El mercado de trabajo en una empresa flexible: la Fundación Averly de Zaragoza (1880-1930)

La fundición Averly de Zaragoza, empresa perteneciente al sector de construcciones mecánicas, comenzó su andadura en 1863 con ocho trabajadores y llegó a superar a finales del siglo XIX el centenar. Este artículo trata de interpretar la política laboral desarrollada por esta empresa de carácter familiar en relación con sus perspectivas de mercado y el tipo de organización del trabajo que desarrolló, basado en una división de puestos de trabajo y tareas por cualificaciones. A la vista de dicha política conceptuamos a esta empresa como perteneciente al modelo denominado como «especialización flexible», con producciones adaptadas a pedidos y ajustadas a las necesidades de los clientes.The Averly foundry in Saragossa is an enterprise belonging to the mechanical constructions branch. It opened in 1863 with eight workers, and by the end of the XIXth century it employed one hundred workers. This article tries to understand the labour policies developed by this family enterprise, as a function of its market outlook and its type of work organization, based on a division of jobs and tasks by qualifications. Sensor Selection for Target Tracking in Wireless Sensor Networks with Uncertainty

In this paper, we propose a multiobjective optimization framework for the sensor selection problem in uncertain Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs). The uncertainties of the WSNs result in a set of sensor observations with insufficient information about the target. We propose a novel mutual information upper bound (MIUB) based sensor selection scheme, which has low computational complexity, same as the Fisher information (FI) based sensor selection scheme, and gives estimation performance similar to the mutual information (MI) based sensor selection scheme. Without knowing the number of sensors to be selected a priori, the multiobjective optimization problem (MOP) gives a set of sensor selection strategies that reveal different trade-offs between two conflicting objectives: minimization of the number of selected sensors and minimization of the gap between the performance metric (MIUB and FI) when all the sensors transmit measurements and when only the selected sensors transmit their measurements based on the sensor selection strategy. Illustrative numerical results that provide valuable insights are presented
