Efficacy and safety of thrombolytic therapy in prosthetic valve thrombosis
Background: There is limited data available about the effectiveness of thrombolysis in prosthetic valve thrombosis (PVT). Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of thrombolytic treatment in PVT patients. Methods: This was an observational study conducted at a tertiary-care centre in India between March 2013 and April 2014. Total of 56 patients with either recurrent PVT or with confirmed left-sided PVT was included in the study. Thrombolytic therapy was administered as an intravenous infusion of streptokinase or urokinase, initially at a loading dose of 2.5L IU/hour over 30 minutes, followed by 1L IU/hour for 48–78 hours depending upon the clinical and 2D-Echo observation. Primary endpoint was considered as the occurrence of a complete clinical response. Secondary endpoint was considered as a composite of death, major bleeding or embolic stroke. Results: Mean age of the patients was 37±13 years. Most of the patients presented with NYHA-II (51.7%), III (39.2%), and IV (8.9%) symptoms. Mitral and aortic valve thrombosis were observed in 40(71.4%) and 11(28.6%) patients. Forty-nine (73.3%) patients were treated with streptokinase. Whereas, rethrombosis patients were treated with urokinase [6(16%)] and tenecteplase [1(1.3%)]. Two (3.6%) patients died, 1(1.8%), 1(1.8%), 2(3.6%), and 1(1.8%) patient had peripheral embolism, central nervous system bleeding, stroke, and embolic complications. Conclusions: Thrombolytic therapy can be used as the first-line treatment for thrombolysis in PVT patients. All PVT patients can be treated with streptokinase unless specific contraindications exist. Urokinase or tenecteplase is an alternative thrombolytic agent in rethrombosis patients
INLINE ELASTICITY MEASURE OF TEXTILE USING ANN
In this paper, we propose a technique to measure the Elasticity Modulus of the textile material using flex LVDT. Elasticity modulus is measured indirectly by measuring stiffness of the material first. The material whose stiffness is to be measured is subjected to a known force and the deflection caused in the material due to applied load is measured using the LVDT. Here the whole measurement is done dynamically without halting the manufacturing line of process. The output of LVDT is AC voltage. AC-DC converter is used to convert the AC output voltage of LVDT to DC output voltage. This is cascaded to the ANN block programmed on the LabVIEW platform. The results show that the proposed technique has achieved its proposed objectives

Low Frequency Modular Multilevel Converter Topology for Improved Dynamic Performance of Variable-Speed AC Drives
This venture shows a control conspire for the particular multilevel converter (MMC) to drive a variable-speed air conditioning machine, particularly concentrating on enhancing dynamic execution. Hypothetically, the vitality adjust in the MMC cell capacitors is inclined to be unsteady at start-up and low-recurrence operations. Also, the MMC topology basically requires propelled control methodologies to adjust vitality and stifle the voltage throb of every phone capacitor. This venture proposes a control methodology for the powerful unique reaction of MMC even at zero yield recurrence utilizing leg balance voltage infusion. The leg counterbalance voltage for adjusting the arm vitality is delivered by direct figuring without the coursing current control circle controller. On account of the exceedingly unique leg balance voltage from direct computation and not traditional circling current controller, the dynamic execution of a MMC at low speeds has obviously made strides. The air conditioner machine has been driven from halt to evaluated speed without exorbitant cell capacitor voltage swells using this proposed technique. Spiny Lobsters and Potential of Sea Cage Culture Spiny Lobster Resources in India
Fishery science and technology contributes a vital role in the augmentation of fish
production globally.Among the seafood items, spiny lobsters have a prime position in
terms of high unit value, demand, nutritional qualities with less perishable nature.
