Sgt. Hubach filed this report after meeting with Drs. Stephen and Richard N. Sheppard as well as Dorothy Sheppard at Sam Sheppard\u27s home. Hubach notes that Dorothy Sheppard was trying to find the source of a foul odor in the kitchen when Hubach noticed a key on the floor behind the wastebasket. He tried the key in the door, and it fit. Hubach and Drenkhan filed this report on a tip regarding the murder. A woman from Lakewood, Ohio called and advised police that a strange acting man lived on her street. Hubach and Drenkhan identified this man and interviewed him. He stated that he was in Lakewood that night and did not own a car. They then interviewed his landlady, who stated that he was an ideal roomer. She did not know his whereabouts at the time of the murder
