    Isospin effects on the mass dependence of balance energy

    We study the effect of isospin degree of freedom on balance energy throughout the mass range between 50 and 350 for two sets of isotopic systems with N/Z = 1.16 and 1.33 as well as isobaric systems with N/Z = 1.0 and 1.4. Our findings indicate that different values of balance energy for two isobaric systems may be mainly due to the Coulomb repulsion.     Duodenal duplication cyst in an adult: a rare case.

    Duodenal duplication cysts are rare congenital anomalies, found commonly in infants and children. In rare instances they can occur in adults, often manifesting clinically as pancreatitis. We here present one such case of an 18-year-old female, who presented with symptoms of duodenal obstruction, weight loss and pancreatitis. She was diagnosed as having a duodenal duplication cyst (DDC) on a CT scan. She made a good recovery after a total cyst excision. This case report aims to highlight the importance of clinicians having duplication cysts in their list of differential diagnoses as these cases are often under-diagnosed due to their rare occurrences

    This paper introduces a software for dyslexic patients. Dyslexia is a brain condition in which people face problems in detecting words, reading sentences. They cannot read words aloud and they get confused in similar alphabets and numbers. This problem can be cured but it requires proper attention and training to dyslexic people. Training is given like word detecting practices, character visualization, practicing similar alphabets, teaching phonics. This software is based on artificial intelligence and virtual reality. It will try to help dyslexic people and will improve their condition. This software will also contain some animations to reduce the frustration level of dyslexics

    Mother’s experience in alternate birth positions during second stage of labour

    Background: The main objective of our research was to study mother’s experience in alternate birth positions during second stage of labour. Evidently, providing freedom to choose birthing positions positively impacts the women’s comfort level and intrapartum birthing experience. Methods: In the present study we counselled our antenatal and intranatal patients about the benefits and risks of alternate birthing positions. We enrolled 50 consecutive consenting parturients with prior vaginal delivery, who opted to adopt alternate birth position during second stage of labour. Maternal experience of birthing in alternate positions was compared to her experience in previous childbirth in dorsal position by using a standard pre-validated questionnaire using Likert scale with close ended and open-ended questions. Results: In our study, 49/50 (98%) mothers found alternate positions helpful, 46/50 (92%) mothers reported bearing down was easier, 47/50 (94%) mothers felt they would recommend alternate birth positions to others, for 49/50 (98%) parturients progression of labour was satisfactory, 48/50 (96%) had a good birthing experience, 44/50 (88%) felt duration of labour was less than what they had expected and 46/50 (92%) parturients reported that birthing experience in alternate birth position was more comfortable as compared to their previous delivery. Conclusions: Overall experience of delivering in alternate birth position was positive. Thus, it is clear that when women are informed and educated about their options, they are in a better position to make decisions from the available options and gain a sense of control over their healthcare with improved satisfaction and experience

    The title compound crystallizes in the monoclinic crystal system with space group P21/c having unit cell parameters: a=7.6329(4), b=7.8137(4), c=28.0651(14) Å, ? =95.995o. The structure converges to a final R-value of 0.0563. The two C-N bonds in Ring B are puckered as the torsion around these bonds is 29.67(2)o and -18.49(2)o , respectively. The two methyl carbons as well as the oxygen atom of the central N-containing five-membered ring (B) are significantly deviated from their mean positions. The magnitude of dihedral angle between the phenyl ring A and B is 133.09(1)o while it is 170.43(1)o between ring B and the phenyl ring C. This indicates that the molecule adopts a non-planar configuration. The crystal structure is stabilized by few C-H…O and C-H…N inter and intramolecular hydrogen interactions

    Circuits for Optical Based Line of Sight Voice Communication

    We present here line of sight communication between a person and his neighbour with the help of optical signal produced by a laser torch which act as a carrier. It is therefore a wireless communication and the transmission can go up to 500 meters. We used photodiode to receive the signal at the receiver. The transmitter circuit comprises condenser microphone transistor amplifier BC547 followed by an op-amp stage built around µA741. When we give a voice signal from the mike, it converts the voice signal into the electrical signal. This electrical signal is fed to IC741 (op-amp) for amplification. The gain of the op-amp can be controlled with the help of 1-mega-ohm potentiometer. The AF output from IC is coupled to the base of a class B amplifier which, in turn, modulates the signal. The transmitter uses 5V power supply. However, the 3-volt laser torch (after removal of its battery) can be directly connected to the circuit-with the body of the torch connected to the class B. The photodiode converts the optical signal into electrical signal and again this signal is amplified using IC741 and a combination of class B push pull amplifiers. The receiver circuit uses an NPN photodiode as the light sensor that is followed by a two-stage transistor preamplifier and IC741 based audio Power amplifier. The receiver does not need any complicated alignment. Just keep the photodiode oriented towards the remote transmitter's laser point and adjust the volume control for a clear sound.     India is agricultural based country where 70% of the population survives on it. In order to increase the production of field various pesticides are used. Chlorpyrifos (O,O-diethyl O-3,5,6-trichloro-2-pyridyl phosphorothioate) is an organophosphate pesticide which is widely used as insecticide for crop protection. But due to its persistent nature into the environment, it is leading to various hazards including neurotoxic effects, cardiovascular diseases and respiratory diseases. Bioremediation is a technology to eliminate chlorpyrifos efficiently from the environment. In bioremediation of chlorpyrifos the potential degradative microorganisms possess opd (organophosphate degrading) gene which hydrolyses the chlorpyrifos and utilizes it as a sole carbon source.Thus the present review discusses about how through bioremediation the pesticide chlorpyrifos can be degraded using potential soil microorganisms

    A study to assess prevalence of obesity among government employees of medical college in Madhya Pradesh, India

    Background: Obesity has become a major chronic disorder affecting the larger population more than any other disease in the world. Objective was to determine the prevalence of obesity among the government employees of G.R. Medical College, Gwalior.Methods: The present study has been undertaken among government employees of G.R. Medical College, Gwalior in which all the employees were interviewed by a predesigned, pre-tested and pre-validated structured Questionnaire. Anthropometric data regarding weight and height was taken. The data was collected and analyzed using statistical software and chi square and other statistical tests were applied.Results: The study shows that among total 215 employees. 35 (21.21%) males and 21 (42%) females were found overweight and obese with the criteria of BMI more than 25 kg/m2.Conclusions: It was concluded from the present study that obesity is a chronic illness. Early detection and appropriate intervention could prevent various complications associated with it. BMI plays a crucial role
