Mitigation of Voltage Sag/Swell by Dynamic Voltage Restorer for Power Quality Improvement

    Get PDF
Power quality has become a major constraint for any type of load to get the better voltage quality. When the power quality is considered ,the voltage sag/swell plays predominant role at different types of loads which decreases the quality of voltage at consumer end. Inorder to overcome this situation, a Dynamic Voltage Restorer is connected in series to the system. Dynamic voltage restorer (DVR) is a series connected power electronic based device which will quickly mitigate the voltage sags in the system and restore the load voltage to the pre-fault value. DVR is considered as the best solution to overcome the problem of voltage sag/swell. The primary advantage of the DVR is keeping the users always on-line with high quality constant voltage maintaining the continuity of production. In this paper, the usefulness of including DVR in distribution system for the purpose of voltage sag and swell mitigation is described. Results of simulation using Matlab- Simulink are demonstrated to prove the usefulness of this scheme

RECENT PROGRESS OF DENDRIMERS IN DRUG DELIVERY FOR CANCER THERAPY

    Get PDF
With the recent advances of nanotechnology, dendrimers are emerging as a highly attractive class of drug delivery vectors for cancer therapy. Dendrimers are multifunctional smart Nanocarriers to deliver one or more therapeutic agent safely and selectively to cancer cells. The high level of control over the synthesis of dendritic architecture makes dendrimers a nearly perfect (spherical) nanocarrier for site-specific drug delivery. The presence of functional groups in the dendrimers exterior also permits the addition of other moieties that can actively target certain diseases which are now widely used as tumor targeting strategies. Drug encapsulation, solubilization and passive targeting also equally contribute to the therapeutic use of dendrimers. Dendrimers are ideal carrier vehicles on cytotoxicity, blood plasma retention time, biodistribution and tumor uptake. In this review we highlight the advantages of dendrimers over conventional chemotherapy, toxicity and its management, following anti-cancer drugs delivered by using dendrimers and recent advances in drug delivery by various types of dendrimers as well as its diagnostic applications

Different users submit a query to a web search engine with different needs. The general type of search engines follows the "one size fits all" model which is not flexible to individual users resulting in too many answers for the query.  In order to overcome this drawback, in this paper, we propose a framework for personalized web search which considers individual's interest introducing intelligence into the traditional web search and producing only relevant pages of user interest. This proposed method is simple and efficient which ensures quality suggestions as well as promises for effective and relevant information retrieval. The framework for personalized web search engine is based on user past browsing history. This context is then used to make the web search more personalized. The results are encouraging

Videos are an integral part of current information technologies and the snare. The demand for efficient retrieval rises with the increasing number of videos, which is equally true for video annotation techniques as matadata is the primary source of most retrieval systems. - Recently, many video distribution sites provide external links so that their video or audio contents can be embedded into external snare sites. Online social networks (OSNs) have become popular desti- nations for connecting friends and distribution information. Recent statistics suggest that OSN users regularly share con-tents from video sites, and a significant amount of requests of the video sites are indeed from them nowadays. These behaviors have substantially changed the workload of on line video services. In this paper, we provide a comprehensive quantify study and examined source on these external links to answer these two questions. With the traces together from two major video distribution sites, YouTube and Youku of China, we show that the external links have various impacts on the popularity of the video distribution sites.  The social video proposed system provides information that is directed and personalized for the user overriding the content rather than the point of view of the user posting the content. The tradeoff in our case being that users have to sacrifice privacy and have to trust the recommendation system provider with their private data

    Get PDF
In today’s world, there is a need of verge of significantant transformation in Electrical Power System. The Vehicle-to-Gird (V2G) concept optimizes this transformation. The PEV typically has a higher capacity Energy Storage System (ESS). Each PEV stores approximately 5-40kWh of energy. This energy can be transferred to the Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G), Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) and Vehicle-to-Building (V2B) as most of the time the vehicle is kept in parking as idle. This paper presents the concept of V2G technology, their classifications, battery storages and types of batteries for V2G

A simple, rapid, precise, sensitive and, reproducible reverse phase high performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC) method has been developed for the quantitative analysis of Cefpodoxime in a pharmaceutical dosage form. Chromatographic separation of Cefpodoxime was achieved on Waters Alliance -2695, by using Luna Pheny Hexyl (250mm x 4.6mm, 5µm) column and the mobile phase containing 0.1% TEA adj pH-2.5 with OPA & ACN in the ratio of 75:25% v/v. The flow rate was 1.0 ml/min, detection was carried out by absorption at 222nm using a photodiode array detector at ambient temperature. The number of theoretical plates and tailing factor for Cefpodoxime were NLT 2000 and should not be more than 2 respectively. The linearity of the method was excellent over the concentration range 7-105 µg/ml for Cefpodoxime respectively. The correlation coefficient was 0.999. % Relative standard deviation of peak areas of all measurements always less than 2.0. The proposed method was validated according to ICH guidelines.  The method was found to be a simple, economical, suitable, precise, accurate & robust method for quantitative analysis of Cefpodoxime and study of its stability

Background: The ultrasound guided transversus abdominis plane (TAP) block which provides effective analgesia after lower abdominal surgeries including caesarean section. It is a simple and reliable technique. In this prospective, randomized double-blind study, we determined the efficacy of TAP block using 0.25% Bupivacaine and 0.9N Saline with respect to VAS for pain, postoperative Tramadol consumption and post-operative ondansetron usage. Methods: This study was conducted on 100 adult patients of ASA physical status I and II in the   age group of 18 to 40 years undergoing elective lower segment cesarean section under spinal anaesthesia. Study group received TAP block with 0.25% Bupivacaine and control group received 10 ml of 0.9N saline on each side. Patients were analyzed for postoperative pain by pain score (at rest, on movement, on cough) using VAS was recorded at 0, ½, 1, 2, 4, 6, 12 and 24 hours postoperatively. Need for rescue analgesia was assessed by time to first dose of Tramadol requirement and total dose of Tramadol over 24 hours of postoperative period. Ondansetron (4 mg i.v.) was administered whenever nausea score was more than 2 or the patient vomited. All the data was noted using uniform performs. Results: Patients received TAP block with 0.25% Bupivacaine had better pain scores at first hour of postoperative period during rest, cough and movement which was statistically significant (p0.001).Conclusions: TAP block using ultrasound provides substantial reduction in Tramadol consumption, time to first dose of rescue tramadol when compared with control group. This study reinforces the recommendation for TAP as a part of multimodal post-operative analgesic regimen
