up to arbitrary order in the
slow-roll expansion, and explicitly calculate the power spectrum and spectral
index up to second-order corrections.Comment: 11 pages, errors correcte
Detection-dependent six-photon NOON state interference
NOON state interference (NOON-SI) is a powerful tool to improve the phase
sensing precision, and can play an important role in quantum sensing and
quantum imaging. However, most of the previous NOON-SI experiments only
investigated the center part of the interference pattern, while the full range
of the NOON-SI pattern has not yet been well explored. In this Letter, we
experimentally and theoretically demonstrate up to six-photon NOON-SI and study
the properties of the interference patterns over the full range. The
multi-photons were generated at a wavelength of 1584 nm from a PPKTP crystal in
a parametric down conversion process. It was found that the shape, the coherence
time and the visibility of the interference patterns were strongly dependent on
the detection schemes. This experiment can be used for applications which are
based on the envelope of the NOON-SI pattern, such as quantum spectroscopy and
quantum metrology.Comment: 5 pages, 3 figure