Lobsters have great demand in international and domestic market, especially from
tourism based beach resorts and restaurants as a luxury food. The annual lobster
landings in India has been declining from a peak of 4,075 t in 1985 to the present
annual average of 1,546 t. On an average, the fishery is contributed by Gujarat
(43.7%), Maharashtra (25.4%), Tamil Nadu(14.6%) and Kerala (13%) (CMFRI
Annual Report 2000-2015). Lobster fishing in India is mostly carried out by region
specific traditional fishermen communities inhabiting along the coastal belts of
different maritime states. Over the years the lobster fishery in India witnessed changes
in fishing pattern, utility pattern with the introduction of live export market , sea cage
culture and increased consumption and demand from tourism sector .
Live Lobsters have a prominent place in the sea food export market both in terms of
demand and price from Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan, Europe and USA. India
witnessed a sea change in foreign exchange earnings through marine products export
worth 46,975 million rupees during 1997-98 and 55,111.12 million rupees during
2014-15, from an initial value of 25 million rupees in 1950-51 (Sakthivel, 1999). The
marine products export accounted
and contributed 3.5 % of the total exports in 1990s. Our marine product exports in the
initial stages were in dried and canned form. It has gradually progressed into frozen
h 340 million
rupees in 1996-97 (Sakthivel, 1999). Spiny lobsters formed one of the items in the live
fish export along with mud crabs and reef fishes. The annual average revenue earnings
by India through the export of lobsters is amounted to Rs.74 crores

Length-weight, length-length relationships and condition factor of obtuse barracuda Sphyraena obtusata Cuvier, 1829 (Pisces: Perciformes) from Vizhinjam coast, Kerala, India
Eleven morphometric variables including weight were recorded for 429 specimens of obtuse barracuda Sphyraena obtusata Cuvier, 1829 collected over a period of two years from January 2017 to December 2018, from Vizhinjam fish landing centre, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. Length-weight relationship and length-length relationship of the species were estimated using linear regression analysis. Different length measurements were converted to ratios with standard length as morphometric ratios and the growth rate was assessed gender wise. Length-weight relationship for male and female population were estimated as Wm= 13.326 × L3.2409 and Wf = 11.952 × L2.9821, respectively. Linear relationships for other morphometric variables and morphometric ratios with standard length were established for the species. Principal component analysis was performed and total length, snout length and snout to pre-nostril length were identified as key morphometric variables discriminating gender. The relative condition factor was estimated as 1.04+0.13 for total population and the role of morphometric ratios in sex differentiation was examined
Observation of spin glass state in weakly ferromagnetic SrFeCoO double perovskite
We report the observation of spin glass state in the double perovskite oxide
SrFeCoO prepared through sol-gel technique. Initial structural
studies using x rays reveal that the compound crystallizes in tetragonal structure with lattice parameters, = 5.4609(2) \AA and = 7.7113(7)
\AA. The temperature dependent powder x ray studies reveal no structural phase
transition in the temperature range 10 -- 300 K. However, the unit cell volume
shows an anomaly coinciding with the magnetic transition temperature thereby
suggesting a close connection between lattice and magnetism. Neutron
diffraction studies and subsequent bond valence sums analysis show that in
SrFeCoO, the site is randomly occupied by Fe and Co in the
mixed valence states of Fe/Fe and Co/Co. The random
occupancy and mixed valence sets the stage for inhomogeneous magnetic exchange
interactions and in turn, for the spin glass like state in this double
perovskite which is observed as an irreversibility in temperature dependent dc
magnetization at 75 K. Thermal hysteresis observed in the
magnetization profile of SrFeCoO is indicative of the mixed
magnetic phases present. The dynamic magnetic susceptibility displays
characteristic frequency dependence and confirms the spin glass nature of this
material. Dynamical scaling analysis of yields a critical
temperature = 75.14(8) K and an exponent = 6.2(2) typical for
spin glasses. The signature of presence of mixed magnetic interactions is
obtained from the thermal hysteresis in magnetization of SrFeCoO.
Combining the neutron and magnetization results of SrFeCoO, we deduce
the spin states of Fe to be in low spin while that of Co to be in low spin and
intermediate spin.Comment: 23 pages, 6 figures, accepted in J. Appl. Phy
