ANALYSIS OF LEARNING ACTIVITIES AND OUTCOMES THROUGH STATIC FLUID LKPD BASED ON VIRTUAL LAB ON STUDENTS OF MAN 1 JEMBER

Static fluid material is one of the materials in school where some students still have difficulty understanding concepts. The learning process using LKPD is more effective than without using LKPD because the use of LKPD allows students to be active in learning activities. The research method used by the author is descriptive qualitative. This study used pretest and posttest to determine the development of students' science process skills. Based on the results of the analysis that has been carried out, it has been proven that the virtual lab-based LKPD has a positive effect on the activities and learning outcomes of MAN 1 Jember students. This is evidenced by the post-test value which is higher than the pretest value. Besides that, With LKPD students become more active and have a higher interest than without using LKPD. Based on the analysis that has been done, it can be concluded that the use of Static Fluid LKPD has a positive influence on the activities and learning outcomes of MAN 1 Jember students

Syndrome of Transient Headache and Neurologic Deficits With Cerebrospinal Fluid Lymphocitosis Should Be Considered in Children Presenting With Acute Confusional State

Transient headache and neurologic deficits with cerebrospinal fluid lymphocytosis (HaNDL) is benign and self-limited, with neurologic deficits including sensory disturbance of one body side, aphasia, nausea/vomiting, weakness, decreased vision, homonymous hemianopsia, photophobia. Acute confusional state can rarely occur. Papilledema and intracranial hypertension have also been described. It is a rare entity mainly affecting adults; however, it has been sporadically described in children and adolescents

Chronic granulomatous disease is a rare primary immunodeficiency caused by phagocytic cell defect. We describe the case of 43-month-old boy with chronic granulomatous disease presenting with Salmonella spp brain abscesses, together with a review of the 13 cases reported in the literature

Familial Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis Type 3 Diagnosed at School Age: A Case Report

Familial hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) is a rare, life-threatening condition characterized by immune hyperactivation and clinical signs of extreme inflammation. We describe a 7-year-old male who presented with fever resistant to antibiotic therapy, pancytopenia, splenomegaly, hypertriglyceridemia, and hyperferritinemia. Bone marrow aspirate showed hemophagocytosis. Epstein-Barr virus genome was positive in blood. Functional screening showed reduced capacity of cytotoxic degranulation. Mutation analysis of the FHL-related genes revealed compound heterozygous for UNC13D mutations: c. 753+ 1G>T, and the novel c.544C>T (p.P182S). Patients with a clinical presentation of HLH, even if older than typically seen, should be screened for familial HLH by mutation analysis

Introduction: Chronic headaches are not a rare condition in children and adolescents with negative effects on their quality of life. Our aims were to investigate the clinical features of chronic headache and usefulness of the International Classification of Headache Disorders 3rd edition (ICHD 3) criteria for the diagnosis in a cohort of pediatric patients. Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the charts of patients attending the Headache Center of Bambino Ges\uf9 Children and Insubria University Hospital during the 2010-2016 time interval. Statistical analysis was conducted to study possible correlations between: (a) chronic primary headache (CPH) and demographic data (age and sex), (b) CPH and headache qualitative features, (c) CPH and risk of medication overuse headache (MOH), and (d) CPH and response to prophylactic therapies. Moreover, we compared the diagnosis obtained by ICHD 3 vs. ICHD 2 criteria Results: We included 377 patients with CPH (66.4% females, 33.6% males, under 18 years of age). CPH was less frequent under 6 years of age (0.8%; p 0.05). Conclusion: The ICHD 3 criteria show limitations when applied to children under 6 years of age. The risk of developing MOH increases with age. Although our "real word" study shows that amitriptyline and topiramate are the most effective drugs regardless of the CPH type, the lack of placebo-controlled data and the limited follow-up results did not allow us to conclude about the drug efficacy
