Improvement of Spreadsheet Quality through Reduction of End-User Overconfidence: Case Study
This paper is prompted by and based on earlier research into developers' overconfidence as one of the main causes of spreadsheet errors. Similar to related research, the aim of the paper was to ascertain the existence of overconfidence, and then examine the possibility of its reduction by means of experimental treatment designed for the needs of the research. A quasi-experiment was conducted to this end, in which 62 students of the Faculty of Economics of the University of Novi Sad participated, divided into the experimental and control group. Participants of both groups developed domain free spreadsheets in two iterations each. After the first iterations, students in the experimental group were subjected to experimental treatment: they attended lectures on spreadsheet errors taxonomies supported by real-life examples, and about spreadsheet best practices in the area of spreadsheet error prevention. Results showed that spreadsheet developers who were informed about spreadsheet error taxonomies and spreadsheet best practices create more accurate spreadsheets and are less self-confident in terms of accuracy of their spreadsheets
An Empirical Investigation of Software Testing Methods and Techniques in the Province of Vojvodina
A high-quality test design is a conditio sine qua non of successful software testing process, and its effectiveness depends, among other things, on the choice and proper use of appropriate methods and relevant software testing techniques. The main goal of this study was to provide insight into the use of current methods and relevant software testing techniques used in the test design phase of software testing process in software companies in the Province of Vojvodina. The empirical study was conducted by a survey research strategy in twenty-four software organisations. Eighty-three respondents took part in the survey. Descriptive analysis, correlation analysis, hierarchical cluster analysis, the multidimensional scaling, binomial test and Cohran\u27s Q test were used for analyzing gathered quantitative data. The survey results have shown that respondents use to a significant extent the techniques belonging to ISO/IEC/IEEE 29119 testing standard. Comparison of the gathered data with individual results of similar studies conducted in Canada, Australia and Turkey has shown similarities between them and companies in the Province of Vojvodina. The findings of this study present empirically verified recommendations for testing design phase realization in the form of least and most used software testing methods and techniques, their benefits, limitations and details in application, similarities between software testing techniques, software testing techniques clusters and the probability of use of individual techniques
Inovacijske moguÄnosti koje nudi upotreba wikija u izvoÄenju visokoÅ”kolskih kolegija: implementacijsko modeliranje
Research results point to the great innovation potentials of Wikis in the university teaching process, but also to problems arising in the course of their implementation. This article proposes a model for implementing a wiki within the course of Innovation Management, based on the experiences of some university wiki systems implemented earlier, and the results of a survey conducted among the students of the Faculty of Economics in Subotica.Rezultati istraživanja otkrivaju znaÄajne inovacijske potencijale upotrebe wikija u sveuÄiliÅ”noj nastavi, ali i probleme koji nastaju tijekom njihove implementacije. Kanali distribucije u savremenom bankarstvu
U savremenim uslovima neizvesnog i izuzetno konkurentnog okruženja banke su izložene velikom pritisku unapreÄenja kvaliteta usluga, uz istovremeno smanjenje troÅ”kova poslovanja. U uslovima u kojima cenovna konkurentnosti ne obezbeÄuje dovoljan prostor za tržiÅ”no pozicioniranje, banke su suoÄene sa imperativnom poboljÅ”anja korisniÄkog servisa. Navedena tendencija je posebno izraženo za retail bankarski segment, pri Äemu kanali distribucije igraju kljuÄnu ulogu u pružanju kvalitetnijeg korisniÄkog iskustva, jer interakcije sa klijentima poÄinju i zavrÅ”avaju u okviru kanala distribucije. Korisnici bankarskih usluga oÄekuju sve veÄu udobnost, dostupnost, personalizaciju i pouzdanost kanala bankarskih distributivnih mreža. Da bi ostvarile postavljene zahteve korisnika banke se u velikoj meri oslanjaju na moguÄnosti i novitete informaciono-komunikacione tehnologije.
Aktuelnost predložene teme predstavljala osnovnu motivaciju autorima ove monografije posveÄene analizi razvoja i trendova u oblasti elektronskog bankarstva, kanala distribucije i elektronskih transakcija. Autori priloga predstavili su rezultate analize pojedinih tema koji dominantno targetiraju segment kanala u savremenom bankarstvu. Osvrt na istorijski razvoj elektronskog bankarstva, sa akcentom na uticaj i prilagoÄavanje bankarskog poslovanja inovacijama koje je donosio revolucionarni razvoj informaciono-komunikacione tehnologije. Posebna dimenzija prvog poglavlja predstavlja i analizu najnovijih trendova u Srbiji. U okviru drugog poglavlja detaljno su opisani rizici sa kojima se banke suoÄavaju u domenu elektronskog bankarstva, a pored pregleda situacije u Srbiji, dat je pregled i za Bosnu i Hercegovinu, Crnu Goru i Hrvatsku. TreÄe poglavlje je posveÄeno izazovima kojima se banke suoÄavaju u retail sektoru kada su u pitanju elektronski kanali distribucije. Predstavljeni su rezultati analize trendova koji utiÄu na promene u bankarskim kanalima distribucije. Poglavlje obuhvata i kriterijume za izbor optimalne strategije kanala distribucije. Veoma važna tema, razvoj i trendovi u oblasti platnih kartica vrlo detaljno je predstavljena u Äetvrtom poglavlju.
