Short term effect of human lymphocytes viability upon exposure of products with parabens
Personal care products are commonly used in personal hygiene and constitutes of
broad classes of chemical compounds. Since 1930s, paraben have been used in
cosmetic as preservatives. However, paraben effect has become controversial due to
report on estrogenic activity. The aims of this study are to determine the effect of
lymphocyte viability and morphological after being administered products with
paraben at different concentrations for short term exposure. Blood sample were drew
from seven healthy subjects. Lymphocytes were isolated using EasySep Direct
Human Total Lymphocyte Isolation Kit. The MTT assay was used to determine
lymphocytes viability. Blood smear and stained with Wright's stain were used to
determine the morphological changes of the lymphocytes. The result showed
significant (p < 0.001) and moderate positive (r = 0.351) correlation between paraben
concentration with the percentage of lymphocyte viability. The cell viability recorded
for methyl paraben was up to 120%. The lymphocytes rapidly proliferate due to
antigen that bind to the receptors and activates the lymphocytes. This showed that
products with paraben have toxicity effects towards lymphocytes even after being
exposed in short period of time
A research on the synchronization of two novel chaotic systems based on a nonlinear active control algorithm
The problem of chaos synchronization is to design a coupling between two chaotic systems (master-slave/drive-response systems configuration) such that the chaotic time evaluation becomes ideal and the output of the slave (response) system asymptotically follows the output of the master (drive) system.This paper has addressed the chaos synchronization problem of two chaotic systems using the Nonlinear Control Techniques, based on Lyapunov stability theory.It has been shown that the proposed schemes have outstanding transient performances and that analytically as well as graphically, synchronization is asymptotically globally stable.Suitable feedback controllers are designed to stabilize the closed-loop system at the origin. All simulation results are carried out to corroborate the effectiveness of the proposed methodologies by using Mathematica 9
An improved positivity preserving odd degree-n Said-Ball boundary curves on rectangular grid using partial differential equation
This paper discusses the sufficient conditions for positivity preserving odd degree-n Said-Ball boundary curves defined on a rectangular grid.We derive a sufficient condition on boundary curves of rectangular Said-Ball patches where the lower bound ordinates are adjusted independently.To construct the boundary curves for each rectangular patch, the Said-Ball polynomial solution of fourth order PDE will be considered where its coefficients can be calculated using edge Said-Ball ordinates which fulfill the positivity preserving conditions.Graphical examples are presented using well-known test functions
Analysing elephant habitat parameters using GIS, remote sensing and analytic hierarchy process in Peninsular Malaysia
Geographic Information System (GIS) and remote sensing are geospatial technologies that have been used for many years in environmental studies, including gathering and analysing of information on the physical parameters of wildlife habitats and modelling of habitat assessments. The home range estimation provided in a GIS environment offers a viable method of quantifying habitat use and facilitating a better understanding of species and habitat relationships. This study used remote sensing, GIS and Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) application tools as methods to assess the habitat parameters preference of Asian elephant. Satellite images and topographical maps were used for the environmental and topographical habitat parameter generation encompassing land use-land cover (LULC), Normalized Digital Vegetation Index (NDVI), water sources, Digital Elevation Model (DEM), slope and aspect. The kernel home range was determined using elephant distribution data from satellite tracking, which were then analysed using habitat parameters to investigate any possible relationship. Subsequently, the frequency of the utilization distribution of elephants was further analysed using spatial and geostatistical analyses. This was followed by the use of AHP for identifying habitat preference, selection of significant habitat parameters and classification of criterion. The habitats occupied by the elephants showed that the conservation of these animals would require good management practices within and outside of protected areas so as to ensure the level of suitability of the habitat, particularly in translocation areas
Laporan kajian akhir cadangan mengubahsuai rekabentuk dalaman bagi Tadika Tahfiz Al-Ikhlas di No.1-3 Jalan Plumbum 7/101b, Seksyen 7, 40000 Shah Alam, Selangor. / Widad Saaban
Bagi menghasilkan satu rekabentuk yang sempuma dan berjaya, pelbagai jenis aspek tidak kira darisegi luaran mahupun dalam perlu dikaji, dilihat, dan dinilai dengan teliti. Projek akhir untuk para pelajar Diploma Rekabentuk Dalaman merupakan manifestasi terhadap kefahaman pelajar tentang seluruh aspek projek rekabentuk dalaman yang telah dipelajari dari peringkat asas hingga ke peringkat persembahan cadangan rekabentuk. Projek yang telah dipilih bagi projek akhir ini ialah merekabentuk hiasan dalaman Tadika Tahfiz Al- Ikhlas yang terletak No. 1-3 Jalan Plumbum 7/101b, Seksyen 7, 40000 Shah Alam, Selangor. Objektif utama projek ini adalah untuk member satu cadangan skim rekabentuk yang baru bagi Tadika Tahfiz Al-lkhlas selain memberi nafas baru kepada suasana persekitaran tadika supaya lebih praktikal, sistematik, dan berfungsi kepada kanak-kanak dalam menuntut ilmu. Selain itu, pemilihan projek ini juga adalah untuk merekabentuk sebuah tadika Islam yang berimej baru selari dengan konsep yang baru supaya dapat meyakinkan masyarakat terutamanya orang Muslim bahawa Tadika Tahfiz berlain berbanding tadika biasa. Dengan terhasilnya rekabentuk dalaman yang baru bagi Tadika Tahfiz Al-lkhlas ini, diharapkan bahawa ia dapat menarik perhatian ibubapa supaya menghantar anak mereka disini. Disamping itu juga, dapat membuka beberapa lagi cawangan yang luar dari Shah Alam seperti kebanyakan tadika biasa contohnya tadika kemas. Konsep dan imej yang dicadangkan kepada klien dijangka mampu memberi satu kesan yang baik dan juga boleh menjadi salah satu tarikan utama kepada masyarakat terutamanya Muslim supaya yakin untuk menhantar anak mereka di tadika ini. Beberapa penyelidikan telah dijalankan bagi menjayakan projek akhir ini, antaranya termasuklah kajian memilih tapak, kajian temuramah, kajian pemerhatian, kajian kes, dan kajian soal selidik. Kesemua kajian tersebut adalah bertujuan untuk mengenalpasti kelemahan serat kekurangan yang ada dan juga untuk mengatasi beberapa masalah yang timbul. Kesemua kajian yang telah dilaksankan akan diterapkan didalam proses rekabentuk yang bertujuan untuk mendapatkan satu rekabentuk yang menarik dan sesuai samada dari segi fungsi dan estetikanya. Konsep yang diterapkan didalam projek ini adalah 'A Meaningful Beginning' yang membawa maksud permulaan yang bermakna kepada kanak-kanak. Sebagai cabaran, saya akan cuba sebaik yang mungkin untuk melahirkan idea-idea untuk merekabentuk Tadika Tahfiz Al-lkhlas
Notes on zygmund functions
In this paper we study a class of continuous functions satisfying a certain Zyg-mund condition dependent on a parameter γ > 0. It shown that the modulus of continuity of such functions is O(δ(log 1/δ)1-γ) if ∈ (0, 1) and O(δ(log log 1/δ )) if γ = 1. Moreover, these functions are differentiable if γ > 1. These results extend the results in literatures [4], [5]
