Precalculated arrays-based algorithms for the calculation of the Riemann zeta-function
In this paper, we continue the study of efficient algorithms for the computation of the Riemann zeta function on the complex plane. We introduce two precalculated arrays-based modifications of MB-method. We perform numerical experiments with these algorithms using Zetafast as a benchmark and apply the algorithms for the visualizations of fractal structures associated with the Riemann zeta function
Mes baltai
Alkuteos: Sabaliauskas, Algirdas: Mes baltai. Vilnius : Gimtasis žodis, 2002.Kielitieteilijä ja baltologi Algirdas Sabaliauskasin tuntee Liettuassa lähes jokainen. Yksi Algirdas Sabaliauskasin kaikkein tunnetuimmista kirjoista – myös Liettuan ulkopuolella – on Me – baltit (Mes baltai, 1986, 2002), joka on jo käännetty monille kielille: englanniksi (1993), ruotsiksi (2005), italiaksi (2007), unkariksi (2012) ja latviaksi (2014). Kirja tutustuttaa lyhyesti, kiehtovasti ja mielenkiintoisesti balttilaisten kielten alkuperään, muinaisbalttien asuinpaikkoihin, historiaan, balttilaisten kielten sukulaisuuteen, ensimmäisiin kirjallisiin lähteisiin ja balttilaisten kielten tutkimiseen ja opiskeluun. Erilliset luvut on omistettu muinaispreussille.
Management of Construction and Real Estate Under Conditions of Market Instability
Monograph deals with significant theoretical and practical issues on construction and real estate market fluctuations, their determinants and crisis management measures. It discusses real estate markets fluctuations in Lithuania and abroad, their consequences and problem-solving experiences. Significance of construction and real estate market in the economy in emphasised. The monograph is interdisciplinary in nature; studies of the authors can be linked to construction, economics and management fields. Monograph contains a detailed analysis of the construction and real estate market, and the results are relevant not only in the academic context, but significant for all stakeholders of construction and real estate markets. The presented data, the theoretical and practical insights can be useful for real estate appraisers, developers, construction businesses, public authorities, as well as master and PhD students. Monograph consists of three coherent chapters and aims to analyse fluctuations in different construction and real estate market segments in detail. Furthermore, determinants of crises and consequences as well as possible measures for construction and real estate management under conditions of market instability presented.
The publication of monograph was funded by European Social Fund according to project No. VP1-2.2-ŠMM-07-K-02-060 Development and Implementation of Joint Master’s Study Programme “Sustainable Development of the Built Environment”
Comparative analysis of physical development and functional capacity of different sports athletes during competition period
The aim of this study was to compare physical fitness of high performance canoeists, rowers, Greek-Roman style wrestlers, basketball players and skiers during their competition period. Indices of physical development, muscle and fat mass and their ratios were obtained. Single muscular contraction power (SMCP) and anaerobic alactic muscular power (AAMP) were also measured. The anaerobic glycolytic power (AGP) was estimated by ergometer. The Bosco methodology was used to estimate the activity of fast twitch fibres (FTF). The psychomotor response time (PRT) and movement frequency (MF) per 10 s were estimated and Roufier index (RI) was applied to measure functional capacity of circulatory and respiratory systems. The examination of athletes specialising in five different sports allowed for identification of the peculiarities of sports specialisation. The distinctive height, highest body weight and static hand power values characterised rowers and basketball players; while canoeists had the highest muscle mass. Only canoeists achieved high SMCP during the competition period. The SMCP of rowers and skiers was optimal, whereas the basketball players and wrestlers demonstrated an insufficient single muscular contraction power. The highest anaerobic alactic muscle power was observed in basketball players and canoeists, whereas in the muscles the basketball players and wrestlers the activity of FTF was insufficient. Though its parameters were approximate to endurance-trained rowers, they considerably fell behind those of canoeists. The functional capacity of circulatory and respiratory system of skiers was highest. The research revealed that the majority of indices of skiers and wrestlers’ physical fitness were lowest among the other studied athletes. Such results reflect their limited potential to achieve high results in international competitions
