Generation of Altitude Profiles of the Hydroxyl Airglow

    Get PDF
Research was done to generate altitude profiles of various bands using real data from SABER. The main purpose is to design a theoretical spectrometer based on the results obtained using the spectrometer aboard SABER. The main approach is to generate a theoretical model which uses the limb scan profile obtained from SABER and generates the profiles. This model will then be integrated into the larger framework to essentially find the radiance at a point given the temperature

This study aimed to select suitable strains that can be used as inoculants to enhance legume production and simultaneously reduce the use of inorganic fertilizers. Evaluations of the selected strains of Vigna radiata on the basis of polysaccharide (exopolysaccharides and lipopolysaccharides) produced reinforced evidence that Rhizobial strains and its mutant nodulate promote growth differently under stressed environments. Strains performance evaluation demonstrated that the R0132 (1106):Tn5 inoculant of Sinorhizobium fredii (Formerly, Rhizobium fredii) is a prime candidate as a commercial inoculant. It benefited growth of V. radiata and it was more easily cultured on solid and liquid media than any of the otherstrains tested including R0132 (1112):Tn5, R0132 (0097):Tn5 and R0132 (1106):Tn5. Mutant R0132 (1106):Tn5 exhibited superior growth promoting ability under extreme environmental condition; therefore it haspotential to be used in India

Objective: A novel series of substituted 3,3-diphenyl propanamide derivatives (I-VIII) were synthesized by reacting 3,3-diphenyl propanoyl chloride with different amines/amino acids, and all the derivatives were investigated for anthelmintic, antibacterial, and antifungal activity. Methods: All the compounds were characterized by infrared (IR) and1H- nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometry data. The synthesized derivatives were investigated for their anthelmintic activity employing housefly worms method and earthworm species model. The antibacterial and antifungal activity was performed employing cup plate method. Results: The synthesized compounds (VII and VIII) exhibited maximum anthelmintic activity as compared with standard drug albendazole at doses of 50 and 100 mg/mL, due to minimal paralyzing and death time in both housefly and earthworm models. The compounds (IV, VII, and VIII) at 50 μg/mL exhibited maximum activity against Gram-negative bacterial strains, namely, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa as compared with ciprofloxacin and same compounds exhibited maximum antifungal activity against Candida albicans and Aspergillus niger in comparison with standard drug griseofulvin at 50 μg/mL.Conclusion: The synthesized compounds bearing amino acid moiety in their structure (VII-VIII) exhibited impressive anthelmintic activity in comparison with albendazole. This suggests that amino acid/peptide derivative of diphenyl propanamides can act as great anthelmintic agents. Further, the research can be performed to design potent antimicrobial diphenyl propanamide derivatives.Â

Radiographic diagnosis of a rare case of oculo-dento-digital dysplasia

Oculodentodigital dysplasia (ODDD), also known as oculodento-osseous dysplasia, is an extremely rare autosomal dominant disorder with high penetrance, intra- and interfamilial phenotypic variability, and advanced paternal age in sporadic cases. The incidence of this disease is not precisely known, with only 243 cases reported in the scientific literature, suggesting an incidence of around 1 in 10 million people. It is marked mainly by eye abnormalities, craniofacial dysmorphism, dental anomalies, hand and foot malformations, various skeletal defects, and mildly delayed mental development. Neurological changes may appear earlier in each subsequent generation. This case report describes a radiological diagnosis of ODDD based on physical appearance, clinical features and radiographic findings in a 16-year-old girl
