Interfaces between wind energy aspects analysis and Weibull distribution: Evidences from a bibliometric study

This paper aims to address and understand the knowledge application of Weibull distribution to analyze wind energy aspects, which is related to technical, sustainable and economic assessment, along with wind characteristics. It is structured under bibliometric analysis and reveals a panorama of 177 papers from 2007 to 2017 that presents where and how these relationships between wind energy aspects and Weibull distribution occur. This study presents six different analyses to understand these possibilities: papers by year, wordlcoud, papers by author, papers by topic, papers by affiliation, papers by journal and its subjects. Main findings of this research show that the leading areas where these interfaces occur in academic research are energy, engineering and environment science. Another relevant result is that the intersection of wind energy and the Weibull distribution has been figured as a core research topic to individual or a group of researchers around the world. The main contribution of this paper to the academic community is the pioneering on presenting a view on the size and on the main characteristics of this interface through bibliometric analysis

Induced defense responses in tomato against bacterial spot by proteins synthesized by endophytic bacteria.

Some endophytes can synthesize molecules that elicit the induction of plant resistance to infection by pathogens. The objective of this study was to demonstrate that protein fractions 42 and 75 from Bacillus amyloliquefaciens and Bacillus pumilus were capable of acting as elicitors of induced resistance in tomato plants against Xanthomonas vesicatoria, following partial resolution by gel-filtration chromatography. Tomato plants sprayed with protein fractions 42 and 75 reduced, respectively, 63.5 and 56.6% of bacterial spot, compared with control plants. Additionally, these fractions promoted the increase of peroxidase (POX) and polyphenol oxidase (PPO) enzyme activities in treated plants. In SDS-PAGE stained with silver nitrate, protein fractions 42 and 75 appeared as simple bands with estimated molecular mass of 28 and 43 kDa, respectively. We report the partial characterization of two macromolecules synthesized by endophytic bacteria that act as elicitors of systemic resistance in tomato against X. vesicatoria

Although bodypainting has been reported as a great resource for teaching surface anatomy of humans, its use in veterinary anatomy has not been scientifically reported. In the present study, bodypainting was performed on 4 horses for anatomy teaching purposes of the equine locomotor apparatus. We aimed to use the bodypainting method as an additional tool to classic teaching and to test the relevance of our purpose. Twenty one Brazilian veterinary students were given a 90-min session, which included a presentation of painted horses, with opportunities for the students to ask questions and to palpate anatomic locations on the horses. Based on a questionnaire, there was unanimous student satisfaction with this technique. Furthermore, student scores on practical tests to evaluate the attention retain given immediately before and 1 h after the session were 33.9 ± 19.8% and 69.0 ± 18.4%, respectively (p < 0.001). We concluded that bodypainting has great potential for support the classic lectures of the equine locomotor apparatus
