Socio-political structure of Tokat at the bases of the local electionsYerel seçim sonuçları temelinde Tokat’ın siyasi yapısı

The major ofjective of this study was to examine and discuss the political structure of Tokat and its place in the general political structure of Turkish society by using methods and techniques of political sociology. Structural-functionalist approach was used as the theoretical base. In the other words the formation of political power in Tokat and the overall operation and changing regularities were investigated. Both the province of Tokat and Tokat city center selected as the sampling group from the universe of Turkey. The evaluation of socio-political structure of Tokat in relation with the political structure of the Turkish society from the early 1960’s up to the present time was researched in this study. Findings clearly show that there is a overwhelming superiority of the right wing across the Tokat province. Although some seasonal differences in the proportional sense from past to present, the right political culture has been more effective in the political structure of the province. ÖzetYapısal-işlevselci sosyoloji perspektifinden bakıldığında toplumda altı temel kurum vardır. Her kurum toplumsal yapı içinde belli başlı işlevler yerine getirir. Bu toplumsal kurumların yerine getirdiği işlevler, toplumsal yapının varlığı ve devamı açısından hayati önem taşır. Siyaset kurumu da, bu altı temel toplumsal kurumdan bir tanesidir. Araştırmada, siyaset sosyolojisinin yöntem ve teknikleri kullanılarak, yapısal-işlevselci bir bakış açısından hareketle, Tokat’ın siyasi yapısı ve Türkiye’nin genel siyasi yapısı içindeki yerinin incelenmesi hedeflenmiştir. Başka bir ifadeyle Tokat’ta siyasi erkin oluşumu, şekillenişi, işleyiş ve değişim düzenliliklerinin araştırılması ve topyekûn Türk toplumu içindeki yerinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaca yönelik, son 10 yerel seçimin sonuçları incelendi. Bu bağlamda, Türkiye’nin siyasi yapısı içinde Tokat’ta siyasi yapının oluşumu, siyasi gücün dağılımı ve 1960’lı yıllardan günümüze değişim düzenliliklerine bakıldı. Son aşamada da, Tokat ile ilgili olarak ortaya konan bulguların Türk toplumu geneli içinde ifade ettiği anlam ele alındı. Bulgular, uzun yıllardan beridir Tokat’ın siyasi yapısında sağ siyaset geleneğinin belirleyici rol oyndaığını açık bir şekilde göstermektedir. Sağ partilerin gücü, kent merkezinde, kırsala oranla çok daha yüksek düzeyde olup, bu güç her geçen güç artmaktadır.
