The Messianic Secret and the Sayings Source Q: The article represents a new way of looking at the complexity with regard the “Messianic Secret” as a tribute to William Wrede, who was born almost 150 years ago. Wrede advocated a literary and historical solution to the Messianic Secret found in the Synoptic Gospels. The article aims to resolve the riddle by also taking the Sayings Source Q into consideration. Q is seen as located in the disciple group of John the Baptist and this group's adherents. The article argues that Mark developed the Messianic Secret as theme to adapt the unmessianic message of Q. As effect, Mark initiated a “christological” use of this motif within the church. The thesis of the article represents a modification that is a progression of some of the author's earlier opinions. HTS Theological Studies Vol. 64 (1) 2008: pp. 353-37

Zugleich gedruckt veröffentlicht im Universitätsverlag der TU Berlin unter der ISBN 978-3-7983-2567-8.Attempts to change people’s lifestyles in order to adapt to and mitigate the consequences of climate change are not reasonable without considering the question whether climate change matters to people or not and which aspects of the topic are crucial to them and why. The study is based on two quantitative surveys among 188 Iranian students from three different high schools in Tehran and 188 German students from two educational institutions in Berlin and Bonn conducted in 2009 and 2010. The aim of the surveys was to find out about the attitudes on environmental protection and awareness and knowledge on climate change and its consequences among students and to analyse existing consumption behaviour regarding mobility and energy consumption and energy saving within their families. The study analyses and compares the results from German and Iranian students

Zugleich gedruckt erschienen im Universitätsverlag der Technischen Universität Berlin, 2013. - ISBN 978-3-7983-2536-4, ISSN 2196-517XThis study was prepared in the framework of the sub-project "Awareness Raising" of the Iranian-German research project "Young Cities – Developing Urban Energy Efficiency in the Tehran-Karaj Region", which is funded under the program "Future Megacities" by the Federal Ministry for Education and Research (BMBF), and focuses on the energy efficient development of New Towns in Iran, with emphasis on the New Town Hashtgerd. Since a considerable amount of worldwide greenhouse gas emissions is currently produced in cities, the consequences of climate change can only be reduced by significantly and sustainably changing the way we build, move and live in our cities. The aims of the sub-project "Awareness Raising" are to survey the attitudes of citizens in regard to environmental issues, climate change and energy consumption patterns, in order to develop awareness-raising measures for environmental and climate change issues and to sensitize the population of the New Town Hashtgerd to climate change, sustainable energy consumption and energy-efficient building. Furthermore, the aim is to obtain insight into the needs and suggestions of Hashtgerd residents and incorporate them into the work of the project. Therefore, an exploratory qualitative survey of citizens of the New Town Hashtgerd on energy consumption in the household and transport sector, and on information about and attitudes towards climate change was carried out. The survey was also used to find out more about the structural condition of the apartments and buildings and about needs and suggestions of the residents regarding traffic and transport and other infrastructure in Hashtgerd

Issues regarding the 'Jerusalem Council' (G1 2:1-10)

The purpose of this article is to focus attention on the emphasis Paul gives to his report on the Jerusalem Council relative to the framework of the Letter to the Galatians. In this way, a more accurate evaluation of the events in Jerusalem may be reached. Schmithals rejects the view that what was at stake was a demand for the circumcision of Gentile Christians. The agenda for the Jerusalem Council was determined by Paul, who got his way by means of the cooperation of the congregation in Jerusalem. In terms of a division in work responsibilities, Paul would go to the Gentiles in order to establish Gentile-Christian congregations, while Peter would, in a parallel mission, concentrate on establishing and ensuring the survival of Jewish-Christian congregations. The Jewish-Christian congregations would continue paying the temple tax, while this arrangement would not apply to the Gentile-Christian congregations. The leaders of the congregation in Jerusalem expected nothing more from Paul. In tum, Paul undertook to ensure that his congregations would support financially the Jewish-Christian congregation in Jerusalem.Spine cut of Journal binding and pages scanned on flatbed EPSON Expression 10000 XL; 400dpi; text/lineart - black and white - stored to Tiff Derivation: Abbyy Fine Reader v.9 work with PNG-format (black and white); Photoshop CS3; Adobe Acrobat v.9 Web display format PDFhttp://explore.up.ac.za/record=b1001341wm201
