This action was based on the need to make the process more efficient, reducing variations in the availability, quality and performance of the local machinery. Thus, it was discussed, together with the company's management, the gains that could be obtained through the application of OEE in the local productive process

Integrating the Hoshin Kanri and Key Performance Indicators approach into the industry

The management of the multinational beverage industry, of French origin, decided to implement a more effective policy to manage and execute its strategy. The change in management was due to the difficulties in achieving goals derived from the company's strategy. It was decided, therefore, to apply the strategic management model proposed by Hoshin Kanri and thus align functions and activities with the most important strategic objectives of the organization. At first, with the adoption of punctual actions, it was possible to notice changes in all levels of the organization. However, it was noted at the operational level greater resilience in change management. To minimize this effect, periodic clarification meetings are held with "shop floor" personnel and doubts are addressed, improving communication and alignment among organizational levels. With 4 months of implementation of practices that meet the expectation of better management, in general, the achievement of registered and accumulated goals improved by approximately 15%. It is expected to reach at least a 50% advance by the month of December.

Lean logistics as support for strategic management practice

According to Hines, Holweg and Rich (2004), lean can be applied across several segments, including supply chain aspects, providing benefits to the organization. Within these practices, the logistics aspects are heavily involved and, for this reason, are fundamental to the added value and success of the philosophy. Algumas habilidades são exigidas dos indivíduos que decidem tornar-se empreendedores, como planejar, formar equipes, liderar, negociar, resolver problemas, entre outras. Assim, o presente artigo tem como objetivo identificar as oportunidades geradas pela criação de um plano de negócios como uma ferramenta de auxílio ao processo de planejamento estratégico, no âmbito da gestão de novos empreendimentos. Nesse aspecto, o trabalho mostra um estudo realizado em uma empresa de pequeno porte no setor de alimentos. Dessa forma, pode-se observar que o plano de negócios pode ser usado como um instrumento dinâmico de implementação da estratégia da empresa, tornando-se uma ferramenta fundamental de gestão que, certamente, auxiliará o empreendedor a conseguir o sucesso desejado ou então mostrará a esse mesmo empreendedor que o momento não é propício para o negócio desejado, evitando assim decepções futuras.Portanto, notou-se que a importância do planejamento estratégico de negócio está na captação, elaboração e, principalmente, no bom senso em avaliar o conjunto de fatores de viabilidade financeira e mercadológica, que possibilitarão ao empreendedor coordenar um plano de ação, através do caminho mais adequado para a abertura e/ou manutenção da sua empresa

A METODOLOGIA DE PRODUÇÃO MAIS LIMPA (P+L): UM ESTUDO DE CASO EM UMA INDÚSTRIA DE CURTUME

A Produção Mais Limpa (P+L) comporta-se como uma ferramenta útil para o desenvolvimento sustentável através da aplicação contínua de uma estratégia de cunho ambiental e preventiva integrada aos processos, produtos e/ou serviços, de modo a reduzir os riscos para os seres humanos e principalmente, para o meio ambiente. Assim, no ambiente industrial, diversos segmentos apresentam os mais variados níveis de impacto ambiental de acordo com aspectos particulares de cada processo. A indústria do couro é um exemplo de ramo industrial que emprega grande quantidade de insumos poluentes e geram alto risco ao meio. Portanto, este artigo visou apresentar as vantagens da utilização da P+L no processo produtivo de um curtume, por meio da identificação de oportunidades de melhoria em pontos críticos, evidenciando os possíveis ganhos econômicos e ambientais provenientes desta metodologia. Constatou-se que a aplicação da P+L é de fundamental importância para as indústrias, pois tem por objetivo a otimização da aquisição de matérias primas, água e energia elétrica, reduzindo as despesas operacionais, além de buscar soluções rentáveis para a redução da geração dos rejeitos. No caso específico dos curtumes, esta metodologia P+L é altamente indicada pelo fato de que são indústrias altamente consumidoras de água, energia elétrica, produtos químicos e enfrentam sérios problemas com a geração de efluentes