Centralni deo monografije, peto poglavlje, posveÄeno je vrlo aktuelnoj temi ā moguÄnostima primene druÅ”tvenih mreža u bankarstvu. Poglavlje obraÄuje fenomen Interneta i Web 2.0 tehnologije i servisa bazirane na njoj. Tema je obraÄena kroz dve perspektive: korisnika bankarskih usluga i banaka. LogiÄan nastavak ove teme su inovacije u mobilnom bankarstvu, obraÄenu u Å”estom poglavlju. Rast potreba korisnika za lagodnijim i lakÅ”im upravljanjem bankovnim raÄunima i drugim bankarskim uslugama morali su zadovoljiti i proizvoÄaÄi mobilnih telefona, a to se pre svega odnosi na razvoj aplikacija kao Å”to su Google Walet i Apple Pay.
Poslednja, treÄa glava monografije obuhvata temu elektronskih transakcija. Sedmo poglavlje obraÄuje vrlo važnu i kompleksnu oblast ā razmenu poslovnih transakcija. ObuhvaÄena je analiza rada klirinÅ”kih kuÄa, kao i reÅ”enja za elektronska plaÄanja poput MultiChain, Blue Mix i Bitcoin. Osmo poglavlje doprinosi kvalitetu monografije prikazom rezultata analize navika koje graÄani Srbije imaju u onlajn transakcijama u poreÄenju sa graÄanima razvijenih zemalja Evropske unije
SPREMNOST NA USVAJANJE I PRIMJENU TEHNOLOGIJA WEB 2.0 U SREDNJEM OBRAZOVANJU ā SLUÄAJ VOJVODINE
The rapid admission of information and communication technologies (ICT) into all the pores of social and economic life has (fortunately) included the education sphere: the ever-growing need for new knowledge acquisition methods unambiguously points to a need to step outside the established, analogue education systems into the digital, virtual educational space. Over the past few years, blogs, wikis, multimedia sharing and social networking sites have created a qualitatively new approach to knowledge, education and schooling. This article starts from the assumption that the advantages of Web 2.0 technologies can be channelled in favour of the common interest of all education process participants, and to that end, the authors have conducted empirical research into the level of willingness of key stakeholders (students, parents and teachers) in secondary education in Vojvodina to adopt contemporary, Web 2.0 based methods of knowledge transfer, sharing and adoption.Brzi ulazak informacijsko-komunikacijskih tehnologija (IKT) u sve pore druÅ”tvenog i ekonomskog života obuhvatio je (sreÄom) i obrazovnu sferu: rastuÄa potreba za novim metodama usvajanja znanja neupitno ukazuje na potrebni iskorak iz dobro utvrÄenih, analognih obrazovnih sustava u digitalni, virtualni obrazovni prostor. Proteklih nekoliko godina blogovi, wikiji, stranice za multimedijsko dijeljenje i druÅ”tveno umrežavanje stvorili su kvalitetno novi pristup znanju, obrazovanju i Å”kolovanju. Ovaj rad polazi od pretpostavke da se prednosti tehnologija Web 2.0 mogu usmjeriti ka zajedniÄkom interesu svih sudionika obrazovnog procesa i s tim su ciljem autori proveli empirijsko istraživanje o tome koliko su kljuÄni sudionici (uÄenici, roditelji i nastavnici) u srednjem obrazovanju u Vojvodini spremni usvojiti suvremene metode prenoÅ”enja, podjele i usvajanja znanja na naÄelima tehnologija 2.0
Critical success factors in ERP system adoption: comparative analysis of the private and the public sector
This research provides useful insight into differences in the perception of signifi cance and the
degree of fulfi llment of Critical Success Factors (CSFs) of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
adoption between private and public sector organizations. The survey was conducted on a sample
of 77 Serbian organizations, with approximately equal representation of those from the private and
the public sector. A comprehensive list of CSFs, compiled as a result of an extensive literature
review, was included in the questionnaire. The collected data and statistical procedures applied
revealed the CSFs that differentiate the organizations from the two observed sectors. Involvement
of end users in ERP adoption and implementation activities has proven to be the CSF in relation
to which the assessments and attitudes of organizations from the two sectors differ the most.
Results of this research indicate that differences between private and public sector organizations
are more distinct in terms of their level of fulfi llment of ERP adoption CSFs than they are in terms
of their assessment of CSFsā signifi cance. This points to a conclusion that differences in the way
of functioning and governance of organizations from these two sectors infl uence their ability to
tackle the problems much more than their ability to recognize them. The practical contribution of
this research is in providing some useful fi ndings that can greatly assist relevant stakeholders to
achieve a higher success rate in an ERP adoption. In addition to responding to the initial research
questions, this paper has also revealed new issues, suggesting the need for further research
What about the Chief Digital Officer? A Literature Review
Digital transformation is becoming more ingrained into everyday life and is a talking point among researchers today. It has been evident from the growing number of publications that have focused on various aspects of digital transformation in the last few years. Based on the number of papers published, one of them is of much less interest to researchers: the managerial role of Chief Digital Officer (CDO) inherent in digital transformation. Having this in mind, a systematic literature review was conducted to elucidate the CDOās role, duties, and required competencies. In this paper, the results and conclusions of 22 papers are presented based on the search criteria outlined by the Web of Science and Scopus index databases. It is obvious that managing digital transformation is becoming more important as digital transformation affects almost every sector of business. The purpose of this study is to examine the position of Chief Digital Officer in terms of its position, role, and responsibilities as well as its necessary competencies. The results of this study could serve as the basis for future research in this area, which judging by the relevance of the topic, will certainly be more intensive
