    Heterogeneous delays making parents synchronized: A coupled maps on Cayley tree model

    We study the phase synchronized clusters in the diffusively coupled maps on the Cayley tree networks for heterogeneous delay values. Cayley tree networks comprise of two parts: the inner nodes and the boundary nodes. We find that heterogeneous delays lead to various cluster states, such as; (a) cluster state consisting of inner nodes and boundary nodes, and (b) cluster state consisting of only boundary nodes. The former state may comprise of nodes from all the generations forming self-organized cluster or nodes from few generations yielding driven clusters depending upon on the parity of heterogeneous delay values. Furthermore, heterogeneity in delays leads to the lag synchronization between the siblings lying on the boundary by destroying the exact synchronization among them. The time lag being equal to the difference in the delay values. The Lyapunov function analysis sheds light on the destruction of the exact synchrony among the last generation nodes. To the end we discuss the relevance of our results with respect to their applications in the family business as well as in understanding the occurrence of genetic diseases.Comment: 9 pages, 11 figure

    Synchronization in Delayed Multiplex Networks

    We study impact of multiplexing on the global phase synchronizability of different layers in the delayed coupled multiplex networks. We find that at strong couplings, the multiplexing induces the global synchronization in sparse networks. The introduction of global synchrony depends on the connection density of the layers being multiplexed, which further depends on the underlying network architecture. Moreover, multiplexing may lead to a transition from a quasi-periodic or chaotic evolution to a periodic evolution. For the periodic case, the multiplexing may lead to a change in the period of the dynamical evolution. Additionally, delay in the couplings may bring upon synchrony to those multiplex networks which do not exhibit synchronization for the undelayed evolution. Using a simple example of two globally connected layers forming a multiplex network, we show how delay brings upon a possibility for the inter layer global synchrony, that is not possible for the undelayed evolution.Comment: 6 pages, 9 figure

    The ability of work of every individual is depends upon the ability of using his joints. Sandhigata vata is one such clinical entity among Vatavyadhis which affects the locomotion of senior citizens of this world in which Dhatukshaya is prime factor which is characterized by certain symptoms like joint stiffness, joint pain, swelling and difficulty of joint movement etc. In Ashtanga Hrudaya, Snehana is mentioned as one of the main treatments of Sandhigata vata. Moreover in Asthidhatugata vata, Bahya-abhyantara sneha is mentioned as treatment and Vastikarma occupies important place in treating Vatavyadhis. An observational study of 15 days in a sample of 15 cases was conducted. Diagnosed cases of Osteoarthritis (Sandhigata Vata) were selected for study from the outpatient unit of Aligarh Unani & Ayurvedic Medical College and ACN Hospital, Aligarh. Patients were selected at random irrespective of age, sex, Prakriti (constitution), Doshic (local humoral) and the joint involvement. Patients subjected to prior Deepana and Pachana procedures internally. It was followed by Matrabasti in with Nimbamratapatoladi Ghrita with constant dose of 60 ml till Vyadhishamana or maximum 2 weeks. Assessment was done before and after study and using structured proforma.Result and Conclusion: Out of 15 patients from 3 patients (20%) has shown complete remission, 6 patients (40%) have shown marked improvement. In 4 patients (26.66%) moderate improvement was found and 2 patients (13.34%) showed mild improvement. No patient remains unimproved

    Role of delay in the mechanism of cluster formation

    We study the role of delay in phase synchronization and phenomena responsible for cluster formation in delayed coupled maps on various networks. Using numerical simulations, we demonstrate that the presence of delay may change the mechanism of unit to unit interaction. At weak coupling values, same parity delays are associated with the same phenomenon of cluster formation and exhibit similar dynamical evolution. Intermediate coupling values yield rich delay-induced driven cluster patterns. A Lyapunov function analysis sheds light on the robustness of the driven clusters observed for delayed bipartite networks. Our results reveal that delay may lead to a completely different relation, between dynamical and structural clusters, than observed for the undelayed case.Comment: 4+ pages, 4 figues, PRE Rapid Communication (in press

    Urolithiasis is a multifactorial disease that remains a significant health problem. It carries significant morbidity and imposes tremendous financial burden on healthcare system. A variety of intrinsic and extrinsic factors influence the incidence of disease. Management of urolithiasis depends on size and location of stone. Stone larger than 5 mm, which fails to pass through urinary system, should be treated by some interventional procedure such as Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy (ESWL), Ureteroscopy, Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy.Unfortunately the propensity for stone recurrence is not altered by removal of stone by these procedures and recurrence is still about 50% within 10 years. In addition these interventional procedures show some significant side effects. For prevention or recurrence of stone many herbal medicines have been traditionally used to treat kidney stones and have been shown to be effective. Acharya Vagbhatta has explained in Ashmari Chikitsa adhyaya that intake of lukewarm decoction of root of Moringa oleifera (Shigru) have lithotriptic action. Considering the above reference the present study was carried out to evaluate lithotriptic action of Moringa oleifera as it is cheap, easily available and palatable.Result & Conclusion: This study shows that Shigru Mula Kwath is as effective as compared to Varunadi Kwath, also Shigru Mula Kwath significantly helped to reduce the signs, symptoms and help to disintegrate the calculus. The prospective aspect of this study reveals that Shigru Mula Kwath can be used as lithotriptic, diuretic, alkalizer and analgesic to treat the Ashmari effectively

The current treatment used to treat non-healing ulcer is by antibiotics, anti-inflammatory drugs, wound debridement, irrigation, hyperbaric oxygenation, vacuum assisted closure, maggot therapy etc. Many of such technique are much expensive and are not successful in many cases. Hence, a technique from Ayurvedic classics Dhoopana which is less expensive was selected for the study
