    Mining Frequent Item Sets from incremental database: A single pass approach

    Apriori based Association Rule Mining (ARM) is one of the data mining techniques used to extract hidden knowledge from datasets that can be used by an organization2019;s decision makers to improve overall profit. Performing Existing association mining algorithms requires repeated passes over the entire database. Obviously, for large database, the role of input/output overhead in scanning the database is very significant. We propose a new algorithm, which would mine frequent item sets with vertical format. The new algorithm would need to scan database one time. And in the follow-up data mining process, it can get new frequent item sets through 'and operation' between item sets. The new algorithm needs less storage space, and can improve the efficiency of data mining

    Channel Aware Uplink Scheduler for a Mobile Subscriber Station of IEEE 802.16e

    The scheduling part of the IEEE 802.16 (WiMAX) standards is kept as an open issue to provide differentiation among equipment manufacturers and operators. The uplink scheduling is very significant and more complex compared to downlink scheduling. Uplink scheduling is divided into two parts; one is scheduling the resources among many users from a base station (BS) and the other is sharing the resources among its services in a single user. BS uplink scheduling has been given more attention compared to subscriber station (SS) uplink scheduling. SS scheduler plays a significant role in providing the quality of service (QoS) among its services. The channel status awareness is vital in designing the SS scheduler as the channel conditions vary for a mobile user. This work proposes a scheduling algorithm for SS, which utilizes the channel information and queue length variation for the reallocation of received aggregated bandwidth grant to optimize the QoS parameters. The performance of the proposed algorithm is studied by conducting simulations using QualNet 5.0.2 simulation tool. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm to improve the QoS

    What can the SNO Neutral Current Rate teach us about the Solar Neutrino Anomaly

    We investigate how the anticipated neutral current rate from SNOSNO will sharpen our understanding of the solar neutrino anomaly. Quantitative analyses are performed with representative values of this rate in the expected range of 0.8−1.20.8 - 1.2. This would provide a 5−10σ5 - 10 \sigma signal for νe\nu_e transition into a state containing an active neutrino component. Assuming this state to be purely active one can estimate both the 8B^8B neutrino flux and the νe\nu_e survival probability to a much higher precision than currently possible. Finally the measured value of the NCNC rate will have profound implications for the mass and mixing parameters of the solar neutrino oscillation solution.Comment: Brief discussion on the first NC result from SNO added; final version to be published in the MPL

    Traffic Sensitive and Traffic Load Aware Path Selection Algorithm For MMR WIMAX Networks

    The recent developments in the broadband wireless access (BWA) communication systems have introduced several major changes to the existing systems. Legacy IEEE 802.16j is one such amendment to the existing IEEE 802.16 WiMAX family. The key modification introduced by 802.16j system is the concept of relay station (RS), which may be used to enhance the system coverage or to make system throughput optimal. The end terminals, subscriber stations (SS) are unchanged in the standard. The overall change pertinent to the system has raised many unresolved issues related to RS and multi-hop relay base station (MR-BS). The selection of path from a SS to MR-BS via a RS is also one of the issues, need to be addressed. The path selection of a SS in both uplink and downlink directions is left open in the standard. It is very significant to satisfy the traffics of stringent quality of service (QoS) requirements and to appropriately manage the resources of a cell under different circumstances. This paper proposes a path selection algorithm to achieve the aforementioned qualities in the network. The path selection metrics include traffic load of the transparent relay station and traffic sensitivity factor of the SS.     Isolation, screening, and characterization of plant growth enhancing endophytic bacteria from halophytic Heliotropium curassavicum L. collected from salt stress areas of Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh

