The case for introducing the study of religion in India
The author o ers a brief report of introducing the study of religion in India since 194 While doing so he refers to the Constitution of India, so-called Nehruvian Consensus, the Kothari Commission which made an important distinction between ‘religious education’ and ‘educa- tion about religion’, as well as several other bodies responsible for national policy on education, which gave a unique shape of Indian secularism

The Role of Ethics in Hindu-Christian Dialogue
I would like to offer some remarks on the role of ethics in Hindu-Christian dialogue. I shall argue that the presentations of their respective ethical positions by these traditions are often too flat, which is to say, not sufficiently nuanced so that each side enters into dialogue with an inadequate understanding of the other side. I shall then further argue that the dialogue may be more fruitful, if it proceeded with a mutual recognition of the ethical complexities involved in their respective positions
Common Fixed Points of Compatible Maps in Fuzzy Metric Spaces
In this Paper a transposition of these notions is being made for 4-tuples A, B, C and D of self maps of fuzzy metric space (X, d). Then under suitable contractive conditions some common fixed point theorems involving such maps are stated and proved. These results open, in our opinion, a wider scope for the study of this topic in the framework of this new fuzzy metric space
Prescription pattern of antiepileptic drugs in indoor patients at tertiary care hospital in Haryana, India
Background: Epilepsy is a challenging medical problem in India with an annual incidence of 27.27 per 100,000 population and prevalence of 572.8 per 100,000. People with epilepsy require prolonged treatment and monitoring. The main goal in the treatment of epilepsy should be adequate control of seizures, without causing any life-threatening reactions due to the medications. This study was done to get an insight into the prescription pattern of anti-epileptic drugs (AEDs) in different types of epilepsy. Methods: A prospective study was carried out for six months (Feb to June 2016) in admitted patients in super speciality ward (Lala Shyam Lal) in neurology department of PGIMS, Rohtak, Haryana. The prescription data of 100 patients of seizures was analysed. Results: Idiopathic generalised epilepsy was commonest type of epilepsy (42%) and sodium valproate was the commonest drug prescribed for its treatment (66.66%) followed by phenytoin (23.33%) Symptomatic epilepsy was second commonest seizure (30%) and phenytoin (60%) was the commonest drug prescribed for it followed by sodium valproate (30%). Common adverse effects associated with anti-epileptic drugs (AEDs) were nausea, drowsiness, weight gain, diplopia and ataxia. Conclusions: Idiopathic generalized epilepsy was the commonest type of epilepsy recorded and sodium valproate was the commonest prescribed drug
On The Existence of Discrete Solitons in a Hexagonal Lattice
The discrete nonlinear Schr odinger equation on a non - square hexagonal geometry lattice due to the topological charge shows the possibility of a closed phase portrait and limit cycle in case of focusing nonlinearity. A linear stability analysis of discrete solitons is presented. The method of numerical continuation is applied t o solve the dynamical equations. The phase plane analysis shows existence of Limit cycle in the phase plane indicating stability of solito
Radial Flow and Differential Freeze-out in Proton-Proton Collisions at TeV at the LHC
We analyse the transverse momentum ()-spectra as a function of
charged-particle multiplicity at midrapidity () for various
identified particles such as , , , ,
, , and + in
proton-proton collisions at = 7 TeV using Boltzmann-Gibbs Blast Wave
(BGBW) model and thermodynamically consistent Tsallis distribution function. We
obtain the multiplicity dependent kinetic freeze-out temperature () and radial flow () of various particles after fitting the -distribution with BGBW model. Here, exhibits mild dependence
on multiplicity class while shows almost independent behaviour. The
information regarding Tsallis temperature and the non-extensivity parameter
() are drawn by fitting the -spectra with Tsallis distribution
function. The extracted parameters of these particles are studied as a function
of charged particle multiplicity density (). In addition to
this, we also study these parameters as a function of particle mass to observe
any possible mass ordering. All the identified hadrons show a mass ordering in
temperature, non-extensive parameter and also a strong dependence on
multiplicity classes, except the lighter particles. It is observed that as the
particle multiplicity increases, the -parameter approaches to
Boltzmann-Gibbs value, hence a conclusion can be drawn that system tends to
thermal equilibrium. The observations are consistent with a differential
freeze-out scenario of the produced particles.Comment: Published versio
