Electron Velocity Distribution in Slightly Ionized Argon with Crossed Electric and Magnetic Fields
All solutions of the localization equations for N=2 quantum black hole entropy
We find the most general bosonic solution to the localization equations
describing the contributions to the quantum entropy of supersymmetric black
holes in four-dimensional N=2 supergravity coupled to n_v vector multiplets.
This requires the analysis of the BPS equations of the corresponding off-shell
supergravity (including fluctuations of the auxiliary fields) with AdS2 \times
S2 attractor boundary conditions. Our work completes and extends the results of
arXiv:1012.0265 that were obtained for the vector multiplet sector, to include
the fluctuations of all the fields of the off-shell supergravity. We find that,
when the auxiliary SU(2) gauge field strength vanishes, the most general
supersymmetric configuration preserving four supercharges is labelled by n_v+1
real parameters corresponding to the excitations of the conformal mode of the
graviton and the scalars of the n_v vector multiplets. In the general case, the
localization manifold is labelled by an additional SU(2) triplet of one-forms

Multifractal Behaviour of n-Simplex Lattice
We study the asymptotic behaviour of resistance scaling and fluctuation of
resistance that give rise to flicker noise in an {\em n}-simplex lattice. We
propose a simple method to calculate the resistance scaling and give a
closed-form formula to calculate the exponent, , associated with
resistance scaling, for any n. Using current cumulant method we calculate the

Security and Privacy Issues in Wireless Mesh Networks: A Survey
This book chapter identifies various security threats in wireless mesh
network (WMN). Keeping in mind the critical requirement of security and user
privacy in WMNs, this chapter provides a comprehensive overview of various
possible attacks on different layers of the communication protocol stack for
WMNs and their corresponding defense mechanisms. First, it identifies the
security vulnerabilities in the physical, link, network, transport, application
layers. Furthermore, various possible attacks on the key management protocols,
user authentication and access control protocols, and user privacy preservation
protocols are presented. After enumerating various possible attacks, the
chapter provides a detailed discussion on various existing security mechanisms
and protocols to defend against and wherever possible prevent the possible
attacks. Comparative analyses are also presented on the security schemes with
regards to the cryptographic schemes used, key management strategies deployed,
use of any trusted third party, computation and communication overhead involved
etc. The chapter then presents a brief discussion on various trust management
approaches for WMNs since trust and reputation-based schemes are increasingly
becoming popular for enforcing security in wireless networks. A number of open
problems in security and privacy issues for WMNs are subsequently discussed

Logarithmic Corrections to N=2 Black Hole Entropy: An Infrared Window into the Microstates
Logarithmic corrections to the extremal black hole entropy can be computed
purely in terms of the low energy data -- the spectrum of massless fields and
their interaction. The demand of reproducing these corrections provides a
strong constraint on any microscopic theory of quantum gravity that attempts to
explain the black hole entropy. Using quantum entropy function formalism we
compute logarithmic corrections to the entropy of half BPS black holes in N=2
supersymmetric string theories. Our results allow us to test various proposals
for the measure in the OSV formula, and we find agreement with the measure
proposed by Denef and Moore if we assume their result to be valid at weak
topological string coupling. Our analysis also gives the logarithmic
corrections to the entropy of extremal Reissner-Nordstrom black holes in
ordinary Einstein-Maxwell theory.Comment: LaTeX file, 66 page
Area spectra versus entropy spectra in black holes in topologically massive gravity
We consider the area and entropy spectra of black holes in topologically
massive gravity with gravitational Chern-Simons term. The examples we consider
are the BTZ black hole and the warped AdS black hole. For the non-rotating BTZ
black hole, the area and entropy spectra are equally spaced and independent of
the coupling constant \v of the Chern-Simons term. For the rotating BTZ black
hole case, the spectra of the inner and outer horizon areas are not equally
spaced in general and dependent of the coupling constant \v. However the
entropy spectrum is equally spaced and independent of the coupling constant
\v. For the warped AdS black holes for by using the quasinormal modes
obtained without imposing the boundary condition at radial infinity we find
again that the entropy spectrum is equally spaced and independent of the
coupling constant \v, while the spectra of the inner and outer horizon areas
are not equally spaced and dependent of the coupling constant \v. Our result
implies that the entropy spectrum has a universal behavior regardless of the
presence of the gravitational Chern-Simons term, and therefore it implies that
the entropy is more `fundamental' than the horizon area.Comment: 16 page
Isospin Fluctuations from a Thermally Equilibrated Hadron Gas
Partition functions, multiplicity distributions, and isospin fluctuations are
calculated for canonical ensembles in which additive quantum numbers as well as
total isospin are strictly conserved. When properly accounting for
Bose-Einstein symmetrization, the multiplicity distributions of neutral pions
in a pion gas are significantly broader as compared to the non-degenerate case.
Inclusion of resonances compensates for this broadening effect. Recursion
relations are derived which allow calculation of exact results with modest

Of cattle, sand flies and men : a systematic review of risk factor analyses for South Asian visceral leishmaniasis and implications for elimination
Background: Studies performed over the past decade have identified fairly consistent epidemiological patterns of risk
factors for visceral leishmaniasis (VL) in the Indian subcontinent.
Methods and Principal Findings: To inform the current regional VL elimination effort and identify key gaps in knowledge,
we performed a systematic review of the literature, with a special emphasis on data regarding the role of cattle because
primary risk factor studies have yielded apparently contradictory results. Because humans form the sole infection reservoir,
clustering of kala-azar cases is a prominent epidemiological feature, both at the household level and on a larger scale.
Subclinical infection also tends to show clustering around kala-azar cases. Within villages, areas become saturated over a
period of several years; kala-azar incidence then decreases while neighboring areas see increases. More recently, post kalaazar
dermal leishmaniasis (PKDL) cases have followed kala-azar peaks. Mud walls, palpable dampness in houses, and peridomestic
vegetation may increase infection risk through enhanced density and prolonged survival of the sand fly vector.
Bed net use, sleeping on a cot and indoor residual spraying are generally associated with decreased risk. Poor micronutrient
status increases the risk of progression to kala-azar. The presence of cattle is associated with increased risk in some studies
and decreased risk in others, reflecting the complexity of the effect of bovines on sand fly abundance, aggregation, feeding
behavior and leishmanial infection rates. Poverty is an overarching theme, interacting with individual risk factors on multiple
levels.
Conclusions: Carefully designed demonstration projects, taking into account the complex web of interconnected risk
factors, are needed to provide direct proof of principle for elimination and to identify the most effective maintenance
activities to prevent a rapid resurgence when interventions are scaled back. More effective, short-course treatment
regimens for PKDL are urgently needed to enable the elimination initiative to succeed
