Effects of Methamphetamine on Testes Histopathology and Spermatogenesis Indices of Adult Male Rats
Background: Methamphetamine (mAMP) as a recreational drug has devastating effects on the central nervous system (CNS). Several studies have shown that mAMP has inhibitory effects on oogenesis and spermatogenesis, and causes impaired fertility. This study designed to investigate the effect of mAM Padministration on histological changes and spermatogenesis indices in the testis of adult male rats. Methods: In this experimental study, 50 male Wistar rats were randomly divided into control (received no treatment, n = 10), vehicle (received saline for 7 and 14 days, n = 20), and experimental group [received mAMP, 5 ml/kg, intraperitoneal (IP) for 7 and 14 days, n = 20]. Testicular tissue samples were stained by hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) technique. For histological study, we counted the number of spermatogonia, spermatocytes and Leydig cells. Spermatogenesis indices which include: tubular differentiation index (TDI), spermiogenesis index (SI), repopulation index (RI) and the mean seminiferous tubules diameter (MSTD) were studied. Data were analyzed by one-way ANOVA, using SPSS software. P < 0.05 was considered statistically significant.Findings: This study showed that mAMP caused a significant decrease in number of seminiferous tubules cells and spermatogenesis in treated group compared with the control group. Moreover, results showed a significant decrease in spermatogenesis indices including TDI, SI, RI, and MSTD in 14th day, compared to control group (P < 0.001).Conclusion: The data showed the adverse effects of mAMP administration (for 7 and 14 days) on testes structure and spermatogenesis indices in rat testis tissue. The underlying mechanism(s) needs further investigation
Современные тенденции развития автомобильной промышленности и перспективы российского автопрома
Production and sale of cars has traditionally been one of the largest and fastest growing sectors of the world economy. Today, the main leaders in world car production are China, the United States, Japan and Germany. The significance of the automobile industry in the development of national economies is a universally recognized fact, therefore many other countries also try to develop their automobile industry, inevitably entering into competition with world leaders. In these conditions, the actual task is to choose the right strategy, combining the observance of national interests against the background of integration into the global economy. Entering the market for new players will have a significant drying on the supply-demand ratio and in the future will change the situation in the industry. The purpose of this study is to analyze trends in the development of the global automotive industry and identify key competitive factors in the future, understanding which will allow developing countries, as well as Russia, to compete successfully with today's automobile leaders.

Comparison of the relationship between women's empowerment and fertility between single-child and multi-child families
Background: The reduction in fertility and increase in the number of single-child families in Iran will result in an increased risk of population aging. One of the factors affecting fertility is women's empowerment. This study aimed to evaluate the relationship between women's empowerment and fertility in single-child and multi-child families. Materials and Methods: This case-control study was conducted among 350 women (120 who had only 1 child as case group and 230 who had 2 or more children as control group) of 15–49 years of age in Isfahan, Iran, in 2016. For data collection, a 2-part questionnaire was designed. Data were analyzed using independent t-test, Chi-square test, and logistic regression analysis. Results: The difference between average scores of women's empowerment in the case group 54.08 (9.88) and control group 51.47 (8.57) was significant (p = 0.002). Simple logistic regression analysis showed that under diploma education, compared to postgraduate education, (OR = 0.21, p = 0.001) and being a housewife, compared to being employed, (OR = 0.45, p = 0.004) decreased the odds of having only 1 child. Multiple logistic regression results showed that the relationship between women's empowerment and fertility was not significant (p = 0.265). Conclusions: Although women in single-child families were more empowered, this was not the main reason for their preference to have only 1 child. In fact, educated and employed women postpone marriage and childbearing and limit fertility to only 1 child despite their desire
Survey on Environmental Indices of Primary School in Behshahr City, Iran 2012-2013
Background and purpose: Schools are the most appropriate and reliable places for training and educating students. If health principles are not observed in schools, students will be prone to different kinds of health problems. Thus the aim of this research is to study the environmental indices in primary schools in the Behshahr city in 2012. Materials and Methods: This is a cross sectional descriptive study. 20 private and governmental primary schools affiliated to ministry of education were selected using census method. Data were collected in the questionnaire prepared based on the environmental standard of the ministry of health. The questionnaire was filled during interviews with school principal and direct observation. The data were analyzed using, Excel, and SPSS softwares. Results: The results of this search showed the hygienic statues of schools in water supplying (85%), waste water disposal (75%) and washbasins (70%), garbage disposal (100%) were favorable. But they were unfavorable for play ground 90%, green area 95%, lavatory with flash tank and ventilation 80% window without net 90% and fire extinguishing capsule 80%.The findings also showed a significant difference between the health statuses of different schools. Conclusion: Most (80%) schools had a pleasant situation or a relatively acceptable hygiene regarding the health instruction guide for schools' environment. This requires more attention of the authorities towards the improvement and promotion of the hygienic status of schools
Prognostic correlation of NOTCH1 and SF3B1 mutations with chromosomal abnormalities in chronic lymphocytic leukemia patients
Abstract Background and Aim Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) is a monoclonal malignancy of B lymphocytes. Since common mutations in NOTCH1 and SF3B1, along with other possible chromosomal alterations, change disease severity and survival of patients with CLL, we aimed to evaluate the correlation of common mutations in NOTCH1 and SF3B1 as the poor prognostic markers with chromosomal abnormalities and clinical hematology. Method This retrospective study was performed on the peripheral blood of 51 patients diagnosed before chemotherapy with CLL. G‐banding karyotype and FISH were performed. For NOTCH1, exon 34 and for SF3B1, exons 14,15,16 were assessed using Sanger sequencing. Results The mutation frequency of NOTCH1 and SF3B1 with the pathogenic clinical status was 6:51 (11.76%), and variants obtained from both genes were 9:51 (17.64%). The frequency of SF3B1 mutation (K666E) was higher than in previous studies (p‐value <.05). There was a significant correlation between NOTCH1 mutations and del17p13 (p‐value = .068), also SF3B1 mutations with del11q22 (p‐value = .095) and del13q14 (p‐value = .066). Up to 90% of the specific stimuli used for the G‐banding karyotype successfully identified the malignant clone. There was a significant relationship between the cluster of differentiation 38 (CD38) expression level and NOTCH1 mutations (p‐value = .019) and a significant correlation between Binet classification and the SF3B1 (p‐value = .096). Conclusion The correlation of NOTCH1 and SF3B1 mutations with chromosomal abnormalities and CD38 expression may reveal the overall patient's survival rate. The mutations may be effective in the clonal expansion and progression of CLL, particularly in the diagnosis stage, as well as the control and management of the treatment