    Farmers use excessive chemical fertilizers to boost crop productivity to meet growing agricultural demands. However, this practice is costly and environmentally hazardous. Sustainable increase in crop yield can be achieved through alternatives like microbial-based fertilizers. In the quest to identify plant growth-promoting endophytic bacteria, the present study was carried out and selected unexplored halophytic plant Heliotropium curassavicum L. Thirteen endophytic bacterial strains were isolated from both aerial and root portions of H.curassavicum. These isolates were tested for salt tolerance, enzyme production, and synthesis of growth-promoting secondary metabolites, like Indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) and phosphate solubilization . Most of the isolates belonged to the Bacillus family, exhibiting varying Gram staining and biochemical reactions. The majority are Gram-positive bacteria, non-motile, spore formers, and exist in two cells or chains. All isolates could tolerate up to 10% NaCl concentration and a temperature of 42°C. Based on phenotypic, bio-chemical characteristics, isolate HCR3 showed promising properties in synthesizing IAA and phosphate solubilization abilities. The isolate HCR3 grew well upto 10% NaCl concentration and also 42°C temperature. Based on molecular characterization by using 16S rRNA gene-based analysis HCR3 isolate was identified and belonged to the Genus Pseudomonas with the highest similarity index with Pseudomonas khazarica sp. HCR3 showed IAA production of 37µg ml-1, had a phosphate solubilization ability of 3.5 ppm, and recorded protease activity on gelatin medium. The findings highlight the potential of HCR3 and other strains from halophytic H. curassavicum L. to enhance plant growth through secondary bioactive metabolites, offering eco-friendly solutions for sustainable agriculture

    Screening of salt tolerant endophytic bacteria with plant growth promoting characters isolated from Acanthus ilicifolius L., a species of mangrove ecosystem located at Corangi wildlife sanctuary, Andhra Pradesh

    Mangroves harbour many beneficial microorganisms in their rhizosphere, phyllosphere and endophytically, which forms an ideal ecological habitation for isolating halotolerant endophytic bacteria with unique characteristics. Endophytes can produce numerous bioactive secondary metabolites and phytohormones, which may be directly or in some way beneficial to the host plant.   The present study aimed to identify novel endophytes capable of producing plant growth-promoting substances. The mangrove plants Acanthus ilicifolius L. at Corangi Wildlife Sanctuary were selected, and their leaves and roots were collected for endophyte isolation. Eight isolates from the leaves and roots were collected, purified and preserved. All these isolates were subjected to morphological, phenotypical and biochemical studies. Isolates were grown best at 3% NaCl nutrient agar and could tolerate salinity upto 8%NaCl. Most of them could grow upto 42°C. The majority were gram’s positive, motile, aerobic, rod-shaped and some were gram’s negative, rod-shaped organisms. Many of the endophytic organisms had the ability to synthesize Indole-3-acetic acid(IAA) varied from 0.7 µg/ml (AIL1) to 51.0 µg/ml (AIL2) and the highest phosphate solubilizing ability was recorded with AIR3 (3.71 ppm) followed by AIR4 (3.00 ppm) and lowest was recorded by AIL4 (1.80 ppm). Among total isolates, AIL2 (51µg/ml) showed promising potential in producing IAA and had phosphate solubilization ability. Based on 16S ribosomal RNA molecular method the isolate AIL2 was identified as Bacillus altitudinis. This is the first to report that B.altitudinis strain AIL2 isolated from A.ilicifolius L. could produce IAA, which can be used as a bioinoculant in agriculture and allied sector

    DOCKING STUDIES ON BIOACTIVE COMPOUNDS OF NYCTANTHES ARBOR-TRISTIS

    Objective: The aim of the present study is to predict the interaction between selected ligand and different types of inflammatory and cancer target proteins.Methods: In silico study of protein-ligand interaction involves molecular docking, where the binding energy and geometry of ligands, substrates or possible drug candidates to target proteins is predicted by using computational chemistry methods. Results: A highest binding energy of-4.35 kcal/mol at 10th run was observed with C15H24O11 compound from dried stem methanolic extract on Nyctanthes arbor-tristis against 1JNX receptor protein. 4.37 kcal/mol at 10th run was observed with C21H14O4compound fromdried fruit methanolic extract against 1CX2. 2ITO lung cancer protein with ligand from dried fruit methanolic showed a highest binding energy of-6.77 kcal/mol at 10th run with different bond interactions. Among all the drugs 2ITO showed its effectiveness in binding with selected cancer target proteins.Conclusion: The results reveal in silico study support the interaction of protein-ligand that is binding and interaction of ligands from N. arbor-tristis with inflammatory and cancer targets in molecular docking studies.Keywords: Molecular Docking Studies, Nyctanthes arbor-tristis, Glycosides and Phenols, Methonolic extractsÂ
