A survey of the arbuscularmycorrhizal (AM) status associated with Xanthium strumariumL plants growing and distributed in Osmanabad district of Marathwada region in Maharashtra state. The result showed that all the different sites Xanthium strumarium L. plants had AM fungal association in the roots and spore population in the rhizosphere soil. However, maximum percent root colonization of AM fungi was observed in Paranda sites (98 %) followed by others, while minimum in Omerga sites (58 %).Paranda sites (300) showed more spore density whereas less in Kallam sites (59). Total five genera of AMF was identified up to species level in which Acaulosporaspp and Glomusspp were found dominate followed by, Sclerocystisspp, Entrophosphoraspp and Gigasporaspp were found poorely distributed

The present study of heavy metal model mixture on fish experimental changes in blood haematological parameters (Viz. WBC, RBC and Haematocript) of the laboratory acclimatized fish Labeo rohita, exposed to different heavy metals mixture model were studied. Erythrocyte count decreased significantly (p < 0.005) in the blood of fish exposed to almost all Heavy metal model mixture concentrations studied while alterations of haematocrit level depended on Heavy metal model mixture concentration. The highest concentration of Heavy metal model mixture (21.79%) induced a drop in haematocrit level meanwhile the level of haematocrit in blood of fish exposed to all lower Heavy metal model mixture concentrations was higher as compared to control. Erythrocyte count in the blood of Heavy metal model mixture-exposed fish was significantly lower as compared to control, even in fish exposed to the lowest concentration of Heavy metal model mixture (1.1%)

Reach and Operating Time Correction of Digital Distance Relay

Get PDF
Current and voltage signals recieved from conventional iron core Current Transformer (CT) and Voltage Transformer plays very important role for correct operation of Distance Distance Relay (DDR). Increase in secondary burden connected to CT causes it to saturate at earlier stage. The saturated CT produces distorted secondary current, causing DDR to under reach and to operate by certain time delay. Rogowski Coils (RCs) are attaining increased acceptance and use in electrical power system due to their inherent linearity, greater accuracy and wide operating current range. This paper presents use of RC as an advanced measurement device suitable for DDR. Case study for validation of use of RC is carried out on low voltage system. The simulation results of Distance protection scheme used for protection of part of 220kV AC system shows excellent performance of RC over CT under abnormal conditions

Growth effect of Capsicum annum var. Jwala plants inoculated with Glomus fasciculentum and Trichoderma species

Get PDF
In the present investigation deals with the beneficial effect of Glomus fasciculentum with Trichoderma harzianum and Trichoderma viride under pot experiment. In dual inoculated Capsicum plant showed significant increase in plant growth parameters like number of leaves, stem diameter, shoot length, number of branching, root length, fresh root weight, dry root weight, fresh shoot weight, dry shoot weight, % of root colonization and number of spores as compared to control. The results reveal that mixed Mycorrhiza and Trichodema species inoculation contribute best growth and development of Capsicum annum plant under pot experiment.Â

Four pteridophytic plants were studied for their Arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungal association. All tested plants were distributed in Maharashtra state. The result revealed that all the tested pteridophytic plants (viz. Equisetum spp, Marsilea spp, Nephrelepis spp, and Adiantum spp) had AM association in the roots and spore population in the soil. However, maximum root colonization was observed in Equisetum spp (96%) where as minimum was observed in Nephrelepis spp (28%). Equisetum spp (208) showed more spore density where as less in Adiantum spp (27). Total 15 AM fungal species were identified and quantified in which Glomus spp were dominant followed by Acaulospora spp Sclerocystis spp and Gigaspora spp were found less frequently distributed

Evaluation of total phenolic contents and antioxidant activities in different solvent extracts of Diospyros melanoxylon Roxb. bark

Get PDF
Antibacterial and anticardidal activities from the polar and non-polar solvent extracts of Diospyros melanoxylon Roxb. is established earlier. Here we have evaluated amount of total phenolics present in Aqueous, Methanol, Ethanol, Acetone, Ethyl acetate, and Chloroform solvents by using Folin-ciocaltuaeu reagent from Diospyros melanoxylon Roxb. bark. Anti-oxidative potential of phenolics present in different solvents were evaluated by DPPH free radical scavenging assay, O-phenanthroline assay and reducing power assay. It was observed that the Methanol is a better solvent for the total phenolics extraction. The amount of phenolics present in solvents were in the order of Methanol > Ethanol > Acetone > Aqueous > Ethyl acetate. The highest free radical scavenging potential 59.33 ± 1.52% was observed in Ethanol extract and the lowest scavenging potential 39.66 ± 1.52% in Aqueous extract. The highest scavenging potential 66.66 ± 2.4% was observed in Acetone extract in case of O-phenanthroline assay. The similar scavenging potential was observed in Aqueous, Methanol, Ethanol and Acetone extracts in case of reducing power assay. This study shows that the Diospyros melanoxylon Roxb. bark extract could be used as probable antioxidative agent

Total four AMF was identified up to species level in which Glomus spp were found dominate followed by Acaulospora spp., Sclerocystis spp and Entrophosphora spp were found poorly distributed

ROUND TRIP DELAY TIME AS A LINEAR FUNCTION OF DISTANCE BETWEEN THE SENSOR NODES IN WIRELESS SENSOR NETWORK

No full text
In a dense wireless sensor networks with portable sensor nodes identification of sensor node location, distance of particular sensor node from some reference node and fault detection are the great challenging issues. Round trip delay (RTD) time measurement technique is an easy way to obtain the information regarding above issues in WSN. But round trip delay measurement is affected by various parameters of wireless sensor network. As the sensor nodes are placed randomly in network, sensor node distance has more impact on this time measurement. So it is necessary to study the relationship between the round trip delay time and Sensor node distance. To prove this relationship the other parameters affecting round trip delay time like speed, data transfer rate, number of sensor nodes in RTD path and other request handled by intermediate nodes are either made constant or disabled. A wireless sensor node hardware designed for this purpose consists of microcontroller (ATMEGA 16L) and ZigBee (XBEE S2) wireless communication module. For configuring the ZigBee module of each sensor nodes in round trip delay path X-CTU software is used. After configuring the all sensor nodes the entire network is simulated in real time by using Dock light V1.9 software. The graph plotted between round trip delay time and sensor node distance proves a linear relationship between it. K EYWORD

One of the vital and critically dynamic characteristics of the wind turbines is transient response. The performance of the induction generators used in such turbines is very important to control during transient states. In order to improve the performance of these generators, authors have proposed the current mode control (CMC). The proposed system is especially designed and implemented for the converters on rotor side. The scheme was implemented and its performance was compared with indirect CMC scheme. The performance of the implemented system is found suitable for the wind turbines and can provide the stability during the transient state
