    Quantum Revivals in Periodically Driven Systems close to nonlinear resonance

    We calculate the quantum revival time for a wave-packet initially well localized in a one-dimensional potential in the presence of an external periodic modulating field. The dependence of the revival time on various parameters of the driven system is shown analytically. As an example of application of our approach, we compare the analytically obtained values of the revival time for various modulation strengths with the numerically computed ones in the case of a driven gravitational cavity.     Use of Oil-Based Mud Cutting Waste in Cement Clinker Manufacturing

    Oil-based Mud (OBM) cutting waste is generated during the process of oil well drilling. The drilled rocks are removed from deep within the drilled well and pumped to the surface. The portion removed , known at "cutting", is a mixture of rocks, mud, water and oil. Most drilling companies store this waste in open yards with no specific treatment solution. The environmental regulations in Oman specify that storage should involve isolation, to prevent penetration of the contamination to the surface and underground water. This has made OBM waste an environmental problem, with an associated cost for oil companies. OBM chemical analysis shows an interesting compositionthat may be used in cement manufacture. It has high calcium, silicon and aluminium contents, which are the major oxides in cement manufacture. Also the oil contents are useful for reducing the fuel used during the calcining and clinkerization process. In this research, the OBM waste has been analysed and used as a constituent of the raw meal for cement clinker production. The impact of OBM addition on the resultant clinker has also been investigated

    Coherent Acceleration of Material Wavepackets

    We study the quantum dynamics of a material wavepacket bouncing off a modulated atomic mirror in the presence of a gravitational field. We find the occurrence of coherent accelerated dynamics for atoms. The acceleration takes place for certain initial phase space data and within specific windows of modulation strengths.     Optimal Service-Based Competition with Heterogeneous Suppliers

    We investigate how a competition can be designed to maximize expected profit for a buyer who wishes to allocate demand among a diverse set of suppliers when his profit is dependent on the supplier’s service levels. The candidate suppliers are heterogeneous in their capacities and cost structures, and compete for shares of the buyer’s demand based on their promised service levels. To characterize the optimal competition, we first identify a family of allocation functions that are service maximizing, meaning they can intensify the competition to a point where each supplier provides its maximum feasible service level and the outcome of the competition is a predefined set of demand shares. We show that using a service maximizing allocation function is a necessary condition for solving the buyer’s problem. We then characterize the optimal demand allocation set and, when they are endogenous, the optimal procurement prices. When both demand allocation and procurement prices can be chosen by the buyer, we find that the competition also maximizes supply chain profit. Through a set of numerical examples, we show that the benefit of using this optimal competition design, including its specified demand allocation function and suggested procurement prices, can be significant

    Egg yolk IgY antibodies: A therapeutic intervention against group A rotavirus in calves

    Bovine group A rotavirus (RVA) is considered the major cause of diarrhea in intensively reared neonatal calves. Chicken egg yolk antibodies (IgY) are efficient in protecting neonatal calves from RVA diarrhea; however, the value of this intervention in calves once diarrhea has appeared is unclear. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the application of RVA-specific IgY as a passive treatment in those cases. The experimental groups were: G1 = RVA-specific IgY treatment; G2 = no Ab treatment; and G3 = colostrum deprived + no Ab treatment. IgY treatment significantly reduced virus shedding, diarrhea duration and severity compared to G2 and G3 calves. However, it caused a partial suppression of systemic Ab responses to RVA that could be associated with less severe diarrhea. The oral treatment with IgY for 7 days was associated with significantly higher antibody secreting cell responses in the calves compared with other groups of animals.Fil: Vega, Celina Guadalupe.     The smart Internet of Things-based system suggested in this research intends to increase network and application accuracy by controlling and monitoring the network. This is a deep learning network. The invisible layer's structure permits it to learn more. Improved quality of service supplied by each sensor node thanks to element-modified deep learning and network buffer capacity management. A customized deep learning technique can be used to train a system that can focus better on tasks. The researchers were able to implement wireless sensor calculations with 98.68 percent precision and the fastest execution time. With a sensor-based system and a short execution time, this article detects and classifies the proxy with 99.21 percent accuracy. However, we were able to accurately detect and classify intrusions and real-time proxy types in this study, which is a significant improvement over previous research

    Quantum Revivals in a Periodically Driven Gravitational Cavity

    Quantum revivals are investigated for the dynamics of an atom in a driven gravitational cavity. It is demonstrated that the external driving field influences the revival time significantly. Analytical expressions are presented which are based on second order perturbation theory and semiclassical secular theory. These analytical results explain the dependence of the revival time on the characteristic parameters of the problem quantitatively in a simple way. They are in excellent agreement with numerical results
